  1. We'll probably see a new QB playing 2 Quarters. He'll have a wristband on with 15-20 plays on them. Zolman will get snaps. Bledsoe should be yanked in the 1st Quarter.
  2. You are correct, Mike. ESPN has become all flash with little substance. The anchors are more worried about becoming celebrities with fancy " Catch Phrases " than reporting the news. Plus, their opinions on many athletes are poor. They barely know anything about the sports they speak of. I watch ESPN news almost exclusively, when I want highlights or some football news. You get everything within 30 minutes. Less nonsense.
  3. The only way the Bills can stay in the games this year is to stick to the plan of pounding the ball. I saw glimpses of good run blocking the last few weeks. The pass blocking is still subpar. Play to the strength of your team. If your line is better at run blocking...RUN THE BALL. 2 WR set. TE. FB or H-Back to lead block for Henry. It can set up the occasional play action pass downfield. Otherwise , keep the other throws short and RUN,RUN and RUN some more. Once Bledsoe started going to the pass frequently on Saturday, the expected results happened. Heavy pressure, sacks, rushed throws. I realize the regular OL starters were not all present. Still, DB is not mobile and we must NOW protect him at all costs, if we have any hope of staying in the game with our opponents. The gadget plays only work with an athletic QB. Toss all that garbage away and start tightening up this offense. We have 3 pretty quick HB's in Henry, Simonton and Williams. One HB who is much larger and still can be a force in Short Yardage and Goal Line situations.( MaGahee ). I think Nuefeld should be in the backfield on every play, lead blocking for Henry. Plus, he has soft hands for the short pass. ( Not sold on Shelton ). Here is one fan that hopes Mularkey pars down this Offense and sticks to the plan of pounding the ball and running clock. If we see Bledsoe attempting 35-40 passes a game, I don't foresee too many victories. It may result in " Winning Ugly ", such as 17-14, 20-17 etc. Still beats losing and looking sloppy. The Defense is still pretty good. The Offense needs to work clock and move the chains. I still remember his press conference when hired. He talked about " Tough guys " and " Pounding the Ball ". I'm hoping he still has that same mindset, if we are to win in 2004. Don't get cute and change the playcalling, like GW and "Gilblind"... Stick to the plan..
  4. Less crying for a day ? No problem. Thanks for all your hard work .
  5. Williams was beat once in pass blocking. His run blocking was very good. I wish the Bills would trash those trick plays and stick to smashmouth football. Opened some nice holes. Too bad Magahee had the ball and not Henry or Simonton. They would have gained a lot more yards than Half Speed Willis.
  6. I don't think McNally is God, just a good coach. Teague has improved. Smith is an upgrade over Pucillo. Chris V. is better than Ruben. M. Williams is coming around. Jennings and Price are healing. I just want them to be average overall, with their strength being run blocking. I'm realistic about how good they are. Crying a river accomplishes nothing. Hand the ball to Henry and stick to the plan.
  7. I played the game and have attended the Bills game since the 60's. Still, I'm just a silly fan and don't think my opinion is better than anyone. But I defer to your rightous, obnoxious posts. Enlighten me with your awesome wisdom, Mr. Lombardi... BTW- great post. Lots of insight. Oh wait, I just hit the IGNORE option. You no longer exist. Bye Bye
  8. Completely agree. Brown was fodder, no matter what the press was saying. If he's our starter, the season was done. Will be interesting to see who we aquire to back up DB. TD must be calling everyone today.
  9. I thought he was held a lot, myself. His mistake was not forcing the play back inside. Instead, he tried some inside moves and was victimized by the RB sweep wide. Later, he did better shedding his block. The rotation with Denney will continue.
  10. Watch the left side of the line. Sullivan struggles and Indy keeps bringing a LB, in addition to the LE. Then McFarland comes in and plays just as bad. That's how Brown was hurt. The Bills big mistake was not having a FB/H-Back there to pick someone off. Bledsoe was a sitting duck on those plays. I hope the Coaches see that. Also, watch some of the Magahee runs and tell me Henry couldn't have just burst through some of those gaping holes.
  11. He was 11-19 with 2 dropped balls . Sullivan was brutal. Mike Williams got beat once. He did OK the rest of the night ( Williams) and his run blocking was very good. My concern was the middle of the line, coming into this season. Teague was terrible last year. McNally must have done something. He looks very effective so far. Our Guard play is decent ,with Smith and Chris V. Watch for yourself. Don't go by what you've "heard ". The eyes don't lie. Other people do.
  12. Most definitely. I ripped him constantly last year. He really has improved and looks much sharper. I hope he just hands off the ball in the Lions game and gets the heck out of there.
  13. Man, you have become so negative lately. What happened ? It's not THAT bad. Did you see the game ?
  14. Have you noticed How many times I've complimented #11 on his play ? He really is playing better. Sullivan almost got him killed last night but he survived. I give him his deserving props.
  15. 1. Drew is the only QB in this roster. Zolman is fodder. DB took a couple sacks. Didn't really have a chance. Threw the ball well. Travis Brown reportedly tore his ACL. Gone. Feel sorry for him. Still, I never bought into this guy, despite all the friendly reports. Must find a backup QB immediately. 2. Willis " Half Speed " Magahee. For those yelling for trading Henry, please STFU. I actually thought how Simonton would have blown through some of those holes, let alone Henry. He is running on guts. Needs another year. 3. Marcus Sullivan - Please just cut him now. Just made no effort on a few plays. One got Bledsoe sacked and DB had to bail several other times, due to Sullivan. 4. OL - Showed ability to run block. Teague looks like a different player. Blocked very well. Someone posted said Lawrence Smith looked shaky. I kept watching the middle of the line and saw them doing well ??? I missed his supposed " bad play ". Mike Williams had one bad miss on a pass block assignment but played better. His run blocking was very good. 5. DL - Schobel was beating his man constantly in the 1st Quarter. Made 3 tackles in the backfield. Pat Williams was in the backfield several times. Adams plugged the middle. Kelsay needs to shed his blocks a little better. He'll learn. 6. LB's - missed a couple tackles early, then played better. Fletcher played well after missing his 1st tackle. Gildon did little to impress. Missed a few tackles. He's on the bubble. 7. J. Greer dropped an easy INT from Manning. 8. Kevin Thomas made a nice play on his TD- ball was tipped and he jumped into a pack of players to grab the ball and take off. He's played very well this summer. 9. Milloy broke his arm. Wire will probably start early on this season. 10. Izell Resse made some nice plays, especially coming up in run support. 11. Like some little things I saw from DT's Tim Anderson and Ron Edwards. I like our rotation in the middle. 12. Nate muffed a punt, then missed a punt return TD by inches. Last guy just tripped him. Darn. 13. Freddie Smith - fumbled twice returning kicks. Rhodes ran away from him on another long return. Bye-bye... Conclusion - Sloppy game for both teams. Bills had many fodder types playing ST's on coverage. May explain the breakdowns. Last chance to show the Coaches something, etc.. Travis, Jennings, Marcus Price, McGee sat out. Their replacements didn't take advantage of the situation. ( Magahee,Sullivan,McFarland ( who was beat on the Brown injury), Greer. Offense- The projected Starters have yet to play a game together. Seems someone is always being rested or hurt. Once the Line gets together and Henry is healthy, I'll feel better. Moulds dropped an easy one but so did Harrison. He looks sharp. Shaw made a nice grab. Josh Reed looks good. Run blocking is there. Defense- Middle of the Line playing well. Schobel played excellent last night. Kelsay and Denney continue to rotate. Have played some very basic formations, showing little in the blitz dept. I remember a couple last night, with Fletcher coming up the middle. Find a backup QB and just work on execution in the Lions game. Don't let Drew throw much. He looks fine. The line just needs to get reps. Get Henry healthy. I'm hardly in panic mode. Reserved confidence but many good signs are there. The OL breakdowns were NOT the starters last night. Saw some good holes Henry or Simonton would have ripped through. Willis could not.
  16. Good post. Milloy hurt but we'll be OK. The backup QB will be aquired shortly. I did see some holes opened by the patchwork OL and Bledsoe still looked pretty good. ST's had their bad game. I realize this is a pre-season game with multiple lineup changes being made. The panic button is nowhere to be seen. Resting Travis, Jennings, Marcus Price is smart thinking. Let them mend and get ready for the Jags. Play conservative against the Lions.
  17. What are you talking about ? Drew looked shabby ? I SAW the game and he wasn't a negative at all. Made several nice throws. Watched Moulds drop a perfect pass on 3rd down. I'm a Drew basher and believe me, he's not a problem. I'm sure this Thursday, Drew will be handing off the ball much of the time, to avoid injury. The search for the backup QB starts today.
  18. ( Clap, clap, clap ) A little more emotion and that Tony award is within reach !
  19. Did you see that booth ? Clements,Gray,Wyche,Lester, 2 others and TD !
  20. Why isn't anyone talking about them ? Kevin Thomas just scored. Here comes a kickoff. Oh NO !!!
  21. I did notice they ahve a lot of bubble players out there, instead of some regulars/starters. Could explain some of it. Bad night. Did you see Dominic Rhodes run away from "Fast Freddie" Smith .
  22. Shhh...that's not possible. Keep waving that white flag.
  23. I just sold my seasons and will now run the car in my closed garage.
  24. That is correct. Since Jonas is a gametime decision, I bet the Bills run the ball heavily in the 1st half. I wish see the Bills work on the running game anyhow. I know Bledsoe can throw and the WR's are solid. Might be boring but very beneficial for the regular season preparation.
