  1. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/its-time-for-the-no-fun-league-to-get-out-of-the-pot-policing-business/

I'd listen more if author stated what rules were in place for CBS's work place including drug testing and showed he was reefer free - he rambles making not much sense sometimes making me think he partakes too much.

He's right and who cares how he or anyone else spends his free time as long as he's not harming anyone?

    You're stuck in the 1930's.

  2.

No as I stated Fitz certainly can walk away. He is playing a game of chicken with himself though. The Jets certainly can start Geno. They were ready to start him last year. Fitz wasn't brought in to be the starter last year. He did play well in spots but he put up volume stats not quality stats. He only completed 59.5 % of his passes (29th in the league) for 6.9 ypa (27th in the league) for a rating of 88 (24th in the league). Also people need to adjust their qb expectations with the volume stats. He did indeed pass for 3900 yards (15th in the league), his 31 tds only put him at 10th in the league, and he was 5th in the league for ints.

So he is bottom half of the league in completion %, ypa, qb rating, and ints. Looking beyond the numbers is important for this conversation. 3900 yards and 31 tds sounds great until you put it in context of the rest of the league and rest of his stats.

See above. Geno can do all of that with the exception of maybe the yards/tds. However extrapolating out his game that he came in as a sub from last year (freely admit not a guarantee) would put him at 4240 yards and 32 tds. I'll beat it to death but Fitz put up volume stats not quality stats.

Fitz is the difference between a 8-8 Jets season and a 3-13 Jets season. That's a fact.

Fitz is doing everything right...as expected. He doesn't need training camp. He's a 33-year old vet who knows the system nearly better than the offensive coordinator himself knows it. Wait until mid-August, sign a deal and begin the season. Or if the Jets are really trying to screw him on a contract then he can wait until October to sign when the fans are raving and the Jets are 0-6 with terrible QB play.

  3. After watching the 30 for 30 I'm really wondering if somehow the Vegas bust which finally landed him in jail was orchestrated by the Goldmans. Did anyone find it really odd that the guy who arranged the meeting with the person that they all thought stole OJ's "property" recorded the whole thing despite his reasons?

    lol nice conspiracy theory

  4. Speaking of "don't get it", some of us were just commenting on the amount of time they spent on Rodney King and other events. We felt the point was well covered, then they continued. And continued. I saw it evolve. I think even the uninitiated could have grasped the context of the times with less time spent on it. We "get" what was happening, just not why that amount of time was spent on it. If it truly amazed you, you might want to take a fresh look.

It's an 8-hour documentary about race relations in the United States surrounding events that specifically took place in Los Angeles, CA. Therefore, the filmmakers are going to spend a significant amount of time on racial events in Los Angeles. You still don't get it.

  5. I totally get that they had to set the scene, but I literally checked the "info" button to be sure I was still watching the OJ show. They made the point, and then some.

Because this documentary is not a biography of OJ Simpson. It's about why and how the event that took place on 6/13/94 became such a national phenomenon. It's amazing how some people don't get it.

  6. When he said "we won the offseason" I thought Rex is truly delusional.

What do you mean we won the offseason, you had some practices. How do you know we won, did you have someone watch all the other teams practices to see if we really won?

I get that Rex blows smoke and totally inhales it, but C'mon dude be real for once and stop the useless, untrue comments, you look like an idiot if we lose (again).

    Stop taking everything so serious.

  7. So is OJ a sociopath or does he suffer from CTE, or both?

Funny - my wife and I asked the exact same question while watching the first episode.

I think it's both. In hindsight we can see that OJ displayed many signs of sociopathy considering his lack of willingness to do anything that didn't directly benefit himself. His resistance to helping out in the civil rights movement and the reasons for it (hurting his brand, "I'm not black, I'm OJ") spoke volumes imo. As did the statements from people who worked with him regularly throughout his career stating in interviews that they couldn't figure out if there was more behind OJ than the calculated, polished cardboard cutout who was able to perfect his public persona through the 70's and 80's.

Combined with that you have the fits of rage that are common among CTE sufferers. And back in the late 60's through 70's there was no concussion protocol in football whatsoever. Football was a rougher sport, lack of medical advancements, little to no knowledge of concussions, countless carries during his 11 year NFL career, etc. There is absolutely no question that OJ Simpson's brain contains an abundance of CTE.

  8. "I believe in being a multiple defense, an attacking defense, a physical defense. (Seattle) are a very physical defense; they play a very simple scheme and let their guys play. But I don't think that's why you hire a Ryan."

He's got that right. Hence the fall from #2 in 2014 to #24 in 2015.

Let dominant players be dominant? Nah, we'll over-complicate things so they're frozen in confusion as opposing offenses light us up.

  9. Archer has not tweeted anything himself - only the retweet of what you see above - but he’s been active on his Facebook page since the Bills claimed him over two weeks ago.

Archer has posted four different pictures in that time, all with check-ins in Florida. Two at a painting/art studio in Port Charlotte on May 17 and two from Siesta Key Beach within the past week (one of those was a post he shared).

The Bills were awarded the 5-8, 173-pound Kent State product after he was released by the Jets. His Facebook profile also still lists the "New York Jets" as Archer's employer.

Poor guy is taking this claim by the Bills really hard.

I can imagine that it would be devastating.

God speed, young man. #prayers #staystrong

  10. What Doug Whaley said was the absolute truth. Unfortunately the absolute truth is bad for business, the business of the NFL owners and NFL. It's a pretty basic understanding that guys running at speeds of up to 20mph who are 200lb plus pounds of muscle is a recipe for disaster. The fanatic side of people don't want to believe it but simply he's spot on.

Whaley works for the NFL and said "I personally believe humans shouldn't play football." When an NFL representative states something like that, it upsets people who think more should be done on the NFL's part to change the game in order to improve the safety of it as opposed to denying and covering up the truth.

It's not what Whaley said that bothers people. Rather, it's the hypocrisy of it.

If Whaley had said "I don't think humans should play football as it is today, and I'm devoting my life to changing the sport for the better." then people would be applauding him. But that's not what he said nor meant.

  11.

Is that all he said? No. How about reading the entire comment and putting it in the context of the point he was making? Is that too much to ask?

That's literally what he said. You can try to spin it as much as you want. There's no missing context in the statement "I personally don't think humans are supposed to play (football)." He said what he said and it cannot be denied.

    because it hurts his agenda

    Riiiiiiiiight.
