he was tired of losing, plain and simple. He was awesome, the Bills will miss him no doubt.

as I said above, I think 13 seconds stung him to his core, as it should have. Then add on the Bengal playoff game, and this year's annual loss to KC and he had just lost all faith in McD and Allen to get him to a championship. Remember this dude wanted to win so bad he was ready to keep playing in the first Bengal game.

Poor guy was just an innocent bystander. 😢

So if the white QB yells at the black WR on the sideline it's ok. But if the black WR yells at the white QB it's a no no.

    Got it!

I saw Brady yell at his guys multiple times on the sideline and nobody ever called him a diva.

Mahommes and his WR argued on the sideline during the SuperBowl. Kelce argued and pushed his coach.  All water under the bridge because they won.

  3. So glad to be rid of this drama queen.

Allen and everyone else probably felt like they were walking on eggshells on a daily basis around Diggs. The level of relief the players and coaches probably feel now to be rid of him can't be measured. Replacing him with Samuel is not at all a significant downgrade on the field, if it's a downgrade at all.

Having two miserable people like Diggs and Davis as captains was a horrible thing for this team IMO.

Considering the off-the-field benefit, I think we'll see an offense with happier players. A more well-oiled machine where the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.

I said on a good team. He played for the Raiders and the Falcons. He caught 18 passes last year.  I don't think that's a #2 WR even on a bad team.  Hollins has caught 131 passes in his entire 6 year career. 57 of of those came in his one season with the Raiders who were so impressed with him that they let him walk after the year.  Maybe he had a huge offer the Raiders didn't want to match? Nope. 1 year 2.5 million, less than a million guaranteed.

Apart from that 1 year with the Raiders, Hollins has played with 3 other teams over a 5 year span.  He averaged 15 (14.8) catches a season for those other 5 years. 16, 10, 16, 14, and 18.  Why anyone thinks he's going to suddenly break out at age 30 and deliver WR2 productivity is beyond my comprehension.

Those were bad teams because they had bad quarterbacks and/or head coaches. It's not like the WR units were any worse than anywhere else. Hollins doesn't have to worry about his quarterback's ability like he did in Atlanta.

Regardless, he's not going to be our #2 WR unless our top 3-4 wideouts tear ACL's. Pretty silly discussion tbh.

The bolded players are non-contributors except maybe on special teams. Maybe.  People have been waiting on Shorter to do something since his senior year of high school.  Hollins is who he is at this point and on a good team he's WR 5 or 6 not 3. Isabella is an outside receiver in a slot body. Shavers is a gunner.

Having warm bodies isn't the same thing as addressing the position.  Now, can this change between now and camp? Sure.  Right now WR is an abyss.  They need two more functional players who can play meaningful snaps right now.

It's still early April. The draft hasn't even happened yet. Take a chill pill.

Hollins has been his team's #2 WR for two straight seasons now, fwiw.

Would you call ignoring the WR position while the market has exploded for 4 years straight, sharp?

I wouldn't consider having Samuel-Shakir-Hollins with depth of Shorter-Isabella-Shavers as ignoring the position but regardless...stay tuned.

  7. Beane gets a pass because he's one of if not the sharpest general manager in the NFL and we as Bills fans are incredibly fortunate to have him.

Has he been perfect? Of course not. But no one is perfect.

That doesn't change the fact that he's excellent at his job. Anyone who can't see that is a moron, quite frankly.

Was Hamlin not inactive for most of the season while Lewis was? Did the Bills not just give Lewis a new 2 year deal. I'd say hes more in their future plans than Hamlin.

Lewis is a nickel corner and a special teams player. They gave him a 2 year deal to continue his role as Taron Johnson's backup.

Hamlin is a safety. And not sure if you heard but he died on the field less than a year prior to most of the 2023 season, which is why he was inactive for most of the season. I expect him to be back to his old self in 2024.

In whatever place these freakozoid athletes get to mentally, Allen has no choice but to get there with them. Jordan has it, Tiger has it, Nicklaus had it, Brady and Montana had it. I’m sure Lou Gehrig, Joe DiMaggio had it. Recently, all three Tennis greats have it.

It’s all upstairs. There are ways we can tell that a great one has the instinct for winning championships. It’s how they talk, what they say, what they believe is happening, and how they lead the situation to reach the top — total belief in yourself to be the reason your team wins championships.

Athletes are insanely confident individuals. Even proven competent pros think they’re the very best at what they do, when they’re clearly not, usually because of physical limitations.

Allen has the physical talent to be in the historical sports best-of-the-best group, so he’ll have to find that mental place that gets him there. His, focus, concentration, and determination needs improvement.

Yes, yes - if Allen had better mental power, he would have forced Diggs to catch this touchdown pass like a Jedi.

The Bills will never get to the Super Bowl if they are giving up 27+ points in every single divisional/conference championship game. It's too much to ask of the offense in consecutive weeks against the top four teams in the conference.

I really think McDermott acknowledges that this has been an issue and promoting a young coach in Babich to DC and replacing the entire defensive coaching staff (along with some roster turnover) will hopefully spark something that has been missing on defense these last four seasons.

I wish people would realize this undisputed fact. The regular season is not as important to the Chiefs.  They win enough to get in the playoffs then "flip the switch" like the Lakers used to do. The Bills are just the opposite.  The regular season is their plateau.  Once the playoffs and bright lights go on, they play tight just like their coach. Notice how KC's defense and most of their team are always healthy in January.  This is not a coincidence.

Mahomes' reaction to the loss to the Bills this season is proof that you are incorrect.

To me for the Bills, to get to the Chiefs level, they need to acquire more high end talent. It is simply amazing to me that Josh Allen has almost single handedly willed this Bills franchise to wins against the Chiefs in the playoffs. The Bills have talented players besides Allen but not to the level that the Chiefs. You can argue for Bills guys sure but at most positions the Chiefs have a guy who is better with the exception of LB and WR.

To get to the Chiefs level? Bills won at KC in the regular season and then lost by 3 points thanks to a missed field goal in the playoffs.

I know the perception is that the Chiefs are miles ahead of the Bills because they just won the Super Bowl. But the reality is that there's a tiny difference between the two teams this season. If they played 10 times, they probably split 5-5.

  13. I'm intrigued to see Jim Harbaugh in the AFC West with an elite quarterback talent to mold.

Mahomes thinks this whole winning Super Bowls thing is very easy and he'll just keep winning them. *raspy Kermit the Frog voice* "We're not done!" But it's not going to be nearly as easy moving forward. The division will now be more difficult for them to win. I see Jones leaving. At some point soon Kelce and Reid will be retiring.

They solidified their dynasty last night. Congrats to them, they earned it. Happy for lifelong Chiefs fans and the humble city of KC. But they weren't a dominant team this season. There was a tiny difference between the Chiefs and Bills this year.

    On to the 2024 season...

I don’t know any reputable Bills fan has any interest in watching any of this garbage since the team we root for went up in flames three weeks ago.

I watch every Super Bowl. I appreciate the history of the game.

IMO that adds value to being a Bills fan and makes it matter more and will feel that much better when we finally do win it all.

Would prefer this to more Mahomes and Kelce worshipping.

Always a chance that CMC has an incredible game that gives them the win and Purdy doesn't receive that sort of hype.

I don't mind Mahomes getting the accolades because he's the only one who is legitimately as good or better than our QB. Same goes for Rodgers based on his career achievements.

The rest are pretenders. Either products of great team performances around them and/or products of pre-determined mainstream-media-narrative-driven awards.

But perception is reality and until the Bills can get over the hump and win a Super Bowl, history will consider Allen below many of the quarterbacks playing currently.

Really hope the 9ers win. Not for the usual reason of seeing the Chiefs lose but because I’d like to see Mr. Irrelevant, Trent Williams (who played for the abysmal Redskins all those years, our old boy Feliciano who’s played a key role in that OLine and a QB with the last name Allen to get a SB ring…

Yep can't wait to hear the new lazy media narrative all year how Brock Purdy is now the best quarterback in the NFL.
