It's obvious that the entire defense (not just Dareus) struggled with Rex's scheme whether it's because they're all dumb or for various reasons. Why should Dareus keep his mouth shut about that? If that's how Dareus feels then that's what I want to hear from him. I can't stand BS answers we see so often from players and coaches. People are so emotional about Dareus' suspension. Get the hell over it. It had very little to do with why Rex's defense failed in 2015 and 2016.

So quarterbacks don't have bad games? The guy executed two game winning drives to keep the team's hopes alive against a 10-5 team before the kicker and head coach screwed it up for him. But I guess you're ignoring that.

Sounds like a lack of player leadership to me.

Using total yardage to attempt to prove some sort of point is the opposite of logical. Again, I just think they're being kind to Rex. It sounds better than "This guy was incapable of adjusting his scheme to the strengths of his players and couldn't make proper adjustments."

"Let us play" was the Dareus quote that stuck out to me. Schwartz let them play and be aggressive. That was their identity and it worked for those players. Schwartz allowed them to play to their strengths. As a result, opposing offenses had to adjust to what they did - not the other way around. I think Dareus was being kind to Rex by saying it was "too much detail". What he was really saying is it was the wrong defense for these players.

Do I seriously have to explain the circumstances around those quarterbacks' respective seasons? The importance of defense? Offensive rankings? PFF ratings? DVOA? How by your logic Drew Brees is a bad quarterback?

It has little to do with the length of time. I can't stomach a team that makes a very costly mistake then four years later repeats the exact same mistake.

No quarterback can win games by himself. Otherwise Rivers and Brees wouldn't miss the playoffs so often and Rodgers would have more than one ring. The numbers and analytics simply don't reflect your opinion. It will be the final straw for me. I can't continue supporting a franchise that refuses to learn from past mistakes.

Three categories of quarterbacks in the NFL: 1. Elite/Very Good (Top 9 or 10 QB's) 2. Average - Won't carry team, but won't lose games 3. Terrible - Will single-handedly lose games consistently and prevent a good team from winning more than they lose Tyrod is category #2 The only time you get rid of a category #2 is if he is beaten out by a guy already on the roster. Otherwise, you're begging to replace that #2 with a category #3.
