  1. From a value standpoint, I just feel we can do better by addressing DT in free agency and then using the 8th pick (should we not end up trading down) on a stud DB like Huff or a TE like Davis. If we were to draft Ngata, what free agent DB could we reasonably find in Huff's caliber or a TE in Davis'?
  2. Excellent post. I honestly don't see Redick's game translating into a great (or even above average) NBA career, but there's no denying he's had a great run @ Duke, and not just because of his shooting. And yeah, it was sweet for the Heels to beat them in his last game @ Cameron. Nice. If Roy isn't coach of the year, then they shouldn't have the award @ all. He's done a remarkable job of turning a program that lost its top 7 scorers into a Top 10 team the following season.
  3. Matlock is da bomb! I envy him.
  4. Only if Fewell is dead set on 3 technique DTs would I even consider Bunkley, because he fits that style way more than Haloti Ngata, who's more of the 2 gapper that I thought we needed.
  5. Manuel won't come cheap. If the rumored deal w/ the Packers (denied by his agent, but who's to say?) is any indicator, he's looking for a 5 year, $10 million deal, w/ a $2 million bonus. If he's actually looking for that kind of cash, we'd be better off drafting Huff to play safety instead.
  6. A trade down would be a good idea, if we could find a trade partner that is willing and/or able to give us an additional high round (2nd or 3rd) pick for swapping first round picks. If we do trade down, Tamba Hali would be a great option. He'd address our (lack of a) strong side pass rush, and could give us a solid run support LDE. Manny Lawson of NC State would be another interesting prospect if a trade down is in the cards. If we're able to get an additional 2nd round pick in the process, I'd love to see us go after Nick Mangold and, possibly, either Max Jean-Gilles (if he falls a bit to the mid/late 2nd) or Charles Spencer @ guard.
  7. I haven't seen Prince in concert in about 3 years. His shows are always entertaining.
  8. Excellent point. My guess, considering the players mentioned in this piece, is that they're referring to the current free agency structure. In that case, I agree w/ most of their list.
  9. Nah. Too much like sarcasm, which I detest.
  10. He was good, but I'd expect it of Heap knowing what he can do. To me, his '05 season wasn't anything remarkable. He's still a go-to guy in their offense, so I expect him to do about what he did if he's healthy. Mason's arrival didn't radically improve Heap's numbers.
  11. Exactly? He had... +7 over his career best for receptions +19 over his career best for yardage -1.5 under his career best for average +5 over his career best for longest reception +1 over his career best for TDs That's an exponential leap in effectiveness?
  12. Okay.... Todd Heap's stats W/out Mason: 2001 16 catches 206 yards 12.9 avg 24 long 1 TD 2002 68 catches 836 yards 12.3 avg 43 long 6 TD 2003 57 catches 693 yards 12.2 avg 33 long 3 TD 2004 27 catches 303 yards 11.2 avg 37 long 3 TD [INJ-missed 10 gms] W/ Mason: 2005 75 catches 855 yards 11.4 avg 48 long 7 TD
  13. SS? Lawyer Milloy Vincent the answer? Yes Preston will work out @ C Losman will work out @ QB Our elite DE that great defenses tend to have? Schobel and Denney/Kelsay Replace Moulds? Roscoe Parrish
  14. Yeah, but he sucks.
  15. Nothing wrong w/ a.......
  16. I like some of the moves (Kemoeatu and Pickett @ DT, Runyan @ OT), but I don't like depending on Peters to man the LT position. What about the pass rush? I'd love to have a great rusher to use as a situational player or to replace the LEs on our roster.
  17. If we don't address the lines in FA, then I'd hope we would either trade up for Ferguson or Super Mario or trade down and get someone else. Maybe DE Tamba Hali, OG Max Jean-Gilles, DE/LB Manny Lawson (pass rush), DT Gabe Watson, or C Nick Mangold (the last 2 could be acquired w/ additional picks in a trade down, should we find a good trade down deal).
  18. Draft a projected 3rd round WR (of a very weak WR class, I might add) w/ our 2nd round pick instead of one of our 2 picks in the 3rd?
  19. Not a bad choice. Now, if we do absolutely nothing @ all in FA or w/ any of our other draft picks to address the OL and the DL, then I think it's a bad move. I just don't think that will be the case.
  20. Understood. Looks like we'd both take Ferguson. Too bad this scenario won't happen in all likelihood.
  21. That's not true. His blocking is the one real knock on him, and not a big knock @ that. He's not a poor blocker, just not a great one. He's good, w/ room to become great. There's not a whole lot to dislike about Davis.
  22. Stop being ridiculous, stuck. It was Powerade, not Gatorade.
  23. Which team is moving down to give us the opportunity to get into the position to draft him? In the ideal world, he'd be my first round pick (just ahead of Mario Williams), but I just don't see him falling to the 8th spot.
