  1. Mangold will be there in the 2nd. While he improved his draft standing, I still don't see him being drafted in the first round. Lutui may or may not go in the 2nd. I don't see it as a given that he's gone by the start of round 3. I'm not so big on Bunkley or Wroten though. If we're going to address the DL, I'd much rather see us draft Tamba Hali and then Babatunde Oshinowo (instead of Wroten).
  2. I could live w/ that. BTW, I like your first 3 picks (in your sig). I'd be very happy if we started our draft that way.
  3. I applaud your passion for the Bills and your desire to see a winning team in Buffalo (don't we all?), but you're going about it in the wrong way. Say what you will about the standpoint of another poster, but leave the personal attacks out of it. It does nothing to let that person see your point of view. All it does is show that you obviously have a "see it my way or no way" attitude about the topic being discussed. It gets hard to do sometimes in the face of repetitive posts that seem to add nothing to a discussion, but do your best to live and let live in the process of stating your opinion.
  4. But....but....but....he tackles too high...
  5. True. If the Bills sign Kemoeatu and Pickett @ DT, plus add one or two guys on the OL (don't know if it'll be Mawae, but he'd be a huge upgrade), I'd be just fine w/ seeing Huff drafted @ #8. If not, they've got some 'splainin to do.
  6. A giant what?
  7. I have mixed feelings about Bunkley. On one hand, he tore it up the week of Senior Bowl practices, looking like a man among boys. On the other hand, during the actual Senior Bowl game, he didn't impress me. There was one screen play that he looked good defending on (did a great job of getting out to the RB), but very little else. The OL had their way w/ him. That's not good for someone w/ the rep of being a very strong player. I'm sure that's probably one reason he's gone up to 306 recently, in the hopes he doesn't get engulfed by bigger, more powerful NFL linemen.
  8. Sounds like someone was hoping for entry into next year's 365 Stupidest Things Ever Said calendar.
  9. Here's 5 w/ my username: So Easy, No Wonder R. Rich is #1. Can't Do It In Real Life? Do It On R. Rich. I Can't Believe I Ate The Whole R. Rich. The R. Rich Effect. If Only Everything in Life was as Reliable as a R. Rich.
  10. Well, considering how I've harped on the OL here for years, I concur w/ that statement. However, if we are fortunate enough to come out of FA w/ Kemoeatu and Pickett @ tackle, and if I kept the 8th pick in the draft, there's no way I'd bring in another DT, especially @ a high salary. So, I'd look elsewhere w/ the pick. OL? Well, you could go tackle, but what OT would I take w/ the 8th pick? There's only one, and he's probably not going to be available w/ that pick (Ferguson). A trade down? Maybe someone like Eric Winston, Jeremy Trueblood, or Jonathan Scott would be a consideration, but it would depend on where we're trading to. If we're dropping down a few spots, I sure as heck would hope we're not passing on Hali for any of those OTs.
  11. Going by your post, Michael Huff would be a good pick then. Not only can the guy cover, but he's a lights out hitter who loves the physical play. He's also a terrific blitzer. Considering the strong possibility of Mario Williams and D'Brickashaw Ferguson being gone by our pick, he'd be my choice if I were GM and I kept the 8th pick instead of trading up (for Williams or Ferguson) or down (for Tamba Hali, Manny Lawson, or someone else).
  12. Pickett or Ma'ake Kemoeatu would be my top 2, if I were going after a free agent DT. Both are good for what they do and neither would break the bank.
  13. From a value standpoint, I just feel we can do better by addressing DT in free agency and then using the 8th pick (should we not end up trading down) on a stud DB like Huff or a TE like Davis. If we were to draft Ngata, what free agent DB could we reasonably find in Huff's caliber or a TE in Davis'?
  14. Excellent post. I honestly don't see Redick's game translating into a great (or even above average) NBA career, but there's no denying he's had a great run @ Duke, and not just because of his shooting. And yeah, it was sweet for the Heels to beat them in his last game @ Cameron. Nice. If Roy isn't coach of the year, then they shouldn't have the award @ all. He's done a remarkable job of turning a program that lost its top 7 scorers into a Top 10 team the following season.
  15. Matlock is da bomb! I envy him.
  16. Only if Fewell is dead set on 3 technique DTs would I even consider Bunkley, because he fits that style way more than Haloti Ngata, who's more of the 2 gapper that I thought we needed.
  17. Manuel won't come cheap. If the rumored deal w/ the Packers (denied by his agent, but who's to say?) is any indicator, he's looking for a 5 year, $10 million deal, w/ a $2 million bonus. If he's actually looking for that kind of cash, we'd be better off drafting Huff to play safety instead.
  18. A trade down would be a good idea, if we could find a trade partner that is willing and/or able to give us an additional high round (2nd or 3rd) pick for swapping first round picks. If we do trade down, Tamba Hali would be a great option. He'd address our (lack of a) strong side pass rush, and could give us a solid run support LDE. Manny Lawson of NC State would be another interesting prospect if a trade down is in the cards. If we're able to get an additional 2nd round pick in the process, I'd love to see us go after Nick Mangold and, possibly, either Max Jean-Gilles (if he falls a bit to the mid/late 2nd) or Charles Spencer @ guard.
  19. I haven't seen Prince in concert in about 3 years. His shows are always entertaining.
  20. Excellent point. My guess, considering the players mentioned in this piece, is that they're referring to the current free agency structure. In that case, I agree w/ most of their list.
  21. Nah. Too much like sarcasm, which I detest.
  22. He was good, but I'd expect it of Heap knowing what he can do. To me, his '05 season wasn't anything remarkable. He's still a go-to guy in their offense, so I expect him to do about what he did if he's healthy. Mason's arrival didn't radically improve Heap's numbers.
