  1. I don't know what the big deal is. Willis got over 62.5 yards in the game, didn't he? As long as he continues to do that, he's a lock for 1,000 yards. That is as reliable a measuring stick as possible for running backs, especially in a 16 game schedule.
  2. They shouldn't hate.
  3. Today's rap? Suffice to say that here's a few CDs that are in "heavy rotation" in my car or @ work: Mos Def: Black on Both Sides Jurassic 5: Quality Control Jurassic 5: Power In Numbers Black Eyed Peas: Behind The Front Black Eyed Peas: Bridging The Gap The only relatively new CD I've listened to recently is Common's "Be" (which my brother and I say should be 'Kanyon', since most of the material is written by Kanye West).
  4. His blitz pickups were a lot better. That hit on K Williams was nice; took him off his feet.
  5. Maybe he's a fan of revisionist history?
  6. Ed, she's very nice looking. For a very brief time, she was engaged to be married to Martin Lawrence, I think.
  7. That's just not one of those issues I'm open minded on.
  8. Good thing. Who wants to see that?
  9. Never tried the stuff before.
  10. So that's what you guys do, huh? Laugh @ us? How dare you!
  11. Yes, but only if Haloti Ngata and Mike Nugent weren't available.
  12. Alright, busted! How did you know, Peter?
  13. Oh William. Whitner has done a pretty decent job out of the gate. He should be commended on that. As to your argument, I think we can look @ the Raiders and see that drafting OL high doesn't guarantee tons of wins, either. I'm just hoping Marv and company will concern themselves w/ drafting the best PLAYERS for this team, regardless of position. We got a starting DT out of this draft, just not where people wanted to: we got him in the 5th round. As for the OL, I posted yesterday about how I feel they're much better in run blocking but still need work (interior especially) in pass protection. They're a work in progress, but it's pretty decent progress so far. It's still too early to tell for sure, so we'll see what happens down the line. So far though, I like the defensive players we were able to acquire in this draft.
  14. Maybe there won't be a need to trade down (@ least in the first round)??? If we do end up w/ a high to mid round pick, I sure hope it's for a pass rusher, IF there's one suitable for that pick, that is.
  15. Yeah, like professional poker.
  16. There are success stories on both sides of this argument, so it's not a case of one person being completely right and the other completely wrong. Sorry to spoil the fun.
  17. I'm sure you won't need it.
  18. Hold on, now; lemme get this straight: they have good wings, the bartenders are cool, it's rarely packed, AND we'll (Bill from NYC and crew, you, myself) all be there that weekend? Jack's Pub it is. What say ye?
  19. I know. You'd think someone around here would have mentioned something about staying in Canada/Niagara Falls by now:
  20. True, but the pass rush sure would help. Now, if they're getting that kind of heat often and our DBs can't come up w/ the turnovers (aka Thomas Smith's Disease), then I'd really start to wonder.
  21. My guess (and, of course, that's all it is: a guess) is that guys like Clements, McGee, Thomas, Youboty, Simpson, Wire, and Whitner don't feel that way. I'm sure they'd love to have better support via the pass rush so that they're not in coverage as long.
  22. Since I'm involved in fantasy football as well as a couple computer simulation leagues, I get interested in many games to track the progress of the players. I'll be watching the Niners-Chiefs game to see just how good Niner rookie LB Manny Lawson will do. He had 6 or 7 tackles in the first week (vs Arizona, a game I got to watch), and has had a couple sacks so far also. Some were saying that he could be "this year's Shawne Merriman", but I haven't seen anything close to that yet.
  23. Jack's Pub, huh? Will you and your group be staying near there? Maybe we could meet there before the Pats game and I can see how good their wings are.
  24. A consistent pass rush (from more than one player) will go a long way toward allowing our DBs to make more plays.
