  1. One of the greatest seasons by a QB in history, regardless of number of years in the league, is now the barometer for all second year QBs? Prepare for some disappointment. Mahomes himself will be hard pressed to repeat last year’s performance in KC with all those weapons and Andy Reid calling plays, let alone second year QBs with no where near as good supporting casts. Allen could fall well short of Mahomes’s performance last year and still have a helluva good year.
  2. I pee in the shower while picking my nose. Style points.
  3. Apparently not important enough. I will just disagree with the last part.
  4. It’s not a question of math. For years, coaches and GMs have paid a ton of lip service to the importance of special teams. “Complimentary football” has long been defined as offense, defense, and “special teams.” Right now, in camps across the league, teams are devoting time and resources to perfecting various special teams elements. Players are being evaluated for their ability to contribute on special teams and final roster spots are often determined by a player’s ability to perform in those roles. If it’s really as critical and as important as they say it is, then it should be recognized as such by the HOF. If not, then it’s just lip service as I mentioned in my op. And Tasker is unique as there hasn’t been a player, before or since, who excelled in so many different roles on special teams. It’s not like his election would open the door for everybody else because nobody else did what he did. The honor of a HOF election and what it takes to attain it would not be diluted in the least.
  5. I remember that game. He had many games like that, too. I tend to classify the greats in two categories, those I’ve seen play in person and those I’ve only seen on TV or video. He is easily the greatest safety I’ve ever seen in person. It was readily visible to the naked eye how he imposed his ability on opposing offenses. Him and Deion Sanders are the only two DBs I’ve ever seen who could bait QBs into making throws into areas they thought vacated a second before. There may have been others who have done that over the years, but I haven’t seen it in person.
  6. If the idea that special teams is one third of the game and often an important influence on outcomes is more than just lip service, then yeah, Tasker should get in. He heavily influences outcomes from several different special teams positions; from rushing kickers and punters to being a gunner making big stops, to returns. NOBODY before or since has played so many different ST roles at such a high level. He should already be enshrined in Canton.
  7. Defined the position. Nobody more deserving of a first ballot induction.
  8. Yes. Morse’s spleen has been removed and is being used as a helmet liner to help soften further blows to the head.
  9. I think it’s prorated to four minutes on the day of their opening game. He will be good to go at 12:05am on Sunday, Sept. 8th. Seriously though, this is some petty crap being peddled by the league.
  10. That’s pretty good company, too. But ever since Oliver’s eye-popping pro day, it’s been “the next Aaron Donald” mantra. What’s ironic to me is that leading up to the ‘14 draft, a couple personnel folks around the league were pointing to Donald as the next John Randle.
  11. Frazier says he looks good.
  12. ^This. There was never any rancor between the Bills and Wood as had been speculated. I think that perception arose around the last minute decision to hold off until June 1 to release him vs. letting him announce his retirement in January. In short, the Bills elected to take the entire cap hit in 2018, some $10.8m iirc, by designating him a June 1 release rather than spreading a portion into 2019. That decision should have been made prior to Wood’s planned retirement announcement and I think the front office totally mismanaged the situation in January of 2018. Bottom line for Wood is that he was paid his guaranteed salary for 2018 (it was protected against injury, anyway) as well as the remaining signing bonus; some $8.8m in total. They took care of him. And that was never in question but it didn’t stop some from speculating that the Bills would ask him to return a portion of his signing bonus. That became a moot point by waiting to release him, anyway.
  13. Josh Allen continues to make us proud to represent our favorite team in our favorite city. Nice interview indeed.
  14. I can appreciate that. But it’s been a half hour and now we are on to the Steelers. Still not a second of Bills coverage since I started watching. From Bills camp.
  15. Yep. Plenty of time to keep showing all the teams I didn’t tune in for. I’ve been watching for 20 minutes and haven’t seen ONE second devoted to Bills coverage. From Bills camp. Getting some good Rams coverage now. Nice.
  16. NFLN at Bills camp. So far, it’s been all Jets. Nice.
  17. Yep. It’s worth noting the DL struggled the day before when the OL got the better of it. It’s training camp; there are gonna be ebbs and flows.
