Nothing wrong with wanting a winner. However, unless the Bills plan on running the spread option, Tebow is not the answer. I would rather have the kid from UGA.

So does the Bama PK. What's your point?

Did we jump the gun on the DJ extension??

Immediately report to the middle of the road. p.s. Bring bullets. The lynch mob -
So, only the last decision counts? The other 2 that are in direct conflict with the last "correct" one do not exist anymore? Actually, everybody I know personally considers me an optimist. I can't say I disagree with them. The Cynical comes out in me when I know people are more concerned about blowing smoke up may ass, trying to convince me their s**t doesn't stink, despite evidence to the contrary. DJ is a classic example. Spare me in telling he how "good" or "great" he is. DJ's own short and long term history says otherwise. The optimist in me keeps hoping Dick finally gets 'it'. The cynic in me tells me not to bet on it.

Actually, DJ is 1 out of 7 years in making the playoffs. Here's an honest question: Did you keep a straight face when you said "He makes the right decisions."? Did you agree with his QB carnival last year? But then again, he just needs 2, 3, or 4 chances to make the right decision, right? Just like he needs more time to turn the team around. 2-3 years is not enough. Dick needs 5+ years, right?

I agree DF got screwed out of the Titans playoff game. But that does not refute the fact DF had been unable to retain the starting job on 4 different teams. Ask yourself why that kept happening. Explore the possibilities.

Like Jax was last year for JP, this is Trent's "statement&quo
Cynical replied to VOR's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why? Because his opinion differs from yours? If you do not like what he has to say, TSW has this neat little feature called 'ignore user'. To access it, you click on the 'offending' user's name, and click 'view members profile'. When the window finishes opening, click on profile options, and then "Ignore User". After that, the big bad meanie will disappear. Or, you could just man up, admit to yourself you disagree with the OP on this particular topic, but you may end up agreeing with him on other topics. Your choice. And for the record, no, I do not agree with VOR. Benching TE because of a bad half would be pretty stupid. TE has been declared the starter. You play him, good or bad, all year. -
Personally, I am more worried about Miss St than the 'barn'. There will be no let down vs. Auburn this year. Miss St is a classic trap game. Bama is coming off the big win vs. LSU, and have guaranteed their appearance in the SEC CG. If the Bama players get caught looking past Miss St. to their game vs. the 'barn', the Bulldogs will gleefully bite Bama in the ass. Keep thinking that. In fact, I hope everybody keeps thinking that, including Florida. I heard the same thing about Clemson. I heard the same thing about Georgia. I heard the same thing about LSU. I keep hearing stuff like that, and I keep expecting it to happen. But it never does. Heck, there are some Auburn fans convinced that they will be the one to knock off Bama. However, their reasoning is so far fetched I will not dismiss the notion they were BSing. The LSU game proved something to me. This Bama team refuses to quit.

Here's a great example of why this "spectacular" play by Flutie is overhyped: Question: What does Flutie being 5'8"-ish have anything to do with this play? Answer: Nothing. Zip. Zilch. But unfortunately, that is what people focus in on, the midget throwing the ball. You want to know why it is a height issue? How many other QBs, collegiate or professional, threw game winning hail marys? Of those that did, you honestly think they all had "strong arms"? How come you never hear about those ones? Just a wild guess on my part, it may have something to do with their "height" not being an issue. Exactly. Flutie did nothing special with the ball. This was not a pinpoint pass, thrown like it was on a frozen rope, into triple coverage, that hit the WR in stride. He threw the damn thing to an area on the field, with nothing more than a hope and a prayer a BC player catches the ball. You are right about the WR. He didn't jockey for it, or out leap anybody, he just did the one important thing those others players did NOT do. He caught the fugging ball. Which just happens to be the most important aspect of that particular play. And if you do not think that was not the most important aspect, consider this: Instead of being caught, the ball hits the ground or is intercepted. Would anybody be talking about that play 20+ years later?

Hats off to LSU and it's fans. The game turned out to be the SEC heavyweight fight I expected it to be. A couple of random notes: -CBS needs to put a muzzle on Danielson. He has way of obsessing over stupid s**t that is annoying. -the more I watch freshman WR J. Jones, the more I wonder how good he would look wearing a Bills Uni in about 3-4 years.
-
People really need to get over this concept. He has been given plenty of shots, on 4 different teams. His problem was he was never good enough to keep it.
-
Which is interesting because Flutie needs to acknowledge the WR who caught the ball. All Flutie did on that play is throw the hail mary jump ball, and he gets all the credit. The WR who caught the ball - a trivia question.

Over in China ...
-
True, but after a couple of those, that leads to the original problem of cheering, yelling, etc ... Could this be a paradox?
-
This is irrelevant. Failure to get involved is the same as Jauron saying he agrees with whatever game plan is presented, and he agrees with the final outcome, good or bad. So if the results continue to be bad, Jauron is essentially saying there is nothing wrong.
-
This is not true. With all the yelling and screaming going on during the game, a virtual vortex was created inside the stadium. That sent wind speeds up to 6 mph, and occasional gusts of 7 mph. So I am going to place the blame where it squarely belongs: The fans. Instead of yelling, screaming, and cheering, they need to shut up, sit down, and golf clap (and do not clap quickly).

Officially sick of Dick Jauron
Cynical replied to marauderswr80's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I guess we define player prep differently. To me, player prep includes game planning. If the player is unsure or confused of the game plan, then the player was not properly prepared to play that particular game. This statement I find absolutely unsettling. Jauron is in his 8th year as a HC. If the jury is still out on whether he can properly plan, then the Bills are in deep ka-ka, both now and in the near future. -
Officially sick of Dick Jauron
Cynical replied to marauderswr80's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thats interesting. Just recently, did we not hear a player state (to paraphrase) he felt he was NOT fully prepared? Now, IMO, burning time outs to get plays in is NOT a sign of team that is prepared. -

I believe it was Jauron's decision. It is his coaching staff. -
Exactly what I mentioned yesterday bout Trent
Cynical replied to Tcali's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
JK called out Ballard in 89, and it was the catalyst that brought the "bickering" out in the open. IIRC, Kelly got injured, and was going to miss a few games for the first time in his career. Kelly blamed the injury on Ballard, for missing a block. That was the final straw for some of the other team members. (Prior to this, Jimbo used to run around and refer to himself in the third person. Needless to say, that shtick grew old fairly quickly.) Throw in some fighting by the assistant coaches ... instant drama. -
O-Line is filled with mistakes in free agency & draft
Cynical replied to VJ91's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Are you kidding? If anything, the injuries to Whitner, Youboty, and McGee, the benching of Simpson, the potential loss of Greer in the offseason, and McKelvin looking like he will take longer to develop than anticipated, have proven the Bills do not have enough DB's. I expect Jauron to draft at least three more DB's in 2009. Hell, maybe 4. We are in dire straits here. One will be at least a first or second round pick. I also expect the Bills to carry 16 DB's on the active roster starting next year. As for O-line. The Bills can just sign some guys from free agency. It has worked to this point, right? Am I right? Anybody? -
With Whitner & Schoebel out for the next month...
Cynical replied to Kipers Hair's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Fairchild? Well that explains a lot ... Don't you mean Fewell? And to answer your question, no. There is not enough talent on the team. -
Yes, it is a bit of a stupid topic. Only the kool aid drinking uber-homers were predicting all three rookies would have an immediate positive impact. The rational among us realized rookies take time to develop (and that is measured in years, not weeks), and expecting veteran like performance from rookies is a case of epic failure just waiting to happen. So, yes, calling rookies a bust half way through a season is stupid.
-
Your logic is flawed. Why does scoring a TD take one minute from the 25, and still take only one minute from the 50+?
-
What does a player have to do to make it blatant? Tackle the other player? Oh ... wait ... I think the Bills player essentially did that ... in the open .... in front of the official ...
