I was thinking the same thing. Its not his awareness, its the o line that needs to be aware. The way the o line played allowed him to gun it around the field. Great show by the first offense. Fitz didnt eay dirt once.

At first I thought when the Bills signed Merriman that he was just collecting a paycheck. But you see him on the sidelines during games trying to give people advice on defense and cheering on his team. He is used to being on a headlining team now he is in Buffalo. I remember the first game after he signed last year they had to tell him to get back from the sideline because he was getting to close to the field yelling and trying to help his team. With that said, I assume we will be lucky to get 4 to 6 good games out of him before he reinjures himself. I wish him the best because if he stays healthy our defense will thrive on his intensity.

Curtis Painter is horrible and too scared every time I see him play. You think with his mentoring from Manning he would be better. I noticed that also saturday. I dont know, it seems he is fooled by hidden coverages more than he should be. Id assume that he will be watching alot of film to get a better understanding on opposing teams coverage schemes and blitzes. I have confidence in him. It seemed that lastnight the Bills didnt prepare a game plan against the Broncos. Instead, concentrating on Spillers touches, screen plays, etc. I believe Denver wasnt too hot last week that they came out with a game plan to win. Just a confidence booster for them. The hit on Jones proved that. I am concerned about our offensive line, regardless of preparation or the pace of a preseason game, they were crap. It was embarassing to watch the game last night. Im worried Fitz will get hurt before the end of the season. He took alot of hits last night.
