  1. We are walking in Canandaigua on May 19th, 2019 again this year and are asking for your help. It seems impossible to believe that I was first diagnosed with relapsing remitting Multiple Sclerosis (R/R MS) 25 years ago! Thanks to improved care and therapy, most of that time I was in remission. Instead of giving myself daily shots or getting monthly IV infusions. I now just take one pill a day. I have some limitations, and had to go on disability a couple years ago, but I have few complaints! Total sponsors in 2018 contributed $1,365 to help those with MS and find a cure. Since about 2003, we have raised over $20,000 for the National MS Society in Rochester and Canandaigua. A substantial amount of the contributions were from Two Bills Drive Please sponsor me if you can. At least go to the link provided and read my story! MS WALK sponsors click here Thank you! Rock ?
  2. Jay's friend might be your friend too. Nicole aka Babyrock is my daughter. Way back when she was still in college, she and another of my daughters and some of their friends were "ticket girls" for raffles at the TBDAHOT, if you have been with TBD long enough to remember! I met Matt Kabel at a tailgate in Buffalo (I believe) and saw him one year with Nicole at the NY City Bills Backers in Manhattan. Small world! Sadly, Sally's fight against Infant Mixed Lineage (MLL) ALL Leukemia is finished but not her disease. Your support and prayers are still appreciated. Naaman (Cheeky) is my grandson. He was diagnosed in July 2018 with PH-like ALL - Leukemia. He will turn two years old at the end of this month. Cheeky, will be undergoing intense and aggressive treatment for at least another 2 1/2 to 3 years. He is on FACEBOOK as "Team Naaman". Read Sweet Sally Sunshine's and Naaman's stories and the links Jay provided. Please help in any way that is best for you. God Bless. Rock Cheeky got an early birthday surprise from ONE Bills Drive and Billy Buffalo.
  3. I used to drive a freezer delivery van. It had a two speed axle and eight total gears. I rarely needed more than four gears.
  4. I can drive a manual transmission but in 1959 I was only six years old.
  5. I think only about 1% of men will make effective soldiers but there are a lot of non-military support roles each could manage well.
  6. According to Selective Services, " Virtually all male U.S. citizens, regardless of where they live, and male immigrants, whether documented or undocumented, residing in the United States, who are 18 through 25, are required to register with Selective Service." "Today, ALL conscientious objectors are still required to register with the Selective Service System. A conscientious objector is one who is opposed to serving in the armed forces and/or bearing arms on the grounds of moral or religious principles." Females do not have to register. If men and women are equal, why is this still the law? Your thoughts? BTW: I have two grandsons in the Army National guard. One is now also in college and the other finished his associates degree and is a new deputy in Ontario County.
  7. Yes they did! I was already a fan of the Clash. As forstbitmic said, "Opened with David Johansson who did an Animals cover and not much else." To be fair, Johansson was out of place at that venue. The crowd was not kind - very impatient. The Clash "rocked the casbah"! The Who started to sing "Love, Reign O'er Me" just when it started to rain. All things considered, without the big video screens they have today, a place like the Ralph is the WORST to see a band. I saw The Who at the Rochester War Memorial Auditorium in the early 70's (with Keith Moon) and it was the best!
  8. Was that when the Clash opened for The Who concert?
  9. SB XXII was pretty bad. It began with a bomb that put Denver up 7-0, then it was all Redskins, 42-10. Honorable mention SB XXVI, XXVII, and the most of the second half of XXVIII to anyone except a Bills fan.
  10. If you are a Bills fan and have not learned to keep your expectations LOW, I am sorry for you. Wide right was almost 30 years ago.
  11. Watching CS commentators outside the stadium, because I cannot HEAR them. Great idea - whoever decided to put screaming fans that close to the broadcast desk. I doubt I am missing anything profound at this point. I hope it is an exciting game and the Patriots lose, preferably on the last play of the game.
  12. No attending replies. Lunch is canceled.
  13. Our local library has a deal with Ancestry.com and you can sign up for "Ancestry Lite" for free. It does not have ALL the features of the paid subscription but you can create a pretty comprehensive family tree. If you have a break and want to get into it more "intensely" sign up for the free trial. Also, there are a lot of free genealogist web sites. I signed up for "Ancestry"and connected to some first cousins in the U.S. and even one ancestor in Holland who is a very serious genealogist, who can trace my maternal grandparents back to 1589. The way he puts it "we share a few molecules", since our "trees" cross in the 1700's. My mother died when I was only seven and I lost touch with her family. Now I know that on her side I am one of 23 first cousins! My paternal grandmother's side I trace through the Civil War and found records going back to 1760. I would really like know more about where THEY came from, probably England.. I do this for a hobby, and do not spend a lot of time on it, but it is interesting! My current family is large enough (ten grandchildren) to keep me busy without worrying about my ancestors I am sending in the DNA kit today. (Christmas gift) Edit: Growing up, our Christmas dinner of all immediate family was seven people. I knew I had a lot of other family members, but we were not close. I think perhaps that is why building a family tree was interesting for me.
  14. It is a long road, but he is moving forward. I HATE being six hours away. Luckily Cheeky has wonderful parents and very good support from church, friends and family.
  15. It might be nice to end the season on a positive note, since all we can do is cheer AGAINST a team.
  16. If I could, I would. They do not want me!
  17. Cheeky is in another phase of treatment and doing as well as can be expected! team naaman
  18. I got one in 1964 for participation in Little Loop football with the Lake Shore Lakers. We had a banquet and Tom Day handed me my trophy and shook my hand! (AFL days) My oldest daughter has it now so it will stay in the family. We knew we were not "champions" but it meant a lot to an eleven year old learning the game. I have my "Number Tag" that they pin on you for running the Lilac 10K. For the 10K, I was thumbing my nose at being over 40 AND having to deal with my diagnosis of MS. I worked hard to prepare for it and had an 11 minute mile pace. I hate running, but it was making a statement!
  19. Was it bigger than a tennis ball? (Where is my plunger?)
  20. The last "official" Bills team Jersey I got was Kyle Williams. I did not want to pay for a player jersey and have to toss it in the pile of draft failures or players who became free agents and left for greener ($) to another team, or morphed into psych cases. I selected jersey on an "old reliable" player I respect and will really miss watching. Like most on the Wall of Fame, I believe I can wear his number for many years to honor his service to the Bills.
  21. You got that right! My daughter and son-in-law are my heroes. They deal with this 24 x 7 and do not complain. She gave up her career to care for him and son-in-law now has two jobs. This makes my MS seem like a cake walk! p.s made it through his lumbar puncture today!
  22. Cheeky was able to get through his latest treatment and come home to celebrate Christmas. Life is a roller coaster, though for his whole family. Nicole told me she cannot tell me in the morning what her calendar will be for the afternoon. She is a fighter though, and has passed that on to "Cheeky". Looking forward to a positive New year, as his chemo treatments continue. He filled out quite a bit, and has had fewer melt downs. I imagine chemo is like steroids, his moods sometimes are Banner keeping the Hulk at bay! He is learning to say "football", Buffalo" and "Ay-Ay Ay Ay! Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and a very Happy New Year to all. Rockpile
  23. You are too modest, but either way, my point is the same. The threads are interesting AND promote conversation because they are somewhat open ended, which promotes debate.
