All this talk about waking them up, burning poop in the halls... really? That would be cheating. C'mon gang, that's wrong. It's not like the Patriots are a bunch of chea....oops....wait a minute....

At any other time in the Bills history, I would have liked this. But given the looooooooooong list of areas we need to improve, this signals some financial mismanagement and poorly set priorities. LB, WR, QB...once we have solidified these areas, then the top brass can spend money on DL. Same goes for the draft. This guy might play well for the Bills, and I'll cheer for him and all....but...seriously?

Point taken, and I agree 100 million does do a fair bit of talking! However, I stand by my point that Gruden would be in a better position to lure in FAs than our present crew....assuming they had the same amount of $ to play with.

Great links, educational, and very appreciated. Think of it this way; it's not like the offense gets an extra player when they run this. If there are 2 players that are potential targets, there should be 2 players there to stop them. If the DE does commit to the first guy (blocker, or in this case, QB who may run with the ball), then there should be a 2nd player there to get the second guy (the RB who takes the hand off). Time to put the fear of God into any QB who dares run this play consistently against the Bills.

Regarding luring Mario here; I hear Kelly, Merriman, and a few others had a lot to do with that. This was before the present regime tarnished their reputation with complete ineptitude.

It might be a difficult play to stop, especially when run by agile QBs who can run like heck. However, as noted earlier...it's the QB who calls the play in the huddle. After he's been nailed a few times, he'll stop calling it..even if it is getting them yards. I don't advocate getting penalties...but, as they said before the Green Bay VS Chicago game 'these teams play hard right 'till the second whistle'.

There is one thing that does work in Gruden's favor, if (by some miraculous reason) we can lure him to Buffalo; He's a name. I don't think reputable free agents will be in a hurry to come play for this regime. He has earned some respect around the league, and I'll betcha he could play a significant role in luring some 'big names' to Buffalo. We need some people not to 'rebuild' this team, but to upgrade it. As noted earlier in the thread, there are some key pieces in place; OL, DL, Stevie, Spiller, etc. We have plenty of 'depth' players, which leads me to conclude that this year would be a good year to trade up in the draft. We desperately need one WR, one LB, and a QB. Get 2 in the draft (high picks, from trading up), that can be inserted as quality starters. Get the remaining position of need filled in free agency (see aforementioned comment about Gruden hopefully helping us lure in a quality player or two). We might be having a bad year, but change at HC (somebody who can use Spiller wisely, etc), plus the right off-season moves, and I think the Bills are onto something.

Cox takes postions 1 through infinity. Position number infinity and one belongs to Marino, just for being a whiny baby. Infinity and two belongs to Cox, again. Can't hate him enough. I think we'll have to import some extra hate from Oakland or something.

Rule changes: 1) Everyone gets to cheat against the Patriots. Kicks to previously 'untouchable' areas of the body are rewarded with a first down, or multiple first down 'tokens' that can be cashed in at a teams disposal if they kick Bellicheat in aforesaid region. 2) Every team with a dome must play at least 3 randomly chosen home games outside. 3) ALL helmets to be covered with an extra 10 inches of bubble wrap. 4) Teams can't move ....at least the Bills.

I'm sure everybody has seen the Air Force do pre-game 'flyovers' prior to the Super Bowl. But they also do it for other games besides the Super Bowl....thus leading me to turn to the wise readers of these forums to answer; Has there ever been one at the Ralph? When? Was it announced anywhere in advance? What kind of planes flew by?

What would I do if the Bills win the SB? Heck, I'd have some kind of levitating out of body experience: meteors shooting out of my ears, blinding rays of light coming out my eyes, and the sound of angels singing would be coming out of my mouth. All jokes aside, I'd watch it with my son, and drive down for the parade. One quick comment though: I'd never go see the Bills actually play in a SB. Usually the atmosphere isn't the same. Half the fans cheer for the opposing teams, and most of the people there don't even watch football that much....they just happen to have a brother who is VP of Budweiser or something, so they get the tix.

Good question. I'm not sure. However, the CFL hasn't exactly collapsed since the Bills started playing there. I'm only speaking about a 'regionalization' plan. For it to work for the Bills in Toronto series in the long term, the next stadium to host a game or two every year would be better off built nearer the border. This would make the whole experience an easier thing to swallow for the American fans, and probably improve the tailgate and atmosphere for all fans....and the Bills themselves.

Sadly, La Cage a Sports near my place here in Gatineau just closed down. However, on the market in Ottawa, construction is underway on a 'Real Sports' bar and restaurant. Now THAT is going to be niiice. 99 TVs, one 20 foot mega-screen.....can't wait. Back to the original topic though, I should point out that literally ALL the Bills fans that I know also make the trek to B-lo, rather than watch the Bills game in Toronto. They give the same reasons; the atmosphere and the tailgate parties. The Toronah people could make a bigger case if they built an outdoor stadium in somewhere like St. Catherines, or near Hamilton. Out in the middle of nowhere, with a parking lot like the one at the Ralph. More fans would come over the border, I"m sure. I wish the best for Toronto, and hope that (after the Bills have their new outdoor stadium in Niagra area), they make plans to build a stadium like the one I described. It would be Canada's way of saying ''thanks for sharing, check out what we're gonna do for you guys''.

So this theory is that for the Bills to be financially successful, they need to have a winning record every year. That's not stability. Every team has its ups and downs....and like every team, the Bills need to be financially secure to build their way back up when they are down. Actually, I'm sure I speak for the majority of Canadian fans. We love going to the U.S.A. to catch a game. I live in Quebec (just across the river from Ottawa), and when I go to see a Bills game, I drive right past Toronah to Buffalo. I've never been to a Bills game in Toronah, and hopefully never will. Why? TAILGATE PARTY, PERIOD. Moving the stadium to Niagra (the U.S. side) would probably be the best move. Keep the name, just make a symbolic reach out to the Canadian fans to make them feel like it's partly their team too, and they can easily get to a game and return home for dinner. It still would be close enough for Syracuse and Rochestah fan to make it, too.

How important is this wall? I live in Quebec. Not too many bretheren 'round here. This wall is a great place to socialize and talk some Bills Football. Those who make it available to us should be reminded occasionally that they are very, very much appreciated. Once I received a pretty tasteless message, which showed the sender of said message should have checked his/her facts first. But many, many times I have laughed my face off, or found information which helps me to better appreciate the game, and the Bills themselves. Unlike in the 'real world', I have found a huge percentage of funny, informed, and pleasant people through this board. Long live TBD! GO BILLS! And of course; F### MIAMI!

Holy crapola. I haven't checked this page since I made my post about taking my 11 year old to the game. Of all the many years I have been reading this forum, I have to say today is the day when I was most impressed with the level of intelligence and reasoning behind the posts I have read. Also, I gotta say, this entire discussion might make me prouder than ever to be a Bills fan. Heck, ya, I had a bunch of beers when I went to games when I was in my early 20s. However, being a drunk, loud fan and being an idiot is obviously two different things. Thanks to all of you for your insightful comments.
