I was just about to get in on this. Specifically with our dear Friend Bad ol' The new defenses are smart about passing lanes and qb release awareness. When to look up, for D lineman, release/get off the block and get the hands up. Zone defenses especially. as much as I love Kyle he really was too short for today's DTs. continually moving into the passing game lanes and getting QB sight disruption by scheme is one of the best ways to defeat the short passing game imho. ala Patriots Shaq is perfect for what he is being asked to do. This year has been a big step forward for him in This defense.being able to play laterally is important give him a deal , not the 5th year option. He must know he has more to prove and Buffalo ? is the place to get that done.

I might guess, both were/ are considered low character guys. Landry especially !!!! and Brown is a Diva that needs flowers and candies every Sunday. Not good for this Team. and one player doth not improve the team. and how boring would it be to have Josh be forced to chuck the ball to Brown all game. .... another point about Watkins. he was under a regime that was a mess. Just look at the war between Marrone Brandon and Whaley over the QB position. Those were not a great place for Rookies, or anyone else really end thread

as the Coaches say "availability" trumps many things. Watkins has mad some freaking amazing catches for the Bills. Just stupid good stuff. and he was nearly always doubled in some way. I moved on when he got weird. I recall he and Fred ( another of my Heros ) were to visit a local car dealership. And Sammy made some lame excuse about his ride having issues. Fred stayed late and signed everyone's everything. That is when i suspected he wanted to move on. and then the foot issues that no one really knew, or reported clearly. and he became a decoy at best. Don't hate him. don't like him either. and those guys post Bills, both were foolish to pay him for " potential" lol well my feet hurt and make me grumpy. so me for one

Good post and good sense of humor Obviously Bills need to find youth at and any and all positions. Picking up a Vet is not exclusive to that mind set. More solid wisdom in the room helps the youth. kinda go hand in hand ? I understand your perspective. But what young player would not want an on the field mentor to eventually take over for ? If the Man can play football ? and he has shown he can you at least talk to him. in one or two years the Young blood is better prepared and experienced to take the role. and then the cycle repeats in theory of course : )
