We drafted a 24 year old who was supposed to be a mismatch as a receiver and great at catching balls in traffic. So far, he isn't that at all. I've said it before but I'll say it again. Giving Knox the contract Beane gave him only made sense if his usage increased and he maintained his TD production. What made no sense was paying him what we did and then immediately drafting his replacement in the 1st round. It's just a complete mismanagement of resources and Im still annoyed at Beane for doing it. We have one guy that is getting paid quite a bit of money and the other was a 1st round pick and neither of them are difference makers on this team.

Coleman being Gabe would be an upgrade to what he is now. Gabe built up speed to create separation deep but Coleman can't even do that. Gabe was a 4th round pick and we got the most out of him. I'm not sure where Keon fits in this in this offense right now. I don't see any nuanced route running. The contested catch thing only happened a few times all year. He's probably best suited for the slot but with Shakir playing there it's hard to see him getting a ton of opportunities.

Gut feeling...how would we have fared against Philly?
Bangarang replied to Billsfanatic8989's topic in The Stadium Wall
Barkley would have torched us and our inability to get to the QB would've allowed Brown, Goedert and Smith to chew up our secondary. -
I honestly put more blame on Beane than McD. Aside from Josh, it's not an overly talented roster. I was kinda hoping Brady got poached by the Saints. I'm just not a huge believer in his ability to consistently create mismatches with his scheme and play calling. I think he relies way too much on Josh putting his body on the line.

Coleman in 3 games in the playoffs...3 catches on 8 targets for 22 yards and 0 TDs. It's hard to even get excited for him because his flaws are just so detrimental to him having success in this league. Bishop looked lost and was a complete liability on the field. Meanwhile, Davis is going to be 26 next season and is firmly behind Cook. It's hard to pick out a single impact player out of that group. What a pitiful draft class by Beane.

You can take all of the needs we had last off-season and regurgitate them again this off season. Nothing has changed with where this roster needs great help.

Joe Brady and Aaron Kromer had a rough night

Because Brady puts a lot of the same stuff on tape week after week. Having Josh Allen do superhuman things with his arm and legs makes you not realize it. At what point do we start blaming Beane ?
Bangarang replied to TrentEdwardsCheckDownOn4th's topic in The Stadium Wall
Having Josh Allen covers up a lot of incompetence. You can certainly go back and criticize A LOT of what Beane has done whether it's money he's spent in FA or draft picks. -
We watched the slant God Michael Thomas excell for years at it. That should be who we try and mold Coleman after.

I was honestly a bit disappointed when it was announced that Brady was returning. -
His best position might be in the slot but we're going to keep watching him get blanketed on the boundary because this team has more slot guys than they know what to do with.

Of course it is. It's a mediocre supporting cast. The notion that everyone eats was cute until our season was on the line and we have maybe, big maybe, 1 guy that you can reliably go to in a must have moment. Shakir is our best WR and he's a complimentary piece. You want to know why Josh is getting so much MVP love? It's because his supporting cast is mediocre and people expected us to take a big step back. That's how good he is and unfortunately we just watched another prime year go down the toilet because we like to invest in mediocre tight ends and WRs who can't separate to save their lives (Coleman) or are invisible for 2/3 of the season (Samuel).

Can Brady go for that second interview? His offense and play calling go completely limp at the worst times and he relies way too much on Josh being extraordinary. Kincaid, Coleman, Bishop, and Elam are all mediocre players who were drafted high and expected to be impact players. That's on Beane. Cook was by far our best player and for whatever reason he was kept out of the game for long stretches. The defense crumbled at the worst times and there just aren't any difference makers on that side of the ball. That is also on Beane. It's just so sad watching us waste a generational QB in the prime of his career with a mediocre supporting cast.
