Whaley is the best thing that has happened to this team in over a decade, I take this as very good news.
This. I am optimistic, but I too tire of the cyclical bipolar fan mood that been going on for a decade. I remember being pumped about the Donahoe hire.
It does not matter whether you or anyone else thinks he is necessary.
It's up to Chan. Chan obviously feels he is, so I am not sure why you would even waste a breath on trying to determine whether he is. You don't have the necessary information in order to make an intelligent hypothesis.
Threads like this really amuse me.
I bet you knew Jim Plunkett, Brad Johnson, Trent Dilfer, Kurt Warner, Mark Rypien, John Elway, etc. were all Super Bowl Caliber QB's before they actually brought home the Lombardi too....
You are better than Miss Cleo. What is your 900 number?
From your list, just Peters and Leonhard. Leonhard would of stayed for cheap and was better than anything we had at the time.
I really was pissed when they let Pat Williams walk.
Between Williams, Leonhard, and Peters we lost three diamonds in the rough. No draft picks wasted, we developed them, and then we let them walk--Pointless waste of time.
When healthy, you can't compare the two. This season our team looked competitive early--then our weak depth started to show. I look forward to seeing what Nix does in the draft this year. Generally I have agreed with his drafting. I put Maybin on Jauron. Two exceptions to Nix's: Troup and Spiller. Troup was a pick based on need that just did not work out. I still have hope for Spiller. I want to see him in with McIntyre more. Screw this spread crap. It's nice to have it in your arsenal--but we play it all the damn time. When healthy I don't believe there is a better interior line than the one we have--Levitre, Wood, & Urbik. McIntyre is a beast--why not do a traditional I more on short yardage instead of a spread pass or spread trickery runs?
Baffling.
