  1. It feels like this sort of thing sends a bigger message to a team like the Raiders who have been careless as well. Gruden will nickel and dime the league all day on this, but without the disaster that the Titans have been, which would make it difficult for them to count games against the Raiders. This is a major shot across the bow to Gruden and Davis. Get it together or your HC is going home for the year and you are paying us a ton of money.
  2. ha, I did not. I worked restaurants for like 15 years in Buffalo. Stopped in 2017. We probably know a bunch of the same people.
  3. Valid point. I think it is closer to $7M when you look take out roster bonuses etc.
  4. It will be like the lore of OJ running for 2k yards in 14 games. When he throws for 5500 yards in 15 games he will be a legend.
  5. I like how Fromm from was on the injury report without any injury. McD was just like, "Meh, Fromm didn't do much today. No real good reason, we just didn't feel like giving him many reps. So little reps in fact, that we needed to let everybody know for the sake of transparency. Again, we don't have a great reason for this, but it happened"
  6. Maybe a topic for another thread, but what do the analytics guys say? And can we be sure they are not just trying to push their "agenda?"
  7. I think wingspan and "hip bend" are important to know here. When you are on your couch, do you have to lean forward to get your beer off of the coffee table? No? Left Tackle it is! Yes? Well how much do you groan?
  8. I am built like a rangy CB with very little burst but a good engine so I can sustain mediocre performance and handle what ever snap count you throw my way. I promise to only pee myself a little bit when Diggs tries to press me off the LOS. Where should I send my direct deposit information?
  9. We are wearing matching tin foil hats on this one man. I can't blame him either.
  10. Just like a forfeit, it is not my prefered option here, but if it happened it would be difficult to complain about. Another option is, that Tennessee gives up draft picks to teams that have cancelled. Start from the bottom and move up. Pitt gets a 7th. Buffalo gets their 6th. Keep it up and Houston gets a 5th. If they still cannot get their shirts together for the Pitt make up game, Pitt gets their 7th and 4th. Tennessee gets credit for the losses, but the innocent team does not get the wins.
  11. Honestly, the more I sit with another positive test today, the more comfortable I am with the Titans having to sit out the rest of the season. Forfeit those games, or just skip them all together, does not matter to me. But I don't think that punishment is way over the top. They seen to have held multiple private practices, bringing in FA's, continued positive tests. They proved that they are not responsible enough to be apart of the pandemic version of the NFL. Another option in general is to just cancel out of conference games league wide. Treat those like bye weeks for teams. It provides some additional room for rescheduling if/when some more things go awry. Seed the playoffs by conference games only going forward. This actually works perfect for Buffalo v. Tennessee. Both have NFC games on 11/8 (Seahawks and Bears). That should not have a huge effect on TV money. It is not a dead week for the league, just a handful of games don't happen, still NFL on TV for every market and they keep the ad money. Superbowl moves to homefield for the higher ranked seed. Given the state of everything right now, especially in Florida, if I am an NFL team going to Tampa for the Super Bowl, I probably don't fly in until either the morning of or day before (like a lot of teams are doing now). The last thing I want is to risk infection with the Covid hell hole that is Florida in the lead up to the biggest game of my career.
  12. Here is an idea. Titans are done for the year. Go home guys. No more games
  13. I don't think it should. As far as I know, signing, roster, etc. bonuses are not part of the weekly game check, they are what they are, a bonus paid up front. Now if you are talking performance bonuses, OK. fine. But those would not add $5M in week 5 of the NFL season. And they would not get them anyways since they didn't, ya know, perform/play any games.
  14. Thank you Si! Did not see that. I could not find it with a quick google either.
  15. I hadn't seen that. Not that I think you are wrong, but I didn't see it with a quick "Tampa Super Bowl weekend" google.
  16. They could make a "shoot from the hip" decision right now that might work. Cancel all out of conference games for the rest of the season. Playoff seeding is only conference record. That gives the league and teams some wiggle room to reschedule if things get off track. Like right now, both Buffalo and Tennessee have NFC games on November 8. Cancel the NFC games, pencil in Tenn @ Buf. Losing home field is part of the Titans punishment. Our team gets to breath for the week and know who they are playing and when. Tennessee gets to get their shirts together. It is almost too easy. Except for the fact that the NFL is still trying to grab at TV money. Which I think in this scenario is minimally effected, because Sunday is still filled with tons of football. Just WNY shows the Browns game instead of Buffalo. The advertising money is still there. It should be a minimal impact on the TV money. Players missing a game check or two stinks, but you could solve that with taking a team like the Titans, fining them pretty heavily, and using that to help make up for lost wages.
  17. I believe part of the scheduling issue was due to Tampa not being willing or able to change SB weekend. At the time, I think people, and Florida especially, thought we would be well back to normal come February and that meant everything else on the calendar would box that weekend in. What the league could do is pause, build in bye weeks. Then treat the SB like a normal playoff game. Top seed gets the home field. Push the existing SB contracts back a year. Or they could just keep beating their head against the wall and keep reshuffling the deck chairs and hope they get everybody to play 16 games and the playoffs go off without getting wonky.
  18. Just spit balling here. I don’t love the week 18, before the playoff, make up games either. Could or would the league start cancelling out of conference games to make up conference games. So in this situation on 11/8 we play Seattle and Tennessee plays the Bears. Drop the NFC opponents and sub in the conference games. Makes playoff seeding easy without having to worry about total games played. If there is dire need for seedlings to play BUF vs. SEA they can play week 18. Or if both teams agree, they take the bye and go to the playoffs.
  19. Curious if that includes Sunday Ticket since that becomes almost like PPV.
  20. That both incredibly useful and oddly specific information to have. Go Bills!
  21. I think that is an old report. Wasn’t there a report earlier in the week that that “could” happen. I hope that’s off the table at this point. The league needs to show some leadership at the moment.
