  1. Hacketts playcalling is an issue. We have a scat back and instead of running him primarly outside the tackles and using him in designed screens to attempt to get him in space, and in the short passing game we run him inside the tackles. We are one of the most run heavy offenses in the NFL yet we rarely run playaction and never run playaction with the QB under center. We have one of the most mobile quarterbacks in the league yet Hackett never runs designed bootlegs to allow Manuel to get in space and avoid the pass rush. I'd grade Hackett an F,
  2. As the season goes on it's looking more like the Buffalo Bills and EJ Manuel, Doug Marrone and Russ Brandon are imploding as a franchise.
  3. Considering all these problems? Last in the division AGAIN! 15 years of not making the playoffs. Hardly can get a sellout of a game Headcoach is not proven. QB is not proven, not even sure he is the best QB on the current roster nor the QB of the future. Spiller not being optimized in the offense. Lack of CB talent. Lack of star WR talent. Lack of productive tight end Bills playing in Toronto. Run defense.
  4. I'll keep my list short. Ralph Wilson Russ Brandon John Murphy
  5. They were winning when they were injured and starting playing worse when they got healthier. At their healthiest they had their worst game of the year. I don't buy into the injuries excuse with this team.
  6. Hampered by injuries? Who was injured today?
  7. Jauron had the best record but he left Gailey with the biggest mess over the last 15 years. IMO the biggest turnaround was in the Gailey era. Currently under Marrone we are regressing (with better talent). The QB play and in-game management closely resemble the Jauron era.
  8. It really does. Dick Jauron = Marrone, EJ Manuel = Trent Edwards. One thing is for sure is that this season made me appreciate Chan Gailey. Gailey made me forget about these guys but this team is reverting back to this style of play.
  9. I agree. It's extremely troubling the future of the Bills right now.
  10. So what are their head to head numbers in year 1 as a starter? My eye is troubling me because they look like very similar QB's. Scary enough Marrone reminds me of Jauron...ekkkkk! So does anyone have their complete stats?
  11. Secretaries are not in Ralphs ear and involved in player personnel like what Brandon has been - now who is in control of ALL football operations.
  12. Russ Brandon has been the face of failure for over decade now.
  13. This is based on peripherials, not meant to be reactionary after this game. We will likely have another shot at getting a viable 1st round pick at QB. QB is undeniably the most important position in the NFL. Manuel hasn't proved anything nor deserves to be the starter next year. In terms of coaching, in short the peripherials are looking similar or worse than the Jauron and Edwards era which is perhaps the worst era as a Bills fans in the last 15 years. Casual fans were clouded by "things look different", "games are close" and "Marrone is changing the culture" but it was really the defense that looked different thanks to Pettine. The "Pettine coattails" as I liked to call them. They are unraveling as the defense hasn't played well in the last month. Like Jauron, Marrones team plays close to better to elite teams and lose to lesser to bad teams. Both Jauron and Marrone liked to give up big leads...leading to an eventual lose. Marrones team overall however is playing worse the healther the team gets as the season goes on. Most notably the QB and his development. Jaurons team never had the benefit of getting healthy late in the season. Jauron was always devasted by injuries especially late in the year. Marrone has a worse challange % than Dick Jauron. Although they look eqaually lost on the sideline. Marrones in-game management is one of the worst in the NFL this year. Marrone is coaching up one of the most undisciplined teams in the NFL and the worst among Bills teams in decades. The amount of penalties for 1st downs is horrificly bad. Marrone is not even addressing this. Marrones specialty is offensive line and the offensive line is regressing. Like Jauron, Marrone and his staff is unable to develop a quarterback. It is scary how similar EJ Manuel and Trent Edwards are. Check down machines. Innacurate over 10 yards. No pocket presence. Neither Marrone and Jauron could hire decent offensive coordinators. The cherry on top is Marrone is working with a lot more talent. This franchise is actually regressing under Marrone. To sum it up lets be progressive we are not setting this team back 3 years, we are potentially advancing it 3 years by making bold moves.
  14. My instincts were honed on this. The water is boiling and the rubberbands are coming off the claws.
  15. I think it shows how flawed QB rating is. Awful stat.
  16. Brandon (C-) - A marketing guy in control of all football operations in the NFL. Only in Buffalo. Hired Marrone. Brough in an analytics department. We really don't know how this will bare out. I'm not sold on Marrone and the analtyics department we have yet to see what this is all about. Nix/Whaley (B+). They receive my highest grade. They brought in a lot of talent. One of the best offseasons in recent years. This is the most talented Bills team since the Wade Phillips era. While they reached for Manual who is an enigma and 3/4 into a season we really have no idea what he is about, they brough in Hughes from a trade, Lawson in FA, Alonzo who can be the ROTY. Woods an Goodwin can be key pieces to the WR core in the future. There was a lot of talent brought in this year that are key contributers for this year and for years to come. Nix and now Whaley, while painful are slowly building sustainable talent. Doug Marrone (C-). Arguably he is getting less results from working with more talent than previous regimes especially with what Jauron and Gailey had to work with. His in-game management has been pretty bad in terms of challenges and clock management and just overall win-loss results. This is also one of the most penalized Bills teams in our era of futility. I would grade him a d+ but the hiring of Mike Pettine bumps him up a grade. Overall Front Office Grade: C
  17. The Bills allow the opposing team 2.5 free first downs on average due to penalties every game! This is absolutely disgusting!
  18. From the Jets game last year to the Falcons game today. It's been consistent for the first two years of his career, opposing teams purposely attack him in their gameplan. Gilmore is just not that good. Lets be honest here.
  19. Neither do the penalties which have hurt this team EVERY SINGLE GAME THIS YEAR!
  20. I'm one of the few that has been consistent all year that hasn't "bought in".
  21. Reminds me a lot of the Dick Jauron era to be honest but Marrone has a lot more talent than what Dick Jauron worked with. It gives me alot more appreciation for Chan Gailey. Gailey inherted Jaurons mess and made improvements. I don't see improvement from what Gailey built.
  22. Two of the big ones is that there is a change of culture going on. The other one is accountabilty and coaching a discplined team. By far one of the most un-discplined Bills team in the last two decades of futility. I really don't see the change. I see Marrone getting less out of a more talanted Bills team than we have had since the days when Wade Phillips coached this team.
