  1. What a distaster! Doug Whaley and his myopic plan at work once again!
  2. All contracts are not created equal as well as the risk involved. In this case with the disaster that is Clay's contract it makes sense NOT to restructure considering the ramifications of the dead money involved and and future cap hits especially for an injury prone player that has stayed healthy once in his five year career. The Bills restructuring Clay would just be another example of Doug Whaley's myopic vision putting together this team.
  3. Trump is going to nail it once again in the debate tonight. Winning!
  4. Founder of OverTheCap Jason_OTC ‏@Jason_OTC 8h8 hours ago Irvington, NJ #Bills can create about $8M in cap space with restructure of Clay's contract. Wouldnt be a wise move IMO. 0 retweets 0 likes Jason_OTC ‏@Jason_OTC 8h8 hours ago Irvington, NJ @nshosho36 Its taking a really bad contract and making it worse, locking you in for more years than you need to be locked in Jason_OTC ‏@Jason_OTC 8h8 hours ago Irvington, NJ @nshosho36 They wont extend they just convert salary to a bonus. Dead money skyrockets as do future cap charges. Makes it harder to cut 0 retweets 0 likes
  5. GOP front runner Donald Trump would call the Buffalo Bills the "Jeb Bush" of the National Football League.
  6. Those 3 other teams all design a lot more running for the QB's especially Carolina and Seattle. Taylor's running is coming off passing plays. It's one of the main reasons they finished last in the NFL in passing offense.
  7. Agree 100%. Also in terms of the QB running Taylor 90% of the time they are on DESIGNED PASS PLAYS.This is actually a bad thing. Taylor's inability to scan the entire created this artificial inflation in their rushing stats and at the same time created a severe detriment to their passing game (last in the NFL).
  8. Clay is definitely a better blocker however Clay's career is A LOT more in line with Chandler than the top tight ends in the game.
  9. Fans are praising Whaley for having the most players under contract but it doesn't mean anything when you have to cut players, starters really from the top 51 (that count against the cap) to get under and free up space. Also, there is complete fodder after the 51 so you are not going to be filling your starting roles with 54-67 on that list. Resources such as free agency and the draft then have to be used to fill those roles.
  10. This is a beautiful thing.
  11. There is no artificially inflating the cap going on. The cap number of them being the ONLY team over the cap right now is already in the context of the top 51.
  12. Yeah. The guaranteed money was stupidly insane. To put it in context he makes DOUBLE, yes DOUBLE the guaranteed money compared to Rob Gronkowski.
  13. When you have the most players under contract and are over the cap and will have to release players to get under and create cap space it means absolutely nothing.
  14. How do you judge YAC besides their actual Yards After Catch??? YAC/AVG (Career Numbers In Yards) from 2011-2015 Scott Chandler 4.4 4.7 5.2 4.2 2.7 Charles Clay 5.2 4.8 5.5 4.7 4.8 Scott Chandlers career avg is 4.2 and Charles Clay avg is 5. Both are well below AVG in terms of YAC and are VERY comparable.
  15. Cutting Manning leaves $27 million and change under the cap. They are in WAY better shape than the Bills this year even when you factor the Osweiler contract. ...and when you start cutting players to get under the cap and also to create cap space to sign guys like Glenn and Incognito that will not be the case anymore.
  16. What's so egregious about this is the Bills do not even have a franchise QB under contract and they are still in this situation. I think it was Taylor's escalators that bumped him up a few mill that dragged them down into the worst cap shape in the NFL for the 2016 season.
  17. That 4th and 20 on the game winning drive against the vikings was an incredible play by him from a poorly thrown ball by Orton. I believe he made an incredible one handed grab in that Jets game you were just talking about as well.
  18. If you restructure his entire roster bonus into a signing bonus it goes 19.5M, 13.5M, 9M, 4.5M. Yeah! Crazy!!!
  19. That restructuring would entail the Bills taking on an INCREDIBLE potential amount of dead for an injury prone player that has stayed healthy ONCE in his career. The way this contract was structured was a disaster and restructuring it just makes it even worse considering the dead money involved and the more important pending signings in 2017-2019 like a franchise QB, franchise CB and your franchise WR. We will need every bit of cap space possible. You don't want to restructure clay.
  20. That could be true but when Cameron Jordan signed they should have done their due diligence and re-done the offer sheet to Clay. The facts are still that the offer sheet to Clay was AFTER the Jordan signing. It doesn't matter if it was created as long it was not submitted to Clay's agent. Which it wasn't. The nature of his contract could have been avoided.
  21. Miami allocated the majority of Jordan Camerons contract in 2016 (9.5m). Their year of supposed cap issues. If they really wanted Clay they wouldn't have done that.
  22. The first couple of years has him top 2, on average 4 when he signed.
