  1. I know there's a lot of questions concerning the new coaching staff/regime, but I doubt they would be letting a borderline cut as you say to play with the starting unit through two preseason games.
  2. School supply shopping should have sucked because it was the first concrete sign you had to go back to school...EXCEPT...some genius decided to invent the aforementioned trapper keeper. I think my first one had sharks on it.
  3. I would love him to make that jump with the starters on Saturday. That's what preseason is all about, let the guy go out there and earn it. Steve Johnson shouldn't be offended, it should make him work harder to let him know that the coaches are looking elsewhere.
  4. Roger that. I know injuries and changing positions have affected some of the other small college guys that were drafted, but Bell seems like the guy who dominated college at a lower level and is able to make "the leap" against better competition. I hope he gets a chance against the 1's this week a bit to see what he does against better players.
  5. Sorry sir, I will never do it again. Please excuse my ignorance for replying to a thread. I have to go buy school supplies now.
  6. Yes, we do know why. Because the head coach said he was going to split the reps and give each qb the chance to play an extended period of time so he could get into the flow of the game.
  7. Actually, suprisingly enough, both Tim Hasselback and Mark Schlereth were singing the Bill's praises last night. Schlereth is one of ESPNs biggest front-runners so any praise from him is unusual. Hasselback commented on Trent's steady play but then basically said Brohm or Fitz hadn't played well, so I think he only watched the first half or so.
  8. Yes, thank you. If anything, it was a better throw than Brohm's that didn't require an outstanding catch.
  9. He sure looked better than Stevie. Both had similar opportunities to make nice grabs and Stevie dropped his whereas Chad made the more difficult of the two catches.
  10. I disagree, I think him and Bob Ryan have been great this week.
  11. Exactly. He was absolutely pathetic his last year in school. Not to mention, he has a weird delivery that has made him extremely inaccurate. During his one good year, he still completed only 56% of his passes. Just because he is a known quantity does not mean we should pick him up for the hell of it. This was the season he decided to come out on... YEAR CMP ATT YDS CMP% YPA LNG TD INT SACK RAT 2009 191 351 2632 54.4 7.50 65 20 20 15 124.82
  12. Naw, I think he's actually one of the better at ESPN. There's more quality than crap, folks just tend to point out the negative.
  13. That's the impression I got too. He seems not to be a douche like everyone is making him out to be. I thought it was funny he was wearing a Taco Bell hat.
  14. That's what I was thinking too. I know I should be positive now, but these nagging injuries are the type that never allow a person to return to pre-injury form. F*#k my life.
  15. 1) So untrue. So the millions of functioning smokers who raise families and make six or seven (or any salary for that matter)figures, contribute to society etc are losers? That is a convienent stereotype, a crutch of sorts, for the anti-pot crowd. 2) Hardly. My condolences of course, but I don't know too many people who after getting stoned have the ambition to do anything physically strenuous.
  16. I'm pretty freaking sure the team is holding him out because it's in the best interest of the team (his health). He's not doing it by his own choosing. I don't need to source this common knowledge, do I?
  17. I've got diehard Steelers friends who literally take a week off during summer and go to Latrobe to drink and watch training camp. We've debated the merits of the Bill's signing him when it was known we needed help and the conversation switched gears a bit when the Steelers got him. Naturally he was a topic of discussion when they got back from their trip. They said he was routinely beaten by their LBs in pass blocking situations (if he played OT here) and was also having problems w/ interior linemen (if he played inside here, however unlikely). I also saw the game, and while no scout myself, he didn't seem all that impressive.
  18. Remember? There is a league-wide conspiracy, including media, to paint the Bills in a negative light...
  19. I think the starters will see about a quarter of action which will be nice to see what Spiller does w/ more of a workload. I'll closely watch Bell and the 1st unit line. Any soladarity is good, so a decent showing will be a confidence booster. I hope Maybin plays the whole game again. I can't see a reason not to, considering he is looking to start the season as a situational pass rusher anyways, wear and tear shouldn't be an issue with him. I feel as if Maybin's continual improvement will come as he plays more, not continued reps in practice that focus on techniques etc. Second teamers or not, he'll learn that a speed rush doesn't work 9/10 times. Go Bills!!
  20. I loved it when Chan said something to the effect that Stupar's "not real fast, doesn't run a 4.5 and he won't blow you away as a blocker...but he's better than adequate..." That summed up a lot for me there.
  21. Most people who appreciate good bud don't purchase from the brick stuff coming through from Mexico. College students, daily smokers, and those with the means to purchase better product seek higher quality goods coming from our Canadian friends. Or, they simply grow it themselves, thus removing themself from the cartel equation altogether. The stuff the cartels is selling goes to the inner-city or is the stuff you smoked for the first time and realized that pot isn't all that good.
  22. That's a bit ridiculous don't you think?
  23. So true. The diaspora of Buffalonians has given us a fairly broad US fanbase. I tend to find many more Bill's fans across the US when I travel compared to other medium sized markets.
  24. Trent probably shouldn't, you're right, but I can't see unless someone drastically outplays him that he will not be the starter week one. I know everyone is excited to see Brohm, but do we really think he can do anything with the second unit. I hate having to say "when I saw him in camp" because I'm not a scout, but he does nothing special the other three can't do. It sucks, but we're stuck with three back-ups and one unknown. On the other hand, that would be refreshing to see Chan actually give him a shot with the starters if he drastically outplayed Trent and Fitz (on tape) this Thursday. That would at least prove to me that there is indeed an open comp. still going on in camp.
