  1. Book it man, first night of the draft, this place will M E L T D O W N no matter what what happens. I see a certain logic to @Shaw66‘s thinking. Can’t-miss, slam-dunk QBs are pretty rare in the draft. And even those can fail spectacularly (see: Leaf, Ryan). So much of it is about the coaching, the scheme, and the pieces around him. Would Tom Brady, a sixth round backup from Michigan, be the supposed GOAT if he wasn’t paired up with Belichick? So while, yes, you want to find the most objectively talented players you can, you also need to consider all of those countless other variables when picking a QB. We all know every team’s QB board this year starts with names like Darnold, Rosen, Mayfield, etc... But there’s probably not very many teams who rank them in the same order. Why? Because each team does it’s best job to analyze the QBs as players, as people and as pieces of the puzzle. Not just who has the best release or five step drop, but who’s got the best intellect, head on their shoulders, etc. Teams are handing millions of dollars to 22-year olds, so they very rightly do their homework on those people. They arrive at the best conclusion for their own situation, and make the best choice they can. All I can do is trust that our front office knows what it’s doing and makes one of the good choices this year. None of us can pretend to know how the careers of any of these players will unfold.
  2. Seriously. My pitchfork is sharpened, I just got a new wick installed on my torch. Awaiting word from the angry mob on what to do about McBeanmott.
  3. In the past 72 hours, I have wanted Beane fired, and then rehired. Now that I learn of this hole filled with glaring, I want him fired again.
  4. Can you dress yourself, and tell the difference between your/you’re? Congratulations, your better than Bleacher Report.
  5. What’s less likely to get read? One linear thread with 10 pages? Or 10 repetitive single page threads? Your point there belies what I think is the real motivation for the “I’LL START ALL THE DAMN THREADS I WANT” crowd. You think your take is special. You think your take is unique. Chances are, it’s not.
  6. It’s become more and more clear why the Bills shut down the BBMB. Why host all that crap on their own dime? Now it’s someone else’s problem.
  7. Good post. I don’t think the point is to say this year’s QB class will produce 3 HOFers, I think it’s to say that all the draft wizards, hours spent on mock drafts and message board tantrums can’t possibly predict how things will play out. See also: Teabag Manning and Ryan Leaf. Those dudes were practically a coin flip on draft night.
  8. So are we backing off on FIRE BEANE NOW? Maybe put him on some sort of performance improvement plan instead?
  9. One of the draft previews called him Mike Vick with a better head on his shoulders. I'd take that in a heartbeat.
  10. Couple of new guys sitting behind us the last two years regularly and loudly dropped the N-bomb in regards to Tyrod. I spent a decade living down south, and by far the most heinous racist bullsh*t I've ever heard out of peoples mouths, without question, has been in WNY. Yup. They are definitely a non-zero segment of the anti-Tyrod, anti-EJ, anti-Lamar crowd.
  11. I agree. It makes me wonder at what price the torch and pitchfork crowd would NOT be pissed off at Beane about this. Or is it simply blind rage that the Jets moved up at all, regardless of of the particulars?
  12. OMFG I FORGOT ABOUT THE FRANK REICH ANGLE. QUICK, TO THE NEW THREADMOBILE!
  13. See that’s the problem, when there are five threads on the same topic on the front page at the same time, it’s a jumbled incoherent mess. Pick and choose among identical threads? You prefer that?
  14. Fine guys. Start all the threads. Collect your participation trophies. Coherence is is so overrated. Good job.
  15. Original topic. A precious and unique snowflake, like me. Mods, please pin.
  16. This post has it all: - HOT TAEKS - Polls so unscientific they can best be described as “potato” - Inapporiate use of the keyword function - LAMP repetitiveness Masterfully done, OP, really great work.
  17. For the first time in this thread, we agree.
  18. All I'm saying is I don't know how this is going to all play out. And you seem to feel you do, because of JP Losman and reasons.
  19. Right. Well, drought's over, Beane can't answer for those past 17 years, and the draft is still six weeks away. Everyone should put away the vodka and sleeping pills.
  20. Don't discount the Giants' PR disaster after they benched Eli last year. I'm currently texting with a buddy in NYC who's a big Gints fan, and he definitely thinks they need to be careful about drafting QBs this year after that debacle. He feels they need to prioritize OL and DL.
  21. If people insist on using the Bills' past results as a predictor of future results, then you can't ignore how the Jets have biffed on EVERY SINGLE TIME they traded up into the top 5 (see the linked tweet above).
  22. So you know what Beane's plan is? And the Giants? And think the Colts weren't fielding multiple offers? And don't realize the Jets' #6 pick probably made their offer more palatable than anything the Bills could offer without giving up the farm? If Beane has demonstrated anything thus far, it's strong negotiating skills and patience. Are you able to dress yourself?
