  2. Tepper promises not to throw cold water if Canales doesn't win right away
  3. Jim Plunkett won two Superbowls. Elway didn't win until he had Terrell Davis. I like Cook but he's not a gamechanger. Maybe a star RB is what would improve our fortunes the fastest and preserve Josh.
  4. surprised he didn't go to an NFC team to avoid his brother.
  5. Things got weird when he had Matt Patricia coaching offense and his OC coaching defense in 2022. That felt like he was experimenting in real time for no apparent benefit to the team. Was there ever an explanation for that? Maybe he finally outsmarted himself. It would be strangely abrupt for his career to end this way. I don't think he has the leverage to go in to a new team and negotiate control over personnel given his abysmal track record in the draft. I can more easily see him in Washington than Atlanta.
  6. it felt like he checked out emotionally when we were 6-6 and his brother was tweeting for him to leave.

  9. There's a difference between thinking this was a championship team versus this year was our best chance. I thought we could catch KC in a SB hangover year and that our real nemesis was Cincy. After Burrow went down, I thought things were starting to fall our way. When we slid to 6 - 6, I didn't think we'd make the playoffs. But as we chalked up wins to 11-6 it felt like we had momentum. Beating KC and Dallas gave us our bona fides. Now that I look back, did I really think Andy Reid would lose to us twice in one season? Probably not. Did I think we could beat the Ravens? Definitely not. Clappy coached some good performances out of the D but even at full strength our defense scares no one.
  10. How do the Rams find guys like Nacua and Kupp?
  11. Unless Terry is all in on the likes of Harbaugh or Belichick, we are keeping Beane and McDermott. In any other market, their track record would be considered success. Whether we are willing to admit or not, that tandem has resulted in a lot of post season football and organizational stability. If Terry still wants these two around, the only other person who could affect a change is Josh. Josh is the franchise and when he decides he's heard enough of Clappy, that's when change will happen. I am surprised everyone is talking about our offensive roster when our defense has zero impact players. We have no notable pass rushers, tacklers or ball hawks. There is no intimidation factor from our D that requires specific game planning by our opponents, whatsoever. The Von Miller experiment has failed. He's either done or not a fit for our scheme. As there is no other legit sack threat, I suspect our opponents can key on him without fearing an Aaron Donald elsewhere on the LOS. When you are as close to the top as we are, there is no obvious move to push us the rest of the way. Blowing everything up would set us back a few years. When you have a great QB, it masks a lot of your deficiencies. Waiting for other team's stars to retire or get old isn't a strategy. We will be dealing with Mahomes, Jackson, Stroud, and Burrow for a decade. This team is like the Marino era Dolphins - always waiting for our QB to bail them out. Most days he does but if that's all you have as a threat, that's all the opposition needs to focus on. The best we can hope for is getting compensatory draft picks for departing veterans and trading those into a position for some playmakers in the draft or FA.
  12. If this is true, our team is run by a bunch of juvenile morons. This is totally classless
  13. McDermott is the reason we got this far. Firing him now would be the height of stupidity
  14. I have no criticism for our players or coaches. There were no stupid plays, bad calls or mental meltdowns. Our defense was decimated by injury. We were up against the defending world champs who weren't going to roll over. The field goal kick to tie got blown away by the lake effect
