  1. The only thing I find annoying is the ignorance. Yesterday they were gonna run all over us as we have a terrible run defence and have done nothing to address it in the offseason apparently! Then when we hammer them today its because they were rubbish, nothing to do with us!
  2. I am a west coast Bills fan though it's the west coast of the UK rather than the US. I live in Wales which is rugby country and is something you are just born with and though I am passionate about rugby, football is my sporting life. As I said in a previous post on a different thread I have a large family in Buffalo and I have pictures of me at about 2 year old wearing Bills sweaters etc. I was given no choice in the matter and even knowing what I know now I wouldnt change a thing. The Bills are everything to me, they are all I think about somedays. Games start at 6pm here so catching the third lot of games on a Sunday (1am start) are a bit of a nuisance but thankfully (or not as the case may be) we never play in that time slot. If you take my affiliation with the Bills from those photographs I have been a fan all my life, which is 35 years now and I know WHEN we win the big one I will be a weeping mess but I dont think winning it all will mean as much to any other set of fans as it will to us. Just thinking about how it will feel makes me well up. I loved reading some of the stories from you guys about growing up in Buffalo and going to the stadium just to have a look. Its feels wonderful to belong to the Bills Nation.
  3. I agree, Bruce looks very polished and would do far better than most on TV. Have to say though of all things to get Bruce Smith talking about, a driving related topic wouldnt be one of them.
  4. Why don't these people do their homework, spent the whole recap of the Bills draft saying that Dareus will not be good at the nose and the Bills got the wrong fella if thats what they intend doing with him which is what he thinks they will do. Honestly, lazy journalism. It always seems to be the case when it comes to the Bills.
  5. I have an issue with this because I consider myself a true Bills fan and yet I have never made it to a game yet. I live in the UK but my family are from Buffalo and my Aunt used to bring me jerseys, hats and programmes when I was toddling about. I have pictures of me as a 3 year old with my knitted Bills jumper on. I cried through the 90's when they got so close you could almost taste it, I cried through the 2000's when we were abysmal. I believe every year will be our year regardless of the team/coach/gm. I have watched every game possible even though it meant at the time linking to feeds which were cut off after 5 minutes to link to another feed before you could purchase a game ticket package here in Wales. I cringed at every crumby draft pick and then defended them to all my friends here who support whichever team is the flavour of the month. I have dealt with over 20 years of the Bills rollercoaster and never thought of jumping ship. The Bills are my sporting passion, my sporting past and present and now with my baby due in October they will be my sporting future as I dont see why I have to be the only schmuck in my family who has to go through the heartache the Bills provide me. I do not do it because they have been great or they are great but because next year they will always be great! When they win the whole thing, there will be no-one on this earth prouder than me.
  6. It's too late to worry about what pick he was. Thats gone. Now you have to think is our team better with him or without him.
  7. I think I may be to blame actually. When the Bills last got to the playoffs I had a fair amount of money. That week I lost it all in Vegas. Since then I have been destitute. However I think we can all see a way out of this for the Bills to progress. Send all cash donations directly to me through my website. www.fleecingtheunsuspectingfools.com
  8. Well paint my @rse purple and call me Violet! I wasnt aware I would be linking to the author! Great piece.

  10. Heres the latest pic of troup. http://lockerz.com/s/98138839 If he really is weighing in at that amount I am impressed as it looks to be muscle!
  11. hahaha it just got serious. Donte was giving it all that " I'm outta here and happy" stuff, then this gets posted. Buddy Nix on @DonteWhitner: "Donte doesn't seem to want to be here, so he won't" - If you missed it, download the podcast at www.wedg.com two minutes later Donte changes his tune but with a brilliant ending. "I never said I DIDN'T wanna be in buffalo...no more speculation please...I'm watching youtube Illuminati" I dont normally read his posts but I thought this was quite amusing.
  12. +1 I believe in the freedom of speech but some people should have to pass a medical before it's allowed. You'd think a brain would be a requirement.
  13. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/667927-2011-nfl-draft-buffalo-bills-wont-select-cam-newton-because-he-is-black Enjoy. My favourite bit is this Buffalo has passed on many different black quarterbacks over the years including Donovan McNabb, Michael Vick, David Garrard, Tavaris Jackson, Josh Johnson just to name a few and if this crazy notion is true then the Buffalo Bills will also pass on QB, Cam Newton. They also passed on Tom Brady, Brett Favre and Drew Brees.
  14. Nah, we'll just put some drug abuse rumours out about them!
  15. With us picking at three the whole draft is open for us to get top quality from the very outset. As we all do, I tried to think where the Bills would use their picks. At three we should be getting someone to build this team around no matter if that means a run stuffing DT, a shut out corner, a true No1 receiver or a franchise QB. However whatever they do at 3 will dictate what they do with the rest of the draft and how much talent there is deep into the process. With that in mind do you leave the D-line in the first because this class is so deep with quality there that you will be able to pick quality in that position at #34? There are also a number of other factors such as our defensive front. Gailey has said so many times now that we will be playing multiple fronts. In terms of rushing the passer, something we have been appalling at we should be set (barring injuries) in a 3-4 front with Merriman and Moats next year, but how do we shape up in a 4-3? Kelsay will play one end, and I know how you guys feel about him, but who will play the other DE position? Von Miller, whilst being a quality OLB is no DE. Bowers or Quinn should be the only considerations if the Bills go DE with the number 3 pick. Blaine Gabbert does excite me and all the talk after his pro day is that he is franchise QB material. If Gailey is high on him and thinks he is THAT good then he HAS to pick him with the number three pick. I think this is the way Gailey is thinking and I trust his judgment when it comes to QB's. If that's the case you have to look for defensive help for the remainder of the draft. One thing I have noticed where people post multiple drafts they change every player but changing a first pick shouldnt change your whole draft. Personally I would rather they trade back and get another second too but you cant plan for that so.... Nasty defence first 1. Fairley DT 2. Ayers DE/OLB 3. Pinkston OT 4. Sheppard ILB 4. Matthews ILB 5. Stanzy QB Franchise QB first 1. Gabbert QB 2. Ayers DE/OLB 3. Austin DT 4. Sheppard ILB 4. Matthews ILB Pass Rushing DE first 1. Bowers DE 2. Mallett QB 3. Pinkston OT 4. Sheppard ILB 4. Matthews ILB BTW as you can probably see I think Sheppard and Matthews will be the mainstay of our defense for years to come.
  16. I just dont see Mallet becoming a Bill. Nix and Gailey pushed for high character guys in the last draft, guys without a drug issue hanging over their heads (rightly or wrongly). Also Gailey has been known for excelling with mobile QB's and with Mallet being timed at 5.4 secs for the 40 that doesn't describe him. However, I think in years to come, this guy will be looked upon as the best QB in the draft and will be yet another "why did we take ......... when we could have gotten Mallet". It's all about personal opinion, and I trust in what Gailey and Nix are doing, but I think this guy is going to be the real deal.
  17. AdamSchefter Here's a shocker: Packers cut LB A.J. Hawk today.
  18. The point that was made is that having a low wonderlic score is a contributing factor to a RB's ability and skill level and it was proved incorrect. You have just taken the opportunity to go off topic and use it to slate the Bills (again). For an obviously intelligent person you are one miserable fella.

  20. haha I love how topics can go south! I live in the greatest country in the world too, Wales. Home is where the heart is guys!
  21. A serious question for you all. Even before this came up when Chan mentioned running multiple schemes I wondered whether that's a viable prospect long term or whether it was simply a way of transitioning from the 4-3 to the 3-4. So I guess my question for you guys is, is it possible to run both 3-4 and 4-3 on a permanent basis with positive results seeing as some people are 3-4 guys and some are 4-3 guys? Would this mean most of the roster would be taken up by front 7 players so we have the different ones to run the schemes that suit them best? I hope I have explained myself clear enough, apologies if not.
  22. I didnt intend for us to tke solace in the failings off others. My point was really to emphasise the crapshoot that is the draft and the fact that we keep looking back bemoaning failings of ours instead of looking forward. As someone already said there are more than whitner and Ngata. McLovin was taken before Ryan Clandy (if I remember rightly) and that was a mistake. What I am saying is so what! Get on with it and look to this year and what we already have to work with. I really don't think we are too far off but thats the optimist in me. Whats the strawman????
  23. Honestly I think I will have to learn about this ignore button.
  24. Where did I say this exactly? I dont want anyone to have to hurt themselves for us to win pal. As for the perrenial moaning I think the point is how many times do we have to hear the same arguement. Thats the point. I get it, Ngata is better than Whitner. Saying it over and over again does not validate your point further.
  25. I am writing this after years of listening to people on here moan and whine and I feel I have to get it out of my system. There are a number of topics which I feel need addressing so I will take them one by one. Here's my first one. Why did we draft him? Lets start with my biggest bug bear, it's not only aimed at this example but its the one that's used the most so I am going to call it the Whitner-Ngata case of 2006. Now for 5 years we have heard about the fact the Bills took Mr Whitner before Mr Ngata and how terrible this is. In HINDSIGHT then I agree with you, looking at how their careers have panned out since you'd have to say we made a mistake. However, lets get a few facts out there. There were 23 probowl players selected (and 2 UDFA's) after Mr Whitner not just Mr Ngata. This is an even bigger indictment on the Bills front office. However if you look at this draft in full you will see that 3 of the sides that drafted above the Bills also missed out on a probowler and instead selected Reggie Bush, A J Hawk and Michael Huff. In that same draft the first pick of the amazingly astute Patriots was Laurence Maroney at pick 21. Whilst not forgetting that running backs are a dime a dozen and only the Bills would think of picking one in the first round, if running back was their need they missed out on probowlers DeAngelo Williams, Jason Addai, Maurice Jones-Drew and Leon Washington. Also with his second round pick he selected Chad Jackson at pick 36. Who I hear you ask! If WR was his bag he could have selected Gregg Jennings, Brandon Marshall and Miles Austin. I put it to you that Belichick is a complete idiot! The fact that the pats now try to maximise the number of picks they have is a further example that the draft is a crapshoot and the more picks you have the better chance you have of hitting on one. I need to know how long I am going to hear about Mr Whitner and Mr Ngata as Mr Whitner is soon to depart. Could this still be going on in 20 years time? If so I have decided when hearing this comparison, from now on I am going to counter with "Can you believe the Bills selected John Pitts in the 67 draft when Hall of Famers Lem Barney and Ken Houston were still on the board. It's no wonder this organisation stinks"!
