  1. Guy is a beast, he is destroying M-state out there, way way way better than bowers. If we can't trade up for Luck then this is the guy we need. Plus we wouldn't have to covert him from some other position as he has been a 34 end his whole career at Alabama.

  2. Step 1/ Fans will spend the next 3.5 months dreaming about whom the Bills will draft and thinking that their guy will be the one taking the Bills over the hump. Many will have a TE in round 4 and think for certain that he will be a stud completely forgetting the fact that the Bills can't pick one.

Step 2/ Come draft day the Bills will pick somebody that surprises everybody, freak their fan out and shake Kiper's hair due at its foundation.

Step 3/ Fans will spend few more months going from extremely morose to pretty optimistic just before camp.

Step 4/ Camp rolls and pre-season around. A couple no name running backs will do well in the against the Bills defense in camp and the 4th string of whichever team they play in preseason. The fans get really excited. Those guys are gonna be studs.

Step 5/ Season starts. After 1 game, you get a real good feeling the Bills are gonna suck again. After 2, it becomes obvious. By game 4 they are out of the playoff race.

Step 6/ They win two games in a row against bottom feeders. This sites explodes with optimistic post crowning Gayley coach of the year.

Step 7/ Happy New Year. Repeat above from step 1.

God I hope not, but probably true.

  3. They're actually called "the orange" now. I believe, but I could be mistaken, that their name has to do with the large settlement of Irish Catholics in Syracuse.

It would be Irish Protestants being orange, green is for Catholics.

    Apparently not.

    PTR

Gender neutral  I'm so sick of this :censored: pc bull$#!t

  4. I agree about bowers he didn't impress me at all, he was slow off the snap and popped strait up instead of firing out. He definitely can't play line backer to tight in the hips.

However Luck is the real deal, he looked awesome last year as a sophomore. Mallet would be a good option though and he is way better than Newton or Blaine Gabbert regardless of what talking heads (McShay)say.

  5. "He" could be substituted for Mark Sanchez, Vince Young (at one time, at least), etc, too. Neither of them are yet top-15 QBs, and they might never be. Their draft positions afford them the benefit of the doubt and, in the case of Sanchez and Bradford, the branding of "poise" when they aren't getting the job done. I like Bradford, but I think you're right.

So you'd give up the chance at three high-potential players who could aid this roster for one high-potential player, who might be the best of them?

Would you give up Jim Kelly, Bruce Smith and Thurman Thomas (two high round ones and a two) for John Elway?

Dude it was a joke, see the smiley face?

  6. If Luck declares we should do whatever it takes to get him. I would give First and second and next years first, he is that good. Considering how poorly we have drafted early we wouldn't miss a beat. Maybe we should trade our top 3 picks every year to stock up on 7th rnd draft picks and entice UDFA to come since we don't have any high picks. :D

  7. Just thinking of all the players that the Bills let leave for whatever reason. Pat Williams; Winfield; Spikes; Clements; Molds; etc.; etc! How can this organization expect the young players to get mentored. The Bills Orginization is just not committed to winning. Every player who becomes of any worth ends up with another organization. Now this Organization has purged itself of every player that was a leader and/or a game changer. Who is left on this roster to lead this young team and teach these young players how to be leaders? It just irks me because this team could have all the pieces now. What hope is there that anything will change???

that is what coaches are for.

  8. Look BB…I know you worship at the church of Tim Tebow and have been on a Tebow crusade and that's fine.

But you're gonna say "I told you so" after just one statistically decent game?

    We'll see.

Sorry, can't help it, I wanted him so when I see bad things (78) about him it P!#$$ me off.

  9. Tidbit from end of a D&C article on the Bills:

ESPN Scouts Inc.'s top-10 picks for the 2011 NFL college draft (in order): Stanford QB Andrew Luck; Clemson DE Da'Quan Bowers; Auburn DT Nick Fairley; LSU CB Patrick Peterson; Georgia WR A.J. Green; Missouri QB Blaine Gabbert; North Carolina DE Robert Quinn; Nebraska CB Prince Amukamara; Alabama DT Marcus Dareus; Iowa DE Adrian Clayburn; Oregon State DT Stephen Paea. Washington QB Jake Locker is 23rd, Auburn QB Cam Newton 29th and Arkansas QB Ryan Mallett 31st.

Since Luck will either not be in this draft or be gone long before we pick, the one we have a shot at is the number 2 rated QB (per ESPN) is Blaine Gabbert of Missouri. I have not heard much about this prospect, has anyone on the board that has watched him play much that could give some input on him?

I like his play and the kid can run but he needs more experience in college.

  10. The early games weren't kind for coaches on the hot seat. Singletary led the way with his theatrical meltdown. But Eric Mangini and Fisher also lost and might have let any chance to keep their jobs slip away. It will be interesting to see if any more coaches join the list in a week. Buffalo's Chan Gailey hasn't had much time, but the Bills weren't competitive against the Pats

Yes , we got our asses kicked today , badly. But to insinuate that Chan could possibly be on the hot seat after today is stupid. The Bills have been competive against every team they played this year for the most part.

Chan is safe, bring on Rob Ryan.

  11. Maybe he's your guy...I like Fitz too...Sort of...I like his guts and his smarts for sure...But that does not mean I want the Bills to stop trying to improve the QB Position...

Consistancy compared to Losman and Edwards...Yes...Compared to the better QB's in the NFL?...Not so much...

Clausen was a 2nd Round Pick and just about everybody who needed a QB passed on him...So I'm not sure on how he really compares to the QB's that will be Drafted high in the 2011 Draft...I do know plenty of Teams were not high on Clausen...Plus he's a Rookie on a REALLY bad Team...We'll see how he does down the road...

I would not say having the 21st rated QB in the NFL who is completing 58% of his Passes (28th in the league) is reason enough to ignore a potential Franchise Player at the most important Position on the Team...Fitz is what he is, and he's not bad...But to think The Bills can't do better because Fitz is the epitome of consistancy is a bit ridiculous...They can do better...And they will try... B-)

Clausen was/is garbage. The only QB I liked last year was Tebow but Bradford has done well so you never know. I am not saying start him next year but groom him for a year or two behind Fitz. I have hoped and prayed Fits would stop the ints and the bad throws would go away but he has been the same since he got here which is a gutsy try-hard guy who is good but not good enough to be the franchise QB :(

  12. Evans was missed today.

Plain and simple. Two routes to the endzone, one to Jones, one to Roosevelt are BOTH caught by Evans, of this I'm sure. On Fitz's second pick Roosevelt randomly ran away from his spot just as Fitz pulled back to throw.

The young guns made some nice plays today, they're definitely scrappy, but even against a suspect pass D they couldn't get it done, couldn't get the separation deep, and did nothing to spread the D.

The middle of the field was an absolute minefield today (any word on Nelson?).

They don't seem to be on the same mental page as Fitz, yet. And Lee's veteran presence was sorely missing today.

I said last week--quite adamantly--that the young fellas showcased some promise. Today, they took a step back.

As of today, we definitely still need Evans on this roster.

Yeah, Evans would have helped Johnson catch all those drops.

  13. Says the guy who calls out the dude who only says +1, not the one who called everyone clowns (which was, of course, accurate).

Yeah, I have a million better ideas than freaking out over one bad game and reaching for Mallet with what is now a top 5 pick. They include, and specifically start with drafting to improve our front 7. Other options would be emulating the best team of my generation and trading down to a comfortable spot to get a guy like Castonzo, Carimi, or Nate Solder, and using the (gasp) extra picks on the front 7. Then I'd use the second rounder on the front 7 again unless Newton finds his way into the second round.

We already had Drew Bledsoe. I don't want Mallet in the top 15 let alone the top 4.

By calling him out calls out the guy he quoted...

I have been calling for front 7 and OT all year but none of that matters without a franchise QB. We can get:

    2.Gabe Carimi ROT 6' 7" 327

    3.Jeremy Beal OLB 6' 3" 260

    4.Casey Mattews SILB6' 2" 235

    4.Kendrick Ellis NT 6' 5" 340...

and still address front 7 and get our QB.
