  1. Maybe its because I am biased but I think Jim Kelly should be on the list. I think they are at 20 now and both Marino and Elway have been listed so I know they wont put Kelly ahead of them.

Should he be considered one of the NFL's top 100 players of all time?

    Yes

  2. I guess you were sleeping when they taught the class on how to interpret graphs? lol

Brohm has like 2.3% of the vote, dude.

Yeah I screwed up I thought the % was below the player, But hey it got people lookin

  3. You'll never get anyone here to admit it, but QB is no longer the #1 weakness.

The biggest weakness is Linebacker and pass rushers

Don't forget NT. I love Kyle but he would be way better as an end in the 34 and troupe is the same put those guys at end next year and draft Robert Quinn 1st pick then

Main > 2011 Big Board > Jerrell Powe

  4. The reason why so many QBs (and other players)get hurt is they don't do any hitting in practice. You know how a boxer conditions himself? He gets hit all day. Ever watch the old guy getting blasted in the stomach by a cannon ball, he did this twice a day six days a week! Now players don't need this much abuse but hitting twice a week would go along way towards toughening these guys up and we could see good tackling again in the NFL.

  5. Something tells me that we should give him a two year pass to develop players and implement his system the correct way.

Yes, if we don't we will be the raiders east. We need to give any coach time to implement there system and Chan is a proven offensive genius, Edwards is not proven so I am not sure about him. Although the front office made a huge mistake in over estimating our 43 personnel switching to a 34. We should have broke the bank on Casey Hampton and Karlos Dansby, traded back and drafted Jason Pierre-Paul, Rob Gronkowski with the Troupe pick and Terrence Cody with the second 2nd round pick.

  6. Okay, FIRST let me say that I was a supporter of Trent Edwards when he first came along here and Buffalo and probably defended him way longer than I should have.

ALSO I have been known to say that Fitz doesn't have the same upside as a guy like Brohm does.

Now that we have that out of the way.

I was downright blown away with Fitzy yesterday. I don't know when the last time I saw someone command our offense the way he did. I admire his gunslinger attitude and his willingness to do whatever it takes to win.

Did he win? No, and he also threw some very bad pics. However if you look at it the other way, that pass to Lee Evans was a VERY ill advised throw. I think Chan is starting to like the guy a lot.

I guess my question is, if he can continue to perform like this (as well as the receivers) what shot do you give Fitzpatrick of convincing Chan he is the guy of the future? All I can say is I will never have to worry about calling him Captain Checkdown.

If continues to play like this and clean up the turnovers a bit he will be a no brainer. However it is still early and we will need a whole season to know for for sure. I believe he will continue to improve because that's all he has done since he has been here, which is a tribute to his high intelligence, you don't graduate from Harvard being a dummy. My only knock on him is overall strength as it is clear he doesn't lift weights. If he added basic strength lifts to his training along with bent arm dumbbell pullovers which mimics the throwing motion he would be able to really fire it in there and be more of a gunslinger with less turnovers.

  7. Robert Quinn- DE- North Carolina

    6-5 270lbs Junior

    Stats:

    2008- 35 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, 2 sacks, 2 forced fumbles

    2009- 52 tackles, 19 tackles for loss, 11 sacks, 6 forced fumbles

    Pros:

Robert Quinn is expected to be the next great pass rusher out of North Carolina since Julius Peppers. Quinn is a super athletic defensive end that possesses all the physical skills to take over games in the NFL. Quinn has a rare initial burst off the line which allows him to get into the opponents backfield. Quinn’s quick burst and overall speed makes him a target for double teams. However, he has developed several pass rush moves that allow him to get around those double teams. His 6 forced fumbles last season only enhance his playmaking ability. Quinn makes his living in the offensive backfield.

    Cons:

There is some concern that Quinn is undersized at 270lbs. However, he is just entering his Junior season and will have time to fill out weight wise. Along with a few extra pounds teams would like to see Quinn get stronger. He has the speed rush down pat but needs to develop a power rush move. He also could stand to be stronger and improve his run stopping ability. Some scouts also feel that Quinn could move to OLB in a 3-4 defensive scheme but he would need to improve his coverage skills to do so.

    Thoughts:

As of now we have Robert Quinn ranked #7 on our 2011 NFL Big Board. Quinn’s athletic ability and size separates him from the rest of the defensive end class. He has been incredibly productive at UNC and with another good year he will likely bolt to the NFL.

    Projected Round:

Depending on team needs you could see Quinn go as high as #1 or #2. He has so much potential that certain teams will not be able to pass on him. Mario Williams was the last DE to go #1 overall.

  8. I think the only other possibility in '85 was Doug Flutie, as far as a no. 1 overall. But I was a kid too, and more interested in Rowdy Roddy Piper, myself.

For what it's worth, here's what one draft site has to say about Clayborn from this past weekend against Gabe Carimi. They don't seem to think he'd be much of a pass rusher at the NFL level.

So What D player would you draft?

  9. I didn't watch collage football when Bruce Smith was drafted (had pro wrestling to watch, I was young) but was he the obvious overall choice or where there "better" prospects available? The Reason I ask is Adrian Clayborn is ranked #1 one on many draft boards and am wondering if he is comparable to Bruce? I saw him play Saturday and thought he was pretty good but I wasn't blown away like I was with with Ndamakong Suh?
