  1. And according to his college coach at Maryland, he did have motivational and work ethic problems.
  2. Man I hope someone told those OLBs that there not on the roster. They could probably be doing other things.
  3. So the draft is over and most media outlets are complaining that we didn't address our LT or QB needs in the first 4 rounds. Jared Gaither and Jamal Brown have been bandied around in the media and on this board as possible options for the Bills need. This however isn't going to happen. Jared Gaither, chronic foot injuries aside, is in the same mold of the guy we traded to the Eagles. He was drafted in the later rounds and turned into a starting caliber LT. He slipped that far because of his work ethic, unlike Peters who was a tight end. He got into a good system and was coached up to become a good young LT in this league. However, Baltimore must have saw some deficiency in his play that necessitated them picking a LT in the First round last year. A guy the Bills passed on. Brown was out all last season with a back injury. He is 29. He would be a stop gap for a couple years and it would be a risk paying him FA LT money when he didn't play ball last year. Our offense seems to have some holes that will need to be addressed, there is no denying that. But our defense might have had the tougher task going into this offseason. Few teams have had success in switching from a 4-3 to a 3-4 in one year. We have alot of promising young talent on that side of the ball and we added more. I think Chan was trying to make that switch as easy as possible for the team. that's why they went out and stacked up on DEs and LBs. You can never have enough of either one in this system. Obviously they are going to run some hybrid defenses throughout the course of the game, but now that they have the needed talent in place they can be as confident as possible that there defense will not be the weak unit. As I see it Nix is thinking this will be a 2 year "rebuilding" process. In quotes because obviously these guys will need to show improvement over last years debacle. In saying this I think that the HC and GM decided that Chan could coach up what he has on the offensive side of the ball this year. Waiting until next year to draft or bring in the starting LT and hopefully Qb of the future. We drafted some adequate backup line man in calloway and Wang and if they can shine in whatever action they get this year, who knows, diamonds in the rough. By all accounts next years Qb class will be ripe for the picking and I'm sure a LT prospect or 3 will rise above the rest of the comp. This year is going to be about toughness, mental and physical, and who is going to be around for the rebuilding process. We have I think, the most rookie FA signed of any team this year. Our draft was made up of character, self motivated guys. Let the auditions for the Superbowl run of 2012 begin!
  4. Thats all I needed to see to disagree with your opinion.
  5. Yeah I've been saying Kyle Williams is our best D lineman since last preseason. Although on this team its not really saying much. Its nice to have some outside sources confirm my feelings on this kid. He is whatever you ask him to be, and I am sure they are going to put him in situations where he will be as disruptive as possible.
  6. By all accounts, well Buffalo biased accounts, Namaan Roosevelt made the biggest splash among the free agents at camp.
  7. They did draft a first round LT tackle last year though. That has to say something about what they see in this kid.
  8. Yeah he hasn't been healthy, thats the problem. There is no way in hell that we would trade our best defensive lineman with huge potential plus a fourth (are you serious?) for a 29 year old LT coming off an injury that made him miss a year. If anything it would be Williams for Brown and a 3rd.
  9. Man I was really with you until you wrote that last sentence. If 2 of our 6 glaring needs are going to have to wait until next year to be addressed thats fine with me. There will actually be QBs that will be worth making plays on. If Levi Brown looks good so be it but I'm sure we will be making QB and LT our top 2 picks next year.
  10. I think when you get older as a coach most of that phoniness either gets worn off or people lose respect for you. Hes a renown teacher, his lead in to the QB question from his answer from another question proves, in my opinion, his intelligence. He knew that was going to be the interviewers harpoon and he took her big question away from her, downplaying the situation. I guess he has stated publically that he won't discuss individual players, how well he can hold to this is yet to be seen, but it seems like part of his plan to instill a new culture on the team. So does he have the qualities that you look for in a HC? Some of them at least. Does he have enough qualities to get our team back to a level of respectability? I don't know but i sure hope so.
  11. If you are okay starting mediocre talent at Qb then maybe you need to rethink your statement on what would be unfair to the paying public. Why would Brown be at a disadvantage to BB or any of the other QBs? Brohm has played in 2 NFL games. Fitz came in to fill in for some games last year but was obviously not the answer. TE is pretty much shot. He seems to have the most proven capabilities but if he can't pull his head out of his ass then I don't want to see him on the field, let alone the team. Oh and not to mention that they are all learning a new offense, one in which Brown and Brohm have a head start on the competition. So It could be argued he could be as equal or more ready to run this offense. If you have a team that consistently loses with the product that is on the field, it MUST be changed. We can't go through another year of finding out if TE is our future or if Fitz could somehow become a starter in this league. If the trends of play continue into this year it makes a lot more sense to find out what our 2 unproven QB commodities have. 2 guys who lit it up in college by the way.
  12. well if you were thinking more clearly you would have to recognize that all these QB "starved" teams repeatedly passed on QBs round after round. There was actually a number of QBs sitting around alot longer then people expected them to. So what your saying is since we had a 4th round grade on him we should have drafted him that high knowing that there were a number of other QBs out there. If Nix and Gailey didn't see something in Brown they wouldn't have drafted him at all. They had all but about 5 starting positions to fill. They weren't going to take a flier on a QB in the late rounds if they didn't expect him to be here and contribute.
  13. Yeah Tom Brady wasn't an unknown quantity, he played major D1 ball at Michigan. Thats in the Big Ten.
  14. Yeah I'm sure JP is available. He can run, sack, fumble us right out of the playoff hunt again.
  15. Thank you kind sir Thats why I'm on the practice squad and your an all pro.
  16. Don't you get a big dog if your compensating? Sort of like a big 4x4 or a fast red sports car. Or even being the loudest idiot in the room?
  17. First of all 5 secs was a guess. The video can be found on BB.com. Secondly I was not insinuating that TE was done, unlike a large amount of other posters here. What I was stating, and maybe too simply, was that BB's ball looks so much more effortless to throw. Its the kind of throwing motion that scouts seem to be looking for (opposite of Tim Tebows throwing motion and comparable to mannings) I also agree that the brain of a QB is what will ultimately decide his effectiveness. In so stating however, physical tools are what gets the job done, and from what i saw BB's tools seem to eclipse TEs.
  18. This jimmy Clasuen as punk garbage is pretty ridiculous. If I were him i would have a chip on my shoulder by now. A QB with some sort of backbone would be a welcome addition to alot of ****ty teams. I'm sure if he throws a ball to Steve Smith he could care less if jimmy seems to have an heir of confidence(entitlement). He is a rookie, but who do the Panthers have to play Qb? Matt someone I can't remember. They need a leader who isn't apt to break someones face if they are challenged in practice. Clausen could have fallen in to the perfect situation, but drama is alot more interesting to write about then what his deep out looked like. people who put credibility into all these rumor sites are the same ones who perpetuate Clausen as punk.
  19. Well the most important part of the observation was the throwing motion. It doesn't matter if your in full pads or throwing from one knee with your shirt off, its obvious that Trent pushes the ball and Brohm throws the ball. that was my point.
  20. No he doesn't and why would he? That will really help these guys learn the playbook and how would he communicate with the rookies he's supposed to be teaching?
  21. It seems to me that Brian Brohm's throwing motion and deep ball are soooo much prettier then T.E. I want someone who is going to throw the ball not push it. This is probably why Trent can't handle throwing a deep pass. But it was only a small clip and he had no pads on so...
