Martavis Bryant....say it over and over again until you watch the kid and let your eyes and open mind do the convincing...I even posted a highlight video to make it easier along with some Combine Info... -
Posting this again....it's worth it Martavis Bryant....6'4", Official 4.42 at the Combine, a Junior, 39 Vertical, leader in the broad jump and check out his highlights...this kid would be a great pick-up in the 3rd...btw, watched his combine yesterday, he was fluid, great hands, and impressive...that's the only word to describe the kid...impressive. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EBY_lsCjCT4 There's 4 or 5 catches in that highlight that really show what this kid can do...catches balls in contest with defenders, has pull-away speed, can go up and get it and catches in traffic....talk about a #1 prototype, coupled with his measurables yesterday at the Combine, I think he can sneak into the 2nd Round...too good to pass up, no pun intended there...

The key to that statement is Bryant, just posted this in the pinned combine thread, that kid is special....mark my words, wherever he ends up, hopefully B-Lo, he will end up being a regular on highlight reels on Sunday nights... Ha! Sorry Bro, didn't mean to trigger any PTSD symptoms, lol.... And I understand your caution, but that was merely a highlight, if you look at the rest of the information and what highlights are available, this kid is something pretty good to great....his Combine numbers don't lie and he had decent numbers for a Junior...not to mention, I didn't even know WHO this kid was until I watched the Combine yesterday and what really took me by surprise was his on field drills that looked better than most of the other guys out there...what else I didn't see in the highlights, selfish gamemanship...i'm sure he celebrates, but he usually did a couple head bobs and gave the ball to the official, I like that...if you haven't watched what highlights are available (other than the one that gives you chills), do yourself a favor and watch them...then look up his numbers at the Combine, if you don't already know them...pretty impressive...and with the talent depth in this Draft he will probably last until the late 2nd maybe 3rd...some will say later, but when you get the NFL's attention at the Combine there's usually ONE team that will press a round early just to have him on their roster...

Martavis Bryant, this kid is going to be a stud in the NFL...check out his YouTube Highlights, it's worth the watch... Trust me...this kid declared as a Junior, he's going to be gold. And his 2 TDs in the bowl game, Red Zone, check this one out...nice! http://collegespun.c...-from-tajh-boyd#

With all this talk about Mike Evans, take a look at the Martavis Bryant kid from Clemson. Stands 6'4" and ran a 4.42, he declared as a Junior and had 42 receptions, 828 yards, and 7 TDs, with two in the bowl game. Plus, watching this kid during the combine doing his routes and catches was fluid, smooth, and appeared to have great hands. No doubt he moved up the Draft board after yesterday, dude was impressive! Also had a 39 inch vertical! Great prospect!

Bills Projected at $25 Million Under the Cap
BigBuff423 replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In that case, I would be "guaranteed" $8 million to work for one year with promises of gaining an additional lucrative contract. And yeah, I might be miffed, but it's also my doing considering it's not like they're only offering $8 million with no hopes of more money, they offered $40 million with a heft portion guaranteed.....now the other firm offered me more money guaranteed, but I have to move my family, go into a new work environment, have new co-workers (whom I may or may not like), etc....when my original firm still values me and pays me well....and gave me my first job out of college -

I respectfully disagree....for a variety of reasons...but I've left them all out in other posts and don't want to rehash them all over again... -

It's in reference when to when Byrd refused to sign the tender, sat out for a bit, and then took the time to get into game shape / injury issue and ended up getting paid more money...in the world I live in, you get what you're paid and when you work you get paid...if you want to work somewhere else, by all means feel free to do that, but you take the risk of having no job...in the NFL, risk doesn't really exist unless you've been a marginal player or are at the end of your career in either case, you would either take the Tag - happily! - or accept what the team deems a resonable offer. That is succinctly on point....whatever they do with him...just G-Damn it, do it soon! So the team and the fans can move on....please.... -

And even in that, your statement provided enough affirmation to answer my question, and I appreciate it, even though you weren't responding to my question - which I didn't take personally - just letting you know that I understand it was in response to NoSaint and not me...thanks though and hope that it didn't cause you any consternation.... -

But rarely do you keep said employee when he tells you he wants more money and then refuses to show up for work...in the NFL, you get paid anyways and get a raise....so, to me how the player handles the issue is as much about character and ethics as it is about protecting their financial future.... -

Good deal...wasn't really trying to press him, just didn't want to make any assumptions either...but, that doesn't mean I'm going to be some touch-hole and call him a liar, b/c that's exactly the kind of thing we need *LESS* of around here...if it puts him / her in a diffcult position that's fair and I'll rescind curiousity and question... I agree...if he's "commanding" north of $10m in average, then Tag and Trade it is...but, there are those who believe you pay him whatever he wants just b/c the BILLS currently "have" the money to do it.... -

I'd say if Chancellor is making roughly $7 mil and Berry making roughly $8.3, I'd split the difference and pay him $7.65 million / yr for six years and let him either take it or take the Tag and Trade option, up to him... And for those who say but Polomolu is making $9 mil +, I'd ask you to go back to the Steelers and ask them how they feel about that choice?? Over-paying for an aging Safety and who hasn't come anywhere near that value over the last two seasons.... -

I'm not being sarcastic or trying to paint you into a corner, but by "specific info" are meaning someone in the BILLS organization has made these exact statements to you either in person or via correspondence? Just wondering what the "specific info" is referring to, not being a douche-hole....well, if you knew me you might think so, but then THAT would be on specific info... -

No, based on position...let's say EJ miraculously turns in to Peyton 2.0, you pay him..period. When Dareus is ready for a new contract, you pay him...period. When Glenn, if he keeps producing and getting better, you pay him...period. Kiko as well...but Safeties, RBs, TEs, and to a lesser extent WRs you just don't over-pay for the *PLAYER*, you pay for the *POSITION* and Offensive / Defensive Line along with QB and Corners are the types of positions that demand top tier money and where you spend most of your Cap money....Safeties, RBs, some LBs, and TEs become interchangeable at a certain value point....so while I find it a bit too expensive given where this team is right now, paying Super Mario super money at least addresses a *POSITION* where you spend the money, although I would argue you could probably get better value and almost as good production as some of the guys coming on the market this year that will give you better bang-for-buck...but, whatever, it is what it is.... -

"Never" might be a bit of an overstatement...but on the whole, I agree with you. Player says, "I've got to think of my family", it's a awww shucks way of saying, I want my millions so my family and I can live in the lap of luxury unitl I'm pooping in a wheelchair and having strippers shower me with their....whoops, too far... Meanwhile, there's a "Sanitary Engineer", or as we used to call them, um - Janitors, who's trying to "think of their family" for $13 / hour... -

At this point, you Tag and trade him...if nothig more than for the message of "don't hold out and demand more money when you've been given a fair deal this year"...in recent years the BILLS have proven their wiling to reward the players that show up to play in their final year...and IF Byrd had simply signed the tender and then not done the hold out b.s. I think you would have seen a long-term deal done...but who really knows....at this point, too many sour grapes in my hand - trade him and move forward. -
Hahaha!! true dat yo....see what I did there, I uh...never mind...

Bills Projected at $25 Million Under the Cap

That he is not worth the money he's demanding...pay him well, but $10 mil / yr is too much for a Safety, IMO of course -
Fair enough...and I should have been clearer in my statement in that when I said, "I would put that savings toward Decker", I meant that in essence would only cost the BILLS an additional $3-$4 mill per year and a younger player, taller, better route runner, and more productive...now, that said, I wouldn't expect Decker to be a guy that had such production, but would merely replace SJ at a better price point when considering production and I, for my preference, would ALSO (not yelling, just indicating an important point) Draft a tall outside WR with decent speed and hands in the 2nd Round preferrably, but would wait until the 3rd if the WR position looked like it wasn't being torn to shreds during the Draft...so in my perspective for an "extra" $3-$4 million you would have a younger, highly productive, tall, fast and good pass catching WR to take over SJ's spot, Woods on the outside with Goodwin being a slot guy along with a fly route type of weapon to take the top off the Offense and then a Rookie WR on the outside that matches the physical prototype you're looking for...and let's face it, injuries happen and having depth at that position only helps the BILLS, competition is a good thing. You're absolutely right about Manning making other WRs look good, but Decker wouldn't have to be "the answer" in Buffalo, he would just need to be productive because with a strong running game a set of other WRs that could also be real threats, Decker comes into a similar situation as he's in IF the BILLS Draft right / well this year.... We disagree, that's cool...I respect everyone's opinion as long as they're respectful and reasonably intelligent with a cogent argument to their credit.....but IMO, Decker is head and shoulders a better WR than SJ....SJ has good movement off the line and getting of the jamb is one of his strengths. Speed not so much, strong and steady hands not so much, some attitude concerns on the field, and sometimes an attitude issue off the field are all of his detractions....one person pointed to TJ trying to run down the KC INT for 100 yards while SJ threw up his hands in frustration, and yes, that epitomizes my issue with SJ. Has SJ gotten better at not being an on-the-field issue with his stupid penalties? Yes....has he been less abrasive in his off-the-field comments? Yes...he's matured a bit and that's to his credit as well...but sometimes, as fans it's not so easy to just "let bygones be bygones" and forget all the past issues and so they pile up like a sum total and at end of the day, some of us just reach that point when we say, "I'm done with this guy"...that's me with SJ....is it fair? I don't know....is it logical? probably not...but right now, if I had a choice between Decker or SJ and it cost me $3-$4 million more for Decker, I'd take Decker and not look back and believe the team is all the better for it Having said all of that, in various posts in different threads I've stated I'm fully against over-paying for certain positions and WR is actually one of them...so, if SJ is traded or released (that's defeinitely not happening) I am also "ok" with spending the money SJ release / trade saves the BILLS on Offensive / Defensive Line or stud LB....because as previous Super Bowl teams have shown, WRs are a dime-a-dozen when the rest of the team is playing well.....see the most recent Super Bowl as an example...
