  1. This team's record indicates that it is not good enough to win football games and compete in the NFL. What more is left to say? Chan Gailey has a worse record than Dick Jauron. Keep him around for another few years, Buddy. I bet the team wins two games next year.
  2. Great idea! Trade Jackson. I know there is zero percent chance that Spiller will ever go down with an injury over the course of his career. Tashard Choice is awesome anyway! I'm sure the Pats would give up at least a 5th rounder for him. That way, he can be productive for 5 or 6 more seasons as a situational RB and probably win a few SuperBowls, just like Kevin Faulk. Jackson was a league-wide MVP candidate right up until the point when he got hurt last season, so he's definitely expendable!! This isn't really directed at the OP. But I'm tired of the fan base bitching about Jackson getting on the field. He averaged well over 5 yards a carry last season and there really has been zero drop off.
  3. I don't disagree with anything you've written, and I've said and thought myself that the Bills product won't improve until after Wilson is gone. Maybe he'll get lucky and the team will suddenly turn around, but it will be inspite of him, not because of of him. He's a bad owner now, that is true beyond a doubt. He's not free from criticism from me. But how Bucky can, in a column, make an argument that Wilson isn't worthy of the HoFame -- to say it is a joke, well that upsets me because I don't respect his knowledge of the game and I don't respect him as a journalist. I guarantee he doesn't know anything about the History of the game. That's because sports journalism is all schtick to Bucky, he's looking to write incendiary things to make a big splash in the small media market that is Buffalo. He's a bad sports journalist and I've always thought so. Wilson is a bad owner now, of course, but Bucky wants to take it a step further and call his whole life as a football owner into question when with at least 60% of it he doesn't know a thing about it. That's what amateurs do.
  4. amateurish. a lot of people on this board have written the same words. the bills suck and wilson is incompetent. what a revelation. but i guess he was a genius when he won the two afl championships in 64-65, when bucky gleason was in his mother's womb? -- but bucky of course he had a beat on the team then, too. and Wilson must have also been an incompetent fool during the unprecedented superbowl runs. Oh i forgot, that was all Polian. but whatever, bucky gleason, you are one of the most prominent NFL writers in America, and should pontificate on what owners are worthy of the hall of fame. we should ask him to give a few lectures on the subject and find out how much he knows about the AFL. My guess is next to nothing. You don't see real journalists like Mark Gaughan writing stuff like this because they actually know the history of the game -- they've read about their subjects and actually have a working knowledge of the sport, and the history of the sport. Bucky Gleason only has a working knowledge of how to eat KFC and doughnuts. IN OTHER WORDS: Bucky Gleason is an amateur columnist and he's lucky he punched his meal ticket and got tenure at the TBN. His MO is to criticize ruthlessly all players, owners, and coaches in the city of buffalo. it's great schtick, really... it is. keep it up Bucky. Tell the 94 year old guy he's not fit to breathe air... doesn't deserve any accolades. you're such an edgy journalist because you have the balls to criticize a guy practically on his death bed. i'm sure you will inspire a whole generation of sports journalists... you are certainly inspiring many the readers on this board... mostly all amateurs, those amateurs whose words you almost perfectly echo!
  5. Dick Jauron's motto was "it's hard to win in this league." chan's is "WELL THEY TOOK SOME STUFF AWAY." here's an idea, chan DON'T LET THEM TAKE ANYTHING AWAY. I was done with Chan after he got outcoached by Wade Phillips. Every week, some D coordinator takes something away from Chan. He acts as if the playing calling is out of his hands "well they showed this front, and so we had to run this..." why not run whatever the hell you want and jam it down their throats? you have a loser's mentality, Chan. You have a woefully sad losing record, Chan. You're a losing coach, Chan. Do you like to lose, Chan? Go away, Chan. Quit.
  6. hahaha, it's funny cuz it's true... no voice has ever given me a worse vibe. i honestly think i'd spit at his feet if i ever happened to meet him...
  7. I hear what you're saying, although the title of your thread is silly. Of course you understand that people go to have fun. The problem with morons is a problem, though. There was a bit a few weeks ago where the howard stern show interviewed eagles fans. the interviews are obnoxious and leave me with very little faith in our species. there are some drunken retards with the emotional maturity of 4 year olds. there is no denying it... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YzZcRbNF5yQ
  8. Enjoy your career as a personal trainer, bro. Or will you choose to be a model? Or a spokesman for a high profile club? Either way, you're a failure as a ball player. Thanks again, Dicky J...
  9. vick is a possibility in buffalo if the bills can't draft a qb next year. mark my words. it makes sense. he won't be in high demand and he'll be willing to play anywhere he can be a starter.
  10. oy. i am dreading the buffalo media firestorm that this news will surely spawn. first Fridgegate now Textgate. john mcclean widely regarded as one of the best football writers in the country, gave an interview with that sal guy on the radio and he basically told everyone to calm down about mario. he sounded surprised that he was getting so much heat from the buffalo media. apparently he never complained about an injury in houston, and he has a track record for playing through painful injuries. and for the record does it really matter if the guy wants a mini-fridge? does that somehow affect the x's & o's of the game? i hope they talk about the mini-fridge on ESPN!!!
  11. the worst defense in the history of the national football league.
  12. a terrible idea. do you think spiller is going to play forever? what if he gets hurt? running backs get hurt all the time. further, nfl players get hurt all the time. you need to have two quality starting backs, given the short life span of running backs. and, all this talk about making spiller the starter is silly. fred was an MVP candidate before he got hurt last year. he hasn't fallen that far in a few months. get them both the ball as much as possible and stop obsessing about who the starter is everybody. spiller is a play away from going down, as is every player on the team.
  13. holy god, a few years ago he became the so called "czar" of the organization. now he has to be considered one of the worst GMs in the league, he set them back five years: drafting mccoy, abandoning mccoy, then trading up to draft a 29 year old rooke QB. not to mentioning hiring Jauron, but i forgot, the Browns D is strong right; Jauron is the MVP of the team. spare me it's safe to say the game has really passed him by. nobody should want him in Buffalo. he hasn't been successful in a decade.
  14. i'm not sure you read what i wrote -- surprising, since my post isn't very long. i am mad at bucky for criticizing gailey for the excitement he showed after the game. he compared him to belichick, who never gets excited after a victory. the bills are full of flaws, i never disputed that point. but it's not acceptable for him to demand that gailey not get amped up after a victory. i'm glad gailey praised his team after the victory. that was my point, nothing you wrote has anything to do with my post.
  15. Let me preface by saying I love Sullivan, but now I must know how Sully haters feel with when they complain about his cynicism and negativity. I've never read a more negative column. He really went too far by criticizing Gailey for being excited about the win. The guy works 100+ hours a week and he can't be excited about a victory!? Would you rather have Dick Jauron, who was a zombie win lose or draw? No, you'd rather have him be a humorless jerk like Belichick, who shows nothing but negative, condescending emotion and who is an absolute jerk to the media. We've seen plenty of successful coaches (Ryan, Harbaugh, for instance) who get really amped up after any victory. Go away, Bucky. You're a sorry substitute for, and inferior to, Sullivan. http://buffalonews.c.../121019443/1004
  16. First of all, if he makes the kick, which is 50/50, the Bills still don't win the game. If he misses, then there's an 80% chance the Bills lose. It was 100% the right call to punt. Second of all, to answer the simplistic question, he is on the team because he is really talented at kicking the football. He's actually a professional kicker. Check his resume, he's actually been doing it for a few years. I love the "WHY is player X on this team" questions. Have you spent 100s and 100s of hours analyzing kicker statistics and abilities? If so, please send the Bills Front Office your detailed report, in no less than 50 pages. Maybe they will cut him and sign the dozens and dozens of kickers that you in your wisdom have determined SHOULD be on the team.
  17. Yes, he was facing the worst tackles in the history of the National Football League, without a doubt. and Kelsay is the worst player the Bills have ever had, right, so that makes Mario Williams the worst of the worst of the worst? Listening to WGR radio and can't believe the negativity from the fans. Enjoy the win, joyless fans. They don't come too often. oh and p.s., Mario Williams was DOMINANT yesterday, get over it, children. Root really hard and he might fail again next week for your pleasure...
  18. wow, you certainly have researched mario's sacks, and your statistics raise some alarming concerns. so far, my impression is that mario is above average to good- in both run and pass defense. i'm not sure i see him as great in either. hopefully i'm wrong, and he can "get after it" as he seems fond of saying... edit: sprained wrist? are you kidding? please, 90% of nfl players have a sprained something. the great ones battle through minor injuries and are still great. i don't want to hear anything about a sprained wrist...
  19. glad they drafted Sheppherd in the third round so he could sit on the bench all day while no name running backs look like hall of famers... play the nickel all game wanny. DON'T CHANGE
  20. wow, a lot has been said, and not much i can say will be noticed. nevertheless, here is my (brief) two cents. my original reaction was like Fred's -- WTF. however, as fans, we grow really attached to players who have been around for a long time. i felt the same way when lee evans was traded, when andre reed went to washington, thurman to miami, etc. but after thinking about it, it does make perfect sense. the guy is old and is on the decline. the only outstanding concern i have is about powell as a kick holder, and with him kicking in bad weather. moorman was exceptional at holding kicks; i can't recall him ever messing up, or having the laces in. i hope this new guy is as much of a perfectionist in the little things as moorman was. it was clear that moorman put in all the extra time stretching, practicing with his long snapper, etc. i hope we don't lose any games this year because of a botched field goal attempt, or because a florida punter can't figure out the winds in RWS... yes, moorman is on the downside, but in those little areas he still excelled. it makes sense, but i am still skeptical...
  21. i don't wish harm on dick jauron, but he must be the most dispassionate football coach i've ever heard. i would never hire that guy, even as a position coach. just because he lacks so much emotion: how can "we can't afford to lose any game" jive with "it's hard to win in the league." yeah, dick, it's hard to win, and you don't win, and since you can't afford to lose games, but you do, well, you're bad at your job... p.s., would anyone else derive great satisfaction from watching fitz absolutely embarrass dick? i'm really hoping we dominate this week and humiliate dick. p.p.s., the most uninspiring football quote, perhaps ever, came from DJ: "It's hard to win in this league." I prefer the attitude: "this is a tough game for tough people..."
  22. count me in this camp. jones is a total dick. he also was recently quoted as saying the NFL replacement officials did well in week 2, and that people are always complaining so what's the difference. what a maddening human being. i hate jerry jones, and amazingly disagree with everything that comes out of his mouht.
  23. it's ridiculous how easily, and how often, helmets pop off nowadays. it never used to be that way. they aren't being worn properly, it's not the manly thing to do to strap them up tightly. either wear them properly, or don't wear them at all. i think it's a good rule. can draw parallels to hockey -- helmet no helmet, visor no visor, face cage no face cage. eventually the safer thing wins the day. i'm all for violence in the game, but if you're going to wear a helmet, wear it.
  24. ummm.... ummm????? i'm having trouble figuring out the arithmetic here. can somebody help me out??? no homers, please. this makes absolutely zero sense, unless he's hurt again.
