  1. What I do not get AT ALL is the defense is not the problem with this team.
  2. Hasletts numbers look worse than they are the rams stint almost doesn't count. By most accounts Spagnola is reguarded as a good coach and he can't do anything with them either. He a descent coach
  3. interior line set now find a couple tackles
  4. there is a reason no one has hired him and that will continue
  5. I don't understand the love for Josh Reed - the dude stinks we signed him to a terrible deal felt like he had to play. He can't get open against the other teams #3 and #4 corners. Comparison to Andre is laughable closer to Walter Broughton. One of my all time least favorite players although Sully likes him because he'll talk to him
  6. Again all the INSIDE information and so called experts and they all swung and missed on this one as well. Throw a dart gentlemen throw a dart
  7. Take your pick from this years baseball playoffs either league any series any game. Brutal- behind the dish worse on the bases including the guys in the outfield.
  8. Cool down on the Orakpo hall of fame ballots the guy has 4 against the crappy raiders and 3 more against the crappy lions-bucs and chiefs combined that his 7 of 11. He's had a real good year on a real bad team- do we go down the list on one year wonders or a great year
  9. Good research Dave this is exactly what I was wondering. All in all like most draft some good some bad some in between- except for the year 2000- already headed out??
  10. Callahan at Nebraska was awesome on offense, but down right terrible on defense....Bills aren't going to toronto knock that crap off....my top 5 is Cowher ,Weiss, Rivera, Billick, or Fox. NOT Capers, Frazier or Grimm
  11. First of all actually Fitz did beat Edwards out - Edwards will be released and career is over. He has no trade value at all- no back up value- obviously cant start and is now 27 and is no one QB of the future = no roster spot available anywhere.
  12. He might be too old Jerry throws out- and exactly how old is Parcells ?
  13. So Maybin is officially in the bust pile already? and no (nix) he can't take credit for picking any good players just bad ones no matter where he was working only allowed to take blame for anything that went wrong and absolutely under any circumstances get any credit for anything that went well. Cowhers picks of wide reciever Charles Johnson or Jamain Stephens or Troy Edwards or Kendall Simmons or Mark Bruener all first round picks who didnt have exactly stellar careers as an example.
  14. Much like when san diego had AJ Smith take over, we know have a football guy running things. Who was out there as a gm to bring in ? And why are these so called better options available - why aren't they working currently?
  15. If Edwards would have had some success it would have been time to pony up the money like 30 million etc. - not a failure
  16. These guys are all throwing darts. Inside info - yeah right. What has Clayton called thats been on the money? Mort ? don't even get me started. Adam Sheffter okay him I'll atleast listen too - Coach Sal - hell why not throw a dart
  17. Its not a bust totally for only one reason it (the signing) proved even with a prolific receiver in the offense Trent Edwards can not play quarterback and we are able to make that call without a doubt and move on
  18. my comment didnt read like i wanted too, i respect Cowher's ability to consistently produce a winner and no winning the big one isn't the mark of a great coach- but as stated before he had great teams with better talent and even at home and they laid an egg in the playoffs many many times
  19. Cowher would be a good pick but im not OVERLY impressed with him. He's a really good coach but 15 years as a head coach takes him 14 years to win a super bowl and were not talking about a team that was cheap or didnt have a winning tradition. What is impressive is the coaching staffs he put together over the years. Some one talented would leave he'd replace them with another good coach, tied into that is who he has won with at quarterback - Neil O'donnel, Mike Tomaczak, Kordell Stewart, Tommy Maddox, and of course Roethlisberger. Ben is a great qb but the rest or barely average to below average guys but kept on winning. - downside only two winning records the last 4 years (for a legend) and what has their draft looked like with Billy C calling the shots
  20. I would like Weis as head coach he knows offense and that is what we need. In addition he knows the NFL, it takes alot of energy and a bunch of younger go getters to recruit. Reminds me a Callahan at Nebraska - no one doubts the guy knows offense despite not having success at the college level. I would take Weis but only AFTER a new GM.
  21. The list of qb's is incredibly thin, wouldn't touch Batch, Harrington, or Carr. Garcia will be what 41 by next season - totally agree it's all about the line. In the words of Tom Osborne when the O-line is good almost anything works and when it's poor nothing does.
  22. The guys a damn good pass rusher who has played by himself at pressuring the quarterback. Again why we bang on the few good players we have I have no idea. His loss frankly would kill- but the hiring of a actual gm leading to a real football coach and he's back- just frustrated getting no help and understandably so
  23. Jeez Mike who put you in those terrible situations where you serving someone elses time?
  24. I don't want Shannahan's less than stellar finish coming to town for 10 million dollars. He's making one final money grab before turning things over to junior. I would rather they bring in an actual GM with a track record of knowing how to build a team and then he can select his coach. Shanny's grab a player mentality landed him a 24-24 record his last three years and one playoff win the last ten years. He's shown no ability to build a team
  25. Only difference is Plunkett was/is a tough SOB
