  1. Sad but true. There is no accountability in this organization....
  2. My, oh my. I wonder what the tally is for the entire season, probably just as sickening....
  3. It's all relative. Some people bleed hockey like others bleed football. I agree with your point that nationally the recognition isn't even comparable, but to the individual sports fan that doesn't matter. If you have a passion for hockey, the amount of coverage it gets on ESPN isn't going to affect your love for the game. It also has to do with the fact that as far as "major" pro sports teams go, Buffalo only has the Bills and the Sabres. The two will always be linked/compared for that very reason. I am originally from MA, but I grew up a Die Hard Bills fan. I didn't get into hockey until the last year or so, and my fellow Bills fans/friends helped get me into the Sabres. I root for the Sabres because I root for Buffalo, my adopted second home...
  4. After the fourth quarter meltdown, we started playing Tevo'd highlights from the Sabres games this weekend...even if it's only temporary, their current success is helping to numb the pain.
  5. Exactly, and because it is such a crapshoot we should trade down for more picks in my opinion. It looks like we are going to end up with a top ten, we need so much help in so many areas...
  6. Yeah but Donahoe should have known that clown didn't even like playing football and had no passion for the game whatsoever....
  7. You're absolutely right man, my point is that from one QB to the next you just never know....
  8. And I'm pretty sure the Chargers tried to do the same thing with Ryan Leaf. Like I told you, crapshoot....
  9. Negative....we need to build this team from the lines out. Stuff the trenches with real football players and watch them make your skill position players look twice as good. Remember, for every Matt Ryan and Joe Flacco there is a Jemarcus Russell and Alex Smith. Drafting a QB that high is a crap shoot and if it fails it can set the whole organization back...bigtime.
  10. Sorry fellas, I know this is wayyyy off topic....but Spider, that Rec Room is tight brother! Okay back to Whitner. I have always rooted for Donte, he works really hard and I hear he is a real film rat, student of the game, etc. He doesn't rate an number 8 pick or his inflated salary, but I've always pulled for him. That being said he needs to just shut it until he gets back on the field. True leadership is respected by those who are in the trenches with you...
  11. I see what you mean. I voted for a win as well. You should ALWAYS want a win for your team, or else what is the point of having a favorite team that you are supposed to live and die with? However, the way I feel right now is similar to the way I felt at the end of the Williams and Mularky regimes. A win will be awesome, but if we lose you have to find the silver lining. It's one loss closer to the end of Jauron's tenure (PLEASE GOD) and a higher spot for us come April (and hopefully a front office that will actually know what to do with it). Really, at this point I just want us to play well. If we go round for round with the Titans and lose 34-28 in a hard fought game with no major gaffes than I'll take it. I am just tired of the embarrassing losses. Games like the Miami/Cleveland/Houston ones really take the piss out of you as a fan. Even the NE game had it's moments, but to lose like that is just awful. At this point I am looking for player development. It's now or never for Trent (prob never), the young O-line needs to improve, will Byrd keep it going, etc. These are the things I am looking at going forward. They'll never say it, but the players know that their days with Jauron are numbered. They are auditioning for the next staff, and over the next 8 weeks hopefully we will see what they are made of.
  12. Agreed. Best show on TV, and no one knows it...
  13. Man, I hear you. People just don't get it, but "Any Given Sunday" is a cliche for a reason. Try growing up in MA around Pats fans/media. They act like the Patsies don't even have to show up Sundays. All of their game day predictions are blowouts, even when they are playing decent teams. Then they are so shocked when they lose, they don't even know how to take it. I was so upset that I was deployed during the 18-0 Super Bowl, would've loved to witness that gift of humble pie! Now that I live in Jersey, Jets fans are just as comical. They were pounding their chests at 3-0, and I thought that was so funny. The season is so far from over, as we unfortunately learned last year. Either way I am excited for this game. If we win and Fitzy plays well, the O-line progresses, and TO finally comes out of hiding than there is reason to at least look forward to the rest of the season. 4-4 at the bye with 3 straight wins and it's a whole new season...we'll see!!!
  14. Here's to #97!!! Biscuit was my favorite Bill as a kid. I just loved the way he played the game. I've been trying to get my hands on his road throwback jersey with no luck. I remember playing Tecmo Super Bowl and drumming up his season stats to like 40+ sacks and stuff....ahhh memories.
  15. I jumped over to the Texans official message board and most of the guys contributing to the prediction thread have us losing by anywhere from 7 to 14 points, some even 21 or more. I think that is unlikely since road blowouts are rare in the NFL. There were a couple of guys saying that AJ should sit out cause he won't be needed. Let's hope they are in for a rude awakening! That being said I do believe the Texans are a pretty decent football team, really talented at the skill positions. To win, our O-line is going to have to step up and protect Fitzy better. They still look pretty bad at times, but seem to be better off since we scrapped the no-huddle. I see the Texans playing us defensively much like Caroline did. Stack the box to stop Lynch and Freddy, and force us to try and beat them through the air. Evans and Fitzy seem to be on the same page with each other, if TO gets with the program this week (and stops dropping passes) than look out. We could (gulp!) have a decent day offensively. If we do that, our defense has been playing well enough for us to win. I was really encouraged that we held the Panthers to 110 yards rushing after bleeding like a civ in the Meadowlands (I was there, it was even uglier in person). And of course, if there are no really major in-game decisions to be made on the sidelines that would help. I have nothing personal against DJ, but he is the worst game manager I've ever seen. Either way I think we have a shot in this one. I will be traveling to the Ralph from Jersey and it's pretty cool that this game at least feels like it sort of "counts" at this point. We'll see, we could lay an egg like we did against Cleveland and it will be all for not. Go Bills!
  16. I was also pleasantly surprised by the way we played in Gillette this year. That has been an annual horror show for some time. But honestly I have to say that I am most surprised at TO's attitude given our lack of success and his lack of production. He seems to be watching what he says, and holding himself accountable. I didn't expect that...
