  1. Great start to the season Bill. Great thoughts as always, and a double amen to point #1...
  2. +1 Well said Bowery, which is more than I can say for some other people around here. Jeez guys can we have a little tact?
  3. You know it's scary, but I was thinking the same thing when I read about the O-line shuffle today. I thought, here we go again, we're not prepared for a regular season that is just two weeks away. I don't understand, why would it take so long to realize that Bell couldn't hack it? Hasn't he given them enough of a body of work the last two years with which to judge?
  4. Yeah, it's really difficult when you are watching the game not to get emotional and keep everything in perspective. Every time the Bills strap on their pads and put on the uniforms I want to see them perform well and of course win the game. I was definitely flustered watching us bumble around last night. But the preseason is such a strange animal. Everything is so vanilla and you never know what a team is trying to accomplish with their play calling and personnel packages and such. It's all just a glorified scrimmage really. I think a similar thing happened with Tampa Bay the other day. They were just unprepared for the Pats to come out with guns blazing and they got caught with their pants down so to speak. You have to take it all in stride somewhat. I think Barnett had a good assessment. You'd like to see players perform well in their base options, but if they don't you have to remember that its not a good representation of how things will necessarily go in the Regular Season. They still have time to put it together. Now if they look this bad in KC, then there will be cause for concern...
  5. I def love the thought of Jasper in there on those short yardage situations, him and Dareus would take up so much room!
  6. I thought DiCesare's column was very good as opposed to the typical stuff from Sully. It was a very level headed assessment...
  7. I think when courting potential free agents, certain exceptions are made...
  8. LOL!!!! But seriously, I think they just want him on the field...
  9. I see your point and I understand your frustration, and share it many ways. I loved Poz too, but do you REALLY think he was worth 7 mil a year? For six years? My jaw dropped when I saw those numbers... Is it Haiku time again already? YES!!!
  10. This is exactly it really. Right on the nose. This thread in general brings up a slew of good points. It's hard to preach patience and logic to a fanbase that has been sucking wind for so long. Not to mention that we are one of the most passionate fanbases in the NFL. I am trying my best to trust in Nix/Gailey. It can be frustrating to go on Pro Football Talk and see all these big names being thrown around to all the other teams, while the Bills (mostly, I love the Smith signing) stand pat. But Chan and Buddy have nothing to do with the ten years of futility that preceded them, so as a fan, a Bills fan, I just see no other option to support them and hope they know what's best for the team.
  11. Check it out, despicable... http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/12/12/dolphins-nolan-carroll-tripped-while-running-on-jets-sideline/
  12. I am originally from MA and yes Patriots fans there are insufferable. I HATE the Patriots with a passion. But we need to just stop with all this nonsense. They have been the most dominant team this decade, and they have continued to play extremely well since being caught videotaping. I think it makes us look silly to always focus on the cheating. We are like the jealous little brother who just can't get over big brother's success. We need to start beating them on the field, and that's it. Is Chan Gailey the man to finally come in here and match up with BB? That is the question ladies and gentlemen, and hopefully we will get the answer we want within the next season or so. Until then, can we just STOP with the Belicheat/Cheatriots crap? Let's just focus on our Bills....
  13. Yeah I am not sure if that was a player or just a trainer-type person but that was so dirty...I really hope this gets more attention and i hope the league looks into it.
  14. Honestly I think the Mods are more interested in protecting this website than the financial interest of billionaires. And anyone who can't find the free games by simply using Google probably shouldn't even be using the internet, it is so painfully easy...
  15. I'll be there with my buddy John in 127. I've been up from NJ for the Cinci (preseason) and Jags games, I'll be up again for the Cleveland game. I am also going to see us play the Jets in NJ. Eternal optimist or glutton for punishment? Probably both! GO BILLS!!!
  16. Count me in your foxhole brother...life is way to short for cynicism or pessimism. I myself have been a fan since about '89, since I was kid growing up in MA. I was telling my wife the other day that I don't think I've ever rooted for this team as hard as I have this year. I drove up from NJ yesterday to come and root for my 0-8 team in person today. I don't need a medal, and I'm not blind. I am just as frustrated with the ten year playoff drought. But the Bills are my team and I love football, so what's the point of giving up? I think Fitzy, Gailey, and Nix are guys that are easy to root for. I don't know if Fitz is the long term answer at QB, Gaily as coach, or Nix as GM. But honestly, who seriously doesn't WANT them to be the answer? They are already here! They are already part of the Bills organization, so I HOPE above all hope that they WILL BE the answer. But who knows? In the meantime, I am a fan of the Buffalo Bills (unlike Trent Edwards) and I will continue to take the disappointment when they lose and delight in their victories. Here's hoping to one today...LET'S GO BUFFALO
  17. It's true, now that you bring it up. The explanations on the offensive side of the ball are a lot more technical. Defensively, it seems like there is no real answer. It's frustrating because for ten years in a row we find ourselves being inept on one side of the ball while the other side at least makes things interesting...
  18. I have to hand to Chan and Fitzy in this respect. As fan, I really feel like the Post Game Press Conferences are easier to stomach than the last couple of years. I don't know about you guys, but I just couldn't help but be so frustrated with the last regime in this regard. It's bad enough to lose, but to have to see your Head Coach (Jauron) with a total "deer in the headlights" look on his face, try and explain the inexplicable in regards to his coaching schemes/decisions/gameplanning is just one of the most frustrating things I've had to endure as a long time fan of this team. And let's not even get started on Trent Edwards. He just seemed so aloof and arrogant most of the time, with no passion for the situation or the state of the team one way or another. One thing I will give Chan Gailey, he seems absolutely disgusted after every loss. He looks totally sick to his stomach. And the biggest thing, I feel there is a lot more accountability now. He is quick to take the blame and even admit exactly where he went wrong. He also seems to have a good grasp of exactly went wrong during the game unlike Jauron who just seemed clueless. Fitzy is the same way. He looks really hurt when we lose, like he is dying a little with every loss. It makes him easier to identify with, cause it's the way we all feel. And he is not aloof in his responses. He is thoughtful and accountable as well. He has the courage to explain himself after every game instead of relying on the tired "I'll have to look at the tape" response we got from Trent every week. I don't know about you guys, but I would vomit a little in my mouth every time I heard him say that... I am not saying this means Gailey is the next Lombardi, or that Fitzy is the definite answer at QB going forward just based on their post game remarks. It just makes these guys a little easier to root for in my opinion...
  19. I thought Newton played an incredible game yesterday...reminded me of Vince Young v.s. USC when he just completed dominated the game, almost entirely on his own...
  20. The only position that would be acceptable for the Bills to pass on choosing a "franchise" QB in the 1st round next year in my mind is choosing a "franchise" LT. And that's only if they get a QB with the first 2nd round pick or trade back into the 1st. If the "sure-thing" first pick in the draft isn't one of those two positions than we should trade down and get more picks. That is my humble and honest opinion. I swear if we spend another first round pick on our defensive secondary I am going to vomit.
  21. I think the second line only has six, unless I am missing something (it's supposed to be 5-7-5), but it's a good one nonetheless!
  22. crazy you always have good ones...
  23. In a season like this, all we have is each other. This is one of my favorite TSW traditions, cause you guys are so hilarious with these. I will get the ball rolling for Week 7. No playoff Red Sox, Bills, Sabres, Irish suck too Someone please shoot me (I know the Sabres still have plenty of time, it's just not going well so far)
  24. I would definitely like to see a long term commitment to keep the team in Buffalo after Mr. Wilson passes. That would be HUGE. In the immediate future, I want to beat the Patriots. BAD. If we beat them on December 26th in Buffalo, get that monkey off our back, and make steady improvements for the rest of the season than that will at least get me excited about this team going forward.
