  1. Poseidon? piffle Dagon is the man err god why do you think the Pope wears a fish head hat (mitre)
  2. if he ever gets healthy he'd be way better than we got now. If I thought he'd get healthy by next year I'd sign him and stash him on IR - if the Bills are thinking of trading Evans then they are still in total rebuilding mode anyways.
  3. you might be a member of the the Objectivist Party and I certainly find you objectionable but you don't in the least have objectivity- sure you like Max Baucus he has "owned by Wall Street" tattooed on his forehead or at least should have.
  4. Check out the Bank of North Dakota before you consider this a libertarian/conservative success
  5. Before you accept any of the countries given on this thread as examples of "Libertarian countries" I suggest you check out their Health Care systems, Minimum wage laws, social welfare programs, Labor rights laws, Environmental and safety regulations, personal and corporate tax rates, education systems, property taxes, Land ownership and use laws, and so on.
  6. This could be a bad move by the Bills the actual football product has been so bad that a lot of people I know go primarily for the tailgating.
  7. everything is relative - compared to other Bills coaches Chan is indeed a genius - Around the NFL he'd be average or mediocre - and you got to remember the word football modifies the word genius in much the same way the word special modifies the word Olympics.
  8. West Seneca West meh kinda sissy, Riverside was a man's school- and you forget our riots and the reason UB's campus expansion was built in an Amherst swamp without a center hub instead of downtown Buffalo, of the 5 major industries that employed us three closed down completely and the other two lost whole shifts and laid people off the shifts they retained I watch the neighborhood go from a nice blue collar middle-class to pretty poor and beat in a 7-8 year period. There were no riots in the neighborhood except for the race riots the first year they integrated the schools- btw if you ever check the historical crime statistics you'll find that most categories of crime peaked between 1979 and 1983 and they have been coming down ever since at least to 2007 after which I can't find data.
  9. Don't overestimate the masters of the universe intelligence - being globalist they think they can screw America and Western Europe over and then they'll flee to do Business in Asia. The truth is Asia will come to the point where they'll say (" we have your technology, we have your production methods, your consumer markets are weak and getting weaker while our consumer markets are growing, we have plenty of capital- I forget why do we need you again?)at that point a lot of western businesses will be pushed out of Asia- there will be much weeping and gnashing of teeth and cries for the American government to do something but they will have no leverage as access to American markets will mean not much. I guess some are never read The Goose That Laid Golden Eggs.
  10. way too much boiler plate - I'm just getting a Chinese knock off. 3wdwate is an idyot
  11. Whitey is never innocent you honky jive cat.
  12. That's ok I don't find your critique on my credibility credible.
  13. I thought we had a pretty good draft and I thought we got a little better at the end to the year last year, so I thought with a really good off-season we could get to a 8-8 or 9-7 season this year but I don't think we've had a very good off-season to this point in fact I'd give it a D- I wouldn't have paid POZ what he got but while Barnett might be a better value he's not an upgrade if fact he may be a slight downgrade, Brad Smith meh- So as of now I have the Bills at an optimistic 6-10, subject to change if we acquire more talent (although as of now the FA pool looks pretty picked over) or if one of our unknowns really comes on. I don't make real predictions until the day before the first regular season game.
  14. If a middle-class kid who's finished high-school can't afford to go to college he enters the labor market probably doing something menial- which takes a job a high-school drop-out could have done. Part of the austerity cuts eliminated youth training and youth activities. Government that ignores the will and need of the masses creates pissed off people and if you get to a tipping point it can spread like a contagion and angry or fearful people do irrational things. So many of the cold financial types think hey we will just cut off X amount from programs and we will save X amount- like they think the people those cuts effect will of course just sit in a corner and take it- they can't imagine unintended consequences mainly I think because they view people as abstractions and can't put themselves in other peoples situation.
  15. tremendously high youth unemployment + increasing college fees 100% to 200% + all other types of austerity cuts in services + ignoring polls in the 70%- 80% that show the peoples will and instead legislating for special interests = what could go wrong.
  16. You got your choice of Bryant Mckinnie, Max Starks, Shawn Andrews, Jared Gaithers, Langston Walker, Herman Johnson and a couple other guys - These guys all have some type of problem (injury, weight, has been,or never was) my guess is out of the 7 or 8 guys maybe one or two will be able to contribute and the rest will just suck up salary and take reps from your younger players- so the question is do you trust this front office even trying to make that pick.
  17. For Elma Fudd There feel better now.
  18. what about Maybin and a 7th for Mays
  19. You know as a Bill fan I think "hey if that guy can get and stay healthy" "and that guy got a little experience so he should be better now" "and player x put on some weight so he'll be better" and "they'll know the system now" "and what are the odds of getting 15+ players injured for the 3rd straight year" or to sum it up " lets see Dareus our first round pick will make our DL better and a better DL will make our LBs better and better LBs will make our DBs better so we will have a better defense and that will give our offense more chances which will tire out the opposing defense which will make Spiller more effective which will open things up for Fitzy which will bring Evans back to form which will open things up for Johnson which will clear things out for Chandler which will make the offense explosive and run up the score which will let the DLine pin back it's ears which will make Kyle Williams a super star which will help Dareus." Strangely enough I don't make these logic chains for the Jags or Panthers or the Bengals
  20. If you look at the GDP share of U.S. financial industry compared to historic levels .......well forget it you won't believe it until it happens.
  21. The problem with the finance industry is they have given up in large part their societal function of vetting capital to useful production and instead shuffle their increasingly abstract financial products around skimming off the top. The former increases the size of the pie, the latter just redistributes the pie and in fact destroys a small part of it in each go around.
