More Good Economic News
....lybob replied to Dave_In_Norfolk's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Most of the economic data is massaged, unemployment, inflation, GDP, etc etc, it didn't start with Obama and it's not just the U.S. and not it's not just government figures as there have been an increasing number of restatement of earnings for American S&P 1500 companies. -
The Bills need a first tier WR and a second tier WR- SJ is one of 4 WR FAs who fits as a first tier WR so you resign him or sign VJ, MC, DB- if you don't get one of the four then you might as well admit that you're a Mickey Mouse organization and have no serious plans to compete for a play-off spot anytime soon.

obama thinking about 80% reduction of Nukes
....lybob replied to erynthered's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
As much as it pains me to say it- Tom is dead on with this post To the OP 1. Do you really think Obama thought this up between golf and watching NBA basketball? these proposals come from Pentagon think tanks. 2. These Proposals do not come because the members of said think tanks have started to do hits of DMT and have had a sudden epiphany on love and the oneness of the universe- These proposals come because the crafty (at least those who believe themselves to be crafty)think the proposals give them the advantage. Personally I'm against these reduction of nuclear arms deals, as I can't help but think that someone somewhere is trying to turn a nuclear exchange from unthinkable to winnable. -

I blame Cheney and Rumsfeld for that, I think they screwed Powell- of course I don't know who knew what and when but my impression of Powell is his big mistake was trusting and being loyal to the wrong people- I always wonder what Bush's presidency would have looked like if Richard Lugar, Charles Hagel or John Kasich had been his Vice president, too bad that Dick Cheney, was heading Bush’s vice presidential search and shockingly enough found Dick Cheney as the best candidate for the job.

Don't worry you're fine, there is a big difference between the white man's guilt and the white man's burden.

Changing the subject, I always thought Colin Powell should have been our first Black president, I think he would have don't well if he had run, whether he didn't because he thought he was too tied to an unpopular administration or if rumors that his wife did not let him run for president because she was afraid he would be assassinated were true or if he just didn't have the fire in the belly, I think it's a shame he didn't run.

Two hundred years of slavery, a hundred years of institutional discrimination, and fifty years and counting of conscious or unconscious discrimination is historical context. Let me give two examples that show a least unconscious discrimination continues to this day. resumes selling online

If the next 40 presidents are black you'd definitely be justified to vote for a qualified white guy just because he's white- right now I wouldn't hold it against women if they voted for a qualified woman just because she's a woman, things have a historical context.

The thing I notice about Coples is that he lacks NFL techniques and pass rushing moves, most of what he does seems to be based on just being a superior athlete- for this years draft of defensive linemen Coples and Brockers have the most upside but they are both raw - someone like Ingram probably will be able to contribute more his first year but might not have the upside- as for lack of heart I find that believable if a coach says it but fans can't tell the difference between lack of heart and injury or changes that makes an athlete think instead of reacting- change of position assignment or techniques.

Sorry Tom as a narcissist compared to OC you are a piker, a small time two bit garden variety egotist, that you would post in a manner suggesting that you narcissism is on par or superior to OCs implies extreme delusions of grandeur....... Hey wait a minute now. -
Polian says Gronk failed their physical
....lybob replied to bbb's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Right now Ingram is a 15-25 pick and 4.75 is the break even for him to remain there, a 4.6 moves him up to 10-15 area or maybe even a little better, 4.8 or worse could drop him into the second or third round. -
Bills Interested in Vincent Jackson
....lybob replied to Sniper's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Bills are Interested in Vincent Jackson, I'm interested in Freida Pinto I think we have about an equal shot. -
This is a guy who beat his fathers record of eighteen on a golf course by shooting a 1 as his golf ball magically multiplied into 18 golf balls each finding it's proper cup- and you expect a little thing like death to stop him? but seriously the NK press reports 1. learned to shoot at three and killed a bear (not quite up to our guy Davey Crocket who "Kilt Him a Bear Before he was Three!" but still impressive 2. Also learned to drive, became a world renowned poet,a genius military strategist, and became fluent in four languages before he was five. 3. By his teen years he was a better basketball player than even the best U.S. pros 4. Has advance degrees in physics, biology, agricultural science, engineering and political science 5. Is a master of many Korean martial arts, can heal with his chi, and is a human lie detector machine Assassination? homeboy please , death will only make him stronger

I find this a breathtaking demonstration of a complete lack of self-awareness since most of you posts seem to be part of a deranged manifesto on your awesomeness and everyone else's suckiness. Gems like this is why I'll never put you on Ignore. -
What the Bills have right now LDE Alex Carrington, Jarron Gilbert, Lionel Dotson, Dwan Edwards DT Kyle Williams, Marcell Dareus, Torell Troup, Kellen Heard, Spencer Johnson, Jay Ross RDE Shawne Merriman, Kyle Moore, Chris Kelsay LDE is OK, DT is OK to very good depending on return from injuries, RDE probably a disaster Free Agency -DEs Tier#1 young- Mario Williams, Calais Campbell, Cliff Avril, Tier#1 older Robert Mathis, John Abraham Tier#2- Jeremy Mincey, Mark Anderson, Dave Tollefson, Frostee Rucker, formerly highly regarded but now young busts- Jamaal Anderson 26, Derrick Harvey 25, Amobi Okoye 25, Quentin Groves 27 Draft - I'm not totally in love with any of the Defensive linemen in this draft- Quinton Coples and Michael Brockers have tremendous upside but I doubt either will dominate their first year with them seemingly very raw in their techniques - Ingram and Upshaw will probably be better as OLBs I have grave concerns as to their effectiveness against the type of LTs they are going to go up against in the NFL- comparisons to Freeney and Dumervil may not be valid, Freeney ran the forty in 4.38-4.48 and had 33inch arm length, Dumervil might be a better comparison with 4.75 speed but still has freakishly long arms for his height also a 30 rep bench. We will have to wait for the combine but neither Mercilus, Branch or Curry impress me as physically dominate guys.

The Bills have three areas of concern 1. pressure on the QB 2. another weapon on offense 3. overall depth The Bills are switching to the 4-3 and the Teams I think they should take a close look at are the Giants (48 sacks) and Cincinnati (45 sacks), The Giants are an interest to me because they play a 4-3 with Mathias Kiwanuka playing Strong side linebacker while the Bills have a very similar player in Merriman, Cincinnati is of interest because they managed to get 45 sacks with no player reaching double digits and a DT Geno Atkins being the team leader with 7.5 sacks. The Bills will need to pick up 2-4 decent 4-3 type LBs in the draft. The Bills have two interesting pick ups on the defensive line Jarron Gilbert of jumping out of the pool fame and Kyle Moore who was a pretty good DE for USC. The Bills offense started off pretty good until ravaged by injury- Stevie Johnson is a legit #1 but not a top 5 or even top 10 WR that being said our chances of keeping him either by contract or franchise tag seem better than getting V. Jackson, Marques Colston, or Dwayne Bowe in Buffalo. I think the Bills go with six WRs Stevie Johnson, David Nelson (slot) and Brad Smith (special teams, wildcat) take three spots while Kamar Akien, Donald Jones, Derek Hagan, Marcus Easley, Naaman Roosevelt, Tim Toone and any FAs battle it out for the #2 wideout position/special teams. Scott Chandler was OK at TE but we don't have that scary weapon at TE that teams like NE,NO,GB,Dallas, SD and a few other teams have. The Bills did sign former basketball player and physical freak Fendi Onobun (6,6 250 4.48 forty) and reasonably athletic Kevin Brock (6,5 260 4.65). Free Agency- while I'd love a top tier pass rusher like Mario Williams I think Buffalo lacks both the dollars and the draw to get one, thus I am going fairly low rent with the majority of the focus going to sign our own FAs Bell, Stevie Johnson, Chandler, Urbik - my focus for the rest of free agency is young, athletic and reasonably cheap guys so that we can platoon our defensive linemen effectively Jamaal Anderson DE 26, Amobi Okoye DT 25, Quentin Groves LB 27 all fit that description. If enough money is left over then a WR like Robert Meachem, Laurent Robinson, or even Braylon Edwards could help the #2 WR position. Draft- I believe Buddy when he says football is a game for big people and he also likes versatility 1. Michael Brockers DT -from everything I read his upside is equal to or greater than Coples who I think will be gone. 2. Dwayne Allen TE- The Bills need another weapon on offense and I like him better than the WRs left 3. Trumaine Johnson CB/FS- size and versatility 4a. Brock Osweiler QB - Osweiler has both major upside and major concerns, could go as early as rd2, 4b. Brandon Mosley OT- Good athlete LT needs to put on 10-15lbs and get stronger 5a. Nigel Bradham LB 5b. Tank Carder LB 6. Josh Kaddu LB 7. Greg McCoy CB an example of platooning Bills Dline might be #1 Carrington LDE, Dareus DT, Kyle Williams DT, Jamaal Anderson RDE ..............................................#2 Gilbert LDE,Brockers DT Okoye DT. Kyle Moore RDE Merriman would play the Kiwanuka position as a strong side LB and could come in as a RDE in obvious passing situations with Groves being his backup. I think this setup will get us a fair number of sacks especially later in the game as the center takes a non-stop beating.

Would you trade FJ for a 1st rounder in 2012?
....lybob replied to D521646's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You might be able to trade Fred Jackson and our second round pick for one of Cincinnati's first round picks- if for some reason Richardson dropped to ten it might be a good move. -

Wait until Obama uses a Billion dollars of campaign money to hire a million campaign workers perfectly timed to get unemployment down to 7.3% just before the general election.
