If the Redskins don't bring back J Campbell
Talley56 replied to B Rob's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Campbell is terrible. Just another Rob Johnson or Kyle Boller who has a good strong arm but nothing else. Sorry, but no thanks. -
Are you happy the Bills lost?
Talley56 replied to Endzone Animal's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There's really no one in the draft behind Suh who I really think is a sure-fire pick. I really don't think there's going to be much of a difference between having the 6th or 11th pick. However, I do want to show the big name coaches that we are willing to play hard till the end. I just think a Billick or Shannahan would rather see that then see a team lose out for a higher draft pick. It already sounds like Shannahan is going to Washington. Plus I'm really tired of losing to NE. We need to end this losing streak against them. -
Just a thought, with our 11th pick last year perhaps we didn't think Crabtree would fall that far but if we would have had the 10th pick over the 9ers since Crabtree fell to that spot is it possible that we would have picked him up? I know we had other needs seeing as signing TO was suppose to fix our WR problems but that was only suppose to be for one season. I guess the other question would be would having him have helped us? He could end up being a big-time receiver or he could be a bust so I guess we'll never know what his impact would have been. Just speculating.

I feel an upset coming on Sunday vs Pats.
Talley56 replied to Bufcomments's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
At any time Brady could go off and have a a huge game. That being said, if he doesn't have a game like that against us, and the Pats play us like they did the Panthers, I think we stand a chance. It really is frutstrating losing to a division rival 12 straight times (I get that NE has been great this decade but even the Dolphins and Jets have found ways to beat them from time to time.) -
Nobody knows football and the Buffalo Bills

I'm very new to this board so I don't know anybody that well, but still, glad to hear everything went well Lori. And I'm very sorry for your lost Scribo. All are in my thoughts and prayers. God bless! -

Did we just stop them on 3rd and long? -

I don't know, I think he's done his best to adjust when they blitz (screen passes to Freddy, etc) but there comes a point where the o-line needs to hold up better. -

I like how Fitzy has looked tonight. I think his only problems have been when the o-line has let him down but he needs to learn how to slide when he runs or he'll get killed. -

The Patriots never cease to amaze me

WTF? That pass was no where near the line of scrimmage? Are they all blind? -

Funny thing is on that play where Gruden and Jaws cried about Welker not getting the hold call Hargrove went right up the middle and was about to flatten Brady but Koppen and Mankins blatantly held him. Ofcourse they don't even mention anything about that. ESPN gushes over the Pats so much it's just sickening. -
It's bitter sweet seeing his turn-around. I wish he would have done it while he was still with us because I always did like him as a player even when he was with us. But I also know we gave him numerous chances and when a guy gets suspended for a year he's really worn out his welcome. But we could use a guy like him.

If we could land any available coach...
Talley56 replied to Cotton Fitzsimmons's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not sure why Holmgren is not on this list but he's the one I'd pick. Built two championship calibur teams basically from scratch. Shannahan, while impressive, at least had Elway to start with when he took over in Denver. My second choice might be Schottenheimer cause any head coach that can have success in Cleveland (which Belichick failed to do) has my vote of confidence. -
Charlie Weis or Rich Rodriguez for head coach?
Talley56 replied to dtgolder's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sorry, but I seriously would have rather kept Jauron than go after either of these guys especially Weis. He has done terrible at Notre Dame. He hasn't been any better than Bob Davie nor Tyrone Willingham. What about Holmgren, have we given up on him already? It sounds like the Browns are going after him and I think if the Browns stand a chance to land him then we certainly do. Are we just reserved to the idea that Ralph would never go after someone as high profile as him? -
I just "spied" on a Patriots message board and they are complaining about the refs. While I agree that that catch probably was made at the first down line and therefore should have probably been a first down, it's amazing how quickly they forget the BS roughing the passer calls against the Ravens which helped them win that game.

Not trying to beat a dead horse but anyone else think we should have accepted that holding penalty late in the game when the Titans kicked the field goal? I know we were giving up big chunks of yards on those screen plays on 3rd and long but that late in the game when it is still a one possession ball game I think it's smarter to take the chance, knock them out of field goal range, and try to force the punt on the next play instead of setting a good kicker up to make it a two-possession game. If they convert on the 3rd downl, again, they make it a two-possession ball game either way. At least we would have had a chance to force the punt and get the ball back with the game still at one possession. Maybe then we could have moved the ball without having to force it and throw those two late pick sixes.

Unfortunately, we don't have luxury of playing in a sorry division where no one finishes better than 8-8

Are we a 2-4 team or a 4-2 team???
Talley56 replied to RyanW2279's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good teams make plays in close games. If you keep games close but don't make the one or two plays to win, you're not good, but if you do make that play, you are good. That's just the way the NFL is. The Redskins are a few plays from 6-0, the Titans are a few plays from 3-3 and last year's Steelers were a few plays from 8-8. -
Reading this brought back painful memories of the monday night meltdown against Dallas. 6 picks against Romo and we still couldn't win. I could see the same thing happening against Delhomme next week.

The Bills won, but that was a bad reversal on Evans
Talley56 replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was confused about this one as well. It didn't look like the ball changed trajectory when it bounced up either suggesting it didn't touch anything. I couldn't really hear what they were saying on TV. Anyone else see the ball touch him? -

Talley56 replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
First of all, Evans was clearly bobbling the ball and stepped out before maintaining possession. The replay provided clear evidence of this and the refs made the right call to overturn it and rule it incomplete. Not sure how you can debate this and even the Bills fans at the bar I was watching with all agreed that he was clearly bobbling the ball while still inbounds and didn't maintain possession until out of bounds. Secondly, we shouldn't be complaining about officiating. I'm not trying to discredit our win but in looking at it objectively, the Jets were called for some really ticky-tack holding-illegal contact penalties. And a few plays before we scored our TD we had thrown a pic which was called back for illegal contact. After looking at the replay I must say I did not see any contact at all. -
Who starts next week at QB vs Carolina?
Talley56 replied to toddgurley's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
While we've been bashing Edwards for checking down all the time (captain checkdown) I just think we are going to see the opposite problem with Fitzpatrick. He's going to force the ball down the field leading to picks and we are going to be saying "Fitzpatrick needs to stop forcing the ball down the field and start looking for the checkdowns". -
I'll take anyone who can lead Seattle to the superbowl
