  1. The Bill's version of the shout song will be played at every wedding instead of the original version.
  2. No love for Fitz huh? I'm going with Edwards. I still wonder if he hasn't just simply been held back by a dull offense and a bad line.
  3. You beat me to the punch. I was just going to say that if the Pats and all the teams out there who've won with steroid users or refs giving them every call in the book then I'm ok with a replacement player superbowl championship. A trophy is a trophy.
  4. My only problem with your logic is why you don't think beating the Jets nor Pats would be realistic but beating the Ravens would be? I know the Ravens will be coming off of a physical game but we will be playing the Pats right after they play the Jets in what should be a physical game for them and we'll be playing the Jets at home.
  5. Week 2 of the 2006 season, Buffalo @ Miami. A lot of people thought the Dolphins were due for a big year and no one thought we would be any good. This was before I found out about the Bills Backers so I was in a sports bar as basically the lone Buffalo fan with Dolphins fans around me (there was a woman there rooting for the Bills but she wasn't really paying attention). Hardly anyone gave us a chance to win but in the end we basically dominated the game (almost shut the fins out). The Dolphins fans didn't say anything to me but it was still pretty awesome.
  6. Billick really only had like one or two lousy seasons there. Every other year the Ravens were in the playoffs or in the hunt. As for the great players he was "lucky" to have, how did they do before he got there?
  7. Yes, forgot about Marty. I would have loved to have had him as coach. Postseason record aside, a guy who can make the Browns a competitive team on a regular basis obviously knows what he's doing. Granted that was over 20 years ago but his stints with KC and San Diego prove he never lost it.
  8. Honestly, I'm still not thrilled about Chan. If the rumors were true that Billick was interested in the job I still wish we would have gone after him over Gailey. I think too many people got too exceited over Chan's offensive mindset that they forget that there are guys out there who have great offensive minds but make lousy head coaches (Mike Martz). Whereas Brian Billick has proven himself as a head coach. However, I am willing to let all that go for now and give him a chance. In the end, a guy like Chan who wants to be here is probably a better option than Cowher who clearly did not want to come here and probably doesn't really want to get back into coaching anyone period. So if Chan can do the job I'll gladly eat my words.
  9. What makes them a college football town is the Florida/Georgia rivalry. There are a lot of fans for both in Jacksonville (maybe even more Bulldog fans than Gator fans). So the fact that he didn't know a Big Ten guy doesn't surprise me too much. Had Poz played in the SEC I'm sure a lot more people would have recognized the jersey.
  10. Anytime I go to an O's game to watch them suck as usual (and we think the Bills are hopeless) Actually, the biggest issue was one time at opening day of an O's game we accidentally sat in the wrong seats. Unfortunately, opening day is the one game of the whole season where Camden Yards is actually packed so it was really embarrassing when the usher yelled at us to get out of the seats in front of so many people who of course proceeded to laugh at us. Edit: I missed the part in the subject that said "NFL" stadium when I typed this. Oh well
  11. This definitely helps. My only other question would be are there any areas of Buffalo that should be avoided?
  12. Just wanted to know if anyone could give me information if I were to visit from out of town for a game. I've been a Bills fan all my life and never been to a game (shameful, I know) and I want to finally go to one this year. Do you have any informaiton on hotels, tailgating, or just simply what to do in the area for the weekend? It doens't sound like there's much to do but I figure you all would know best. Thanks for any information you can provide.
  13. Sometimes I almost feel like we are in a better position right now than teams like the Chargers or Eagles. They are teams that have no where to go but down (not saying they are going to be bad any time soon) after having productive decades and don't even have the convenience of saying they won a championship. That was the position we were in 10 years ago but now we are on the opposite end. We have no where to go but up. When we finally actually start to go up is a different question but I hope the next time we get a championship caliber team we actually win a championship this time around.
  14. The day the Red Sox finally won the world series was a dark day. I enjoyed holding 1918 over their heads. What made it worse was that the Yankees had them (that's right, I actually rooted for the Yankees to beat them) and blew the 3-0 series lead. That was painful to watch
  15. I guess McKelvin's lawn would have been vandalized even if he hadn't fumbled last year.
  16. Here's a blantantly obvious question that I haven't seen anyone ask yet: shouldn't Cushing have been disqualified from the re-vote? I have never seen someone get something taken away from them for cheating and get a second chance at getting it back.
  17. The worst part is how agonizingly close we've come at times: 2005/week 8: Had a 16-7 lead midway through the 4th quarter before the Pats score, recover a fumble, and score again and win 2006/week 1: Up 17-7 with the ball in the redzone and a chance to extend the lead to 20-7 or maybe even 24-7 we are stopped after going for it on 4th and 1, the Pats come back and win by a freaking safety Last year in week 1: Well, this one was recent enough, I'm sure we all painfully remember what happened there.
  18. I never want to doubt the Patriots but I think their age is starting to show (see playoff game against the Ravens). Also, while still great, I think Tom Brady has proven to stuggle under pressure, something he hasn't had to face a lot in his career until recently. Not saying we will beat them but I believe they are more beatable now then they have been in the last 10 years. As for the Jets, I'm still not convinced about them. Their D will probably be good but remember, our D had a field day against Sanchez in the first meeting last year.
  19. Any idea why the Jets cut him? And any idea why we never made any mention about going after him before the Cardinals agreed to terms with him? We keep worrying about our o-line and yet a solid veteran was basically sitting out there for the taking. I don't remember him under-performing but maybe he did and I just completely missed it. Are we worried about how much we'd have to pay him? He was upset about getting cut by the Jets so I would think he'd jump at the opportunity to play them twice a year even if it's with us.
  20. I like the optimism, although I think if you are going to be this optimistic you have to give us a win against the Pats. If we really are a surprise team I think we'll be especially motivated to play them and they really aren't the team they once were.
  21. I'm glad to see that there are fans who realize the value of picking up a potential high quality back over feeling like you have to draft for "need". We have 8 picks left I believe. I'm thinking we will have chances to improve our O-line so why not pick up a back who has the potential to pay dividends for years to come.
  22. I'm sure I won't get much support on this but I say if Colt McCoy is still there for our next pick we swipe him. He's a steal in the second round.
  23. If we are by some chance in the playoff run late in the season we might get a Sunday night flex game. If we're not then we basically never deserved a primetime game.
  24. Exactly! Campbell has had the talent around him. Moss's numbers were better even when Brunell was QB. Campbell is not an upgrade from anyone we have so we might as well stick with the mediocrity that at least knows our offense until we decide to go after a younger QB.
  25. With the Dolphins and Jets picking up quality receivers basically for steals this week it's a good thing their QBs are still question marks and our pass D at least appears to be stable.
