  1. Hey Clipper, It's me Rian. I will try and do better. OK. And by the way, keeping writing letters us players because we are sure to write back with our ever increasing focus on film study, practice, family and consistent negative press that goes through these sites where the predominant focus has been on our ability to lose so we can get the first pick in the draft. Have a nice day,
  2. Neither the original post nor the prior points note that he should be cut, and it should be noted that it is difficult to hold a kicker accountable because it is not as though there is a second string guy. Truth be told is that there have been some clutch kicks that he has missed and he has made alot too, but many of the ones that he has made have lacked the pressure of the ones he missed. He is good and he has been consistent, but he needs to make some when the pressure is on. Not everything is start him and he is great or cut him because he stinks. This is middle of the road commentary on a guy that needs a bit of a push.
  3. Lindell is fairly solid for the most part and he got a nice kick to send the Ravens kick into overtime, but it was not a long kick yesterday and he missed it. That same distance lost us a game against the Browns on Monday night and it seems like there have been others where he has had a chance to make a kick to get a win or at least a bit closer and he just doesn't get it. Has anyone else noticed this?
  4. Is that cookie in your photo. I would describe myself as white caucasian so I can say comfortably that that guy got the shaft from the Bills. He wasn't better than OJ, but he was closer than what we give him credit for.
  5. Fitz throws a pass to Parrish and Chung intercepts it, but he throws the same pass (opposite side) to Evans last week and it is a touchdown. Last week, it was more man and this week it was more zone. A loss is a loss by any other name, but the reality is that with the exception of the Jets game which was bad by everyone, with a defense that we had last year we would have won all of those games. He has had to throw interceptions in order to throw the touchdowns that he has. The discussions about Fitz are going to continue because we have not had a semi good qb in such a long time but he really is fairly good and his qb rating reflects that. Instead of all of this discussion about him, we really need to talk about the defense. They are getting better but I often see linebackers getting to them four yards off the line of scrimage.
  6. Let me get this straight just so I understand exactly what you are thinking. . . "Last week, I was a fan." "He had me for a week" "I hated him before' and now 'I'm done." Forget the average first half drive start spot, forget no turnovers by our defense, forget the fact that our defense let over 200 yds rushing. He had you for a week. That is just brilliant.
  7. There is no comparison to Kelly but you are a little off. No turnovers today defensively. Your points are a little extreme.
  8. Looked like he made a game saving tackle on Evans after he went out of bounds.
  9. Not to be petty, but in ot with less than ten seconds left, the chiefs did not have enough men on the line of scrimage on their right side. I don't want my first non=loss to be a tie but with less than ten seconds and a penalty, game over.
  10. A long time ago at a point almost beyond memory there was a Jets coach named Parcells with his handy defensive coordinator Bellicheck who ruled the defensive game plans and adaptations of the NFL better than any tandem. Superbowl twenty five was one thing when they begged the Bills to throw in their egos and run the ball against two rushing linemen. It worked to perfection and the better team lost. Any diehard Bills fan knows exactly what I am talking about or at least has the ability because each one of us has the tape but has yet to actually watch it. Bellicheck also slowed down our might Flutie when he was on a roll when he was with the Jets. That blueprint worked for a couple of games but he eventually figured it out, but I digress. This coming game against a strong defensive coordinator who has provided dramatic improvement to a defense that was ranked near the bottom in almost every category last year, will tell us alot about Fitz and the offense. Doing something successfully once is not easy but doable, but doing it two weeks in a row when the defense has heard the hype about the successes we have had is another. They are not going to be surprised and they have studied the tendencies. The talk about not drafting a quarterback, Johnson as diamond in the rough who is getting much closer to diamond than rough, the positive line play especially in the passing game, and the Chan Gailey offense will either step up and maintain or fall into some level of mediocrity which most Bills fans have learned to expect.
  11. Who knows how many tickets this guy bought being from the Baltimore area to be on the inactive list. This is not to say the this staff owes him anything because they don't but we had a Moats and Coleman playing and fairly well and I really don't see how this guy is going to get on the field. His lack of skill and our taking him in the first round is losing its drama especially with a new regime. It is not time to dump him like Edwards but playing or not has become a nonissue.
  12. The Ravens, Chiefs and Bengals are better than we are to be simple and we play them away. The Lions are a much improved team except they are now down to their third qb but Stafford should be back by the time we play them. The Bears are good to and better right now than we are. I am not trying to turn on your optimism, but your arguements are incredibly simple. Is the Bears qb problem more noticeable than our entire defense problem? Keep up with your glass is half full because the bandwagon seats which are really cheap right now will be getting more expensive next year and the year after that.
  13. You think he will be gone in three years.
  14. How do you know this is going to happen? That is really amazing.
  15. I don't think he will be that good then.
  16. There is a motivational book related more to business than sports that notes that it is more important in any business setting when going through change to get the wrong people off the bus before you worry about getting the right people on it. In the Parcells way of accomplishing this, it is during the summer or before at otas. For our team, we appear a little slow on the take which is ok I guess because I don't think that there is anyone at one bills drive who thought it was going to be this tough. Which leads me to Maybin. The Bills defense is ranked last or almost last in every defensive category. There is very rarely pressure on the qb and when we send someone in, our lbs aren't good enough to cover one-on-one. It seems hard to believe but with all of that being said, Maybin "is having a tough time getting on the field". If he can't get on the field now, will he ever. He can't play against the run, he can't rush the passer, and he can't cover, but he is also ineffective on special teams. What I am trying to do as a fan is pretend that he is a seventh round pick and not a first rounder who held out and has some guaranteed money in his contract and that Orakpo, Matthews, and Cushing aren't really that good, or that our division two lb along with our undrafted fa aren't really that much better. That is not reality. Maybin is just a terrible NFL football player and unless he starts taking some illegal steroids he always will be. I am not a 'cut for cut sake' guy. Cutting Walker and Crowell were bad ego-driven moves which hurt the team. If you can find someone off a practice squad somewhere, he has to go.
  17. You are saying Marshawn is a better running back than Fred Jackson. Also, name five that are betting and this is 'overall' running back. Running, catching, wildcat, blitz pickup. My request sounds more disagreeable than it sounds, I simply want to know where you are coming from. Better than Fred Jackson: Johnson, Peterson, Charles and give me some.
  18. He was a good and strong back but he seemed real slow and not real sure of how to get through the hole. I am not at all saying he was bad because he simply wasn't but the move gets Spiller more carries and Jackson who I would say is in the top five running backs in the league on the field. I am not going to blame the new regime for taking Spiller opposed to a lineman. Spiller was the best player at number nine. If you see something that can change the team you do it.
  19. You need to explain that one. The stats, the quickness, cutting ability, route running, and blitz pickup all point to Jackson. I'm not saying Lynch was bad or even too far behind but as far as who was better, it was not that close in my opinion.
  20. The bills were pathetic yesterday and they played like a bunch of individuals getting their paychecks hoping for a larger one at the next contract so they can get out of here. However, you have to give the Jets more credit than what we are giving them. The balance between "we played badly" and "the Jets executed well and made no mistakes" falls in the loss column for our guys but keep in mind the talent level between the two clubs is pretty dramatic especially on the defensive side. I am not trying to make excuses but they are going full throttle to make the superbowl this year and and we are in complete rebuild mode.
  21. Gailey is more forthcoming than any of the past three coaches we have heard post or pregame. He, in my opinion, tells it like it is. I think you are not correct in your assessment but I certainly see why you would feel the way you do.
