Belichick touching the official after the game
Logical Reasoning replied to Dragonborn10's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am a die hard Bills fan but the disrespect for this guy is ridiculous. I thought the kick was good but it should have been reviewed and he deserved an explanation. This was a big, hard fought game by his team and he is a competitive guy. He should definitely be fined because you will have trouble if you don't, but to say he should be out for next game is a bit out there. -

I think Bradham is going to play a big role for us today and for the rest of the season. -

Just a really sad day but what an incredible legacy the guy leaves behind. The real innovator of 'reality tv'. His drive and energy made the average fan become engrossed and completely devoted. I flip through channels like most guys do but who can't stop when they see one of his older shows or more recent ones. Fun stuff. Very sad day for football. -
Romeo Crennel and Scott Pioli

They almost got into the playoffs last year after a brutal start down their top running back and top defensive back. We are a long way off from saying anyone is bad. -
There are plays that come along and can really swing a game. Hillis's fumble at the end of the first half was really deflating for them. I would argue, especially if you get the ball first in the second half, that any score within two possessions is still fine knowing halftime adjustments are coming. The Cromartie interception last week was a perfect example of that. This week, the break went the Bills way.

Stadium 75% empty with 5 minutes left to play
Logical Reasoning replied to Beebes Bubble's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
did you call the radio station and talk about this? -
I don't mean to sound like a homer but did anyone think the bills were going to go 16 and 0. Even the news media was hoping for a 2 to 3 break in the games. Another thing and once again I sound like a homer, but when the Bills were going through their good years I remember a Monday night where the chiefs were primed and ready and they whipped us really bad. I think the steelers also did on a Monday night and we beat them that same year in the playoffs. I am not saying that we are as good as those teams but I think there are just some games where you run into a buzzsaw. The media was killing the Jets for the last couple of weeks and Ryan had them ready for bear and we were weak to it and played badly. The Bills, Giants, and Packers are all winless but they are not out of the playoff hunt. I am not saying we don't have problems but I don't think anger and panic are the way to go.

New York is a media mecca and reports of the breakfast cereal Tebow had might not be too far off what could be expected. That being said, I think Ryan deserves alot of credit for being a fairly strong defensive coach and more importantly a great motivator. In the games that they have had to play really well and made inferences that the world (New York media) is against them, his teams have always played well. The lone Bills game he lost was when Sanchez threw six interceptions and an overtime field goal snap was dropped. I am one who does not believe the hype that their o-line is getting old or their defense is missing some parts. Sparano is a strong coach and Rex knows defenses. It should take us about a quarter to figure out what Tebow is doing and who wouldn't be surprised but a special teams trick play. I think the Bills can win and should win but this game is going to be a dogfight and anything less shouldn't be expected.

What do we want Fitz to be
Logical Reasoning replied to Logical Reasoning's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You need to spend some time away from your computer. -
Fitz is confident and is willing to throw it in tight spaces. If you have been a fan of the Bills for more that two years, you should be able to picture the touchdown passes to Nelson where he picked the ball basically off of the linebacker helmet for the touchdown as well as the touchdown to Chandler against the Raiders last year that should have been an easy pick. The question is: with a better defense, do we want him to be more conservative or just be himself with the probablility of more interceptions. I say let him do the same thing that he is doing and let the coaches coach the game. We have enough talent now around him (healthy) that worrying about interceptions is a waste of energy. If our defense is that much better that unit should be able to cover for any errors to a certain level.

It was this game two years ago that there were discussions about cutting either Fitzpatrick or Brohm as Edwards was already penciled in as the starter. The good news is that we would have cut the wrong guy in Fitz if we did, the bad news is that we would either have Newton or Luck by this point.

Seau brain was damaged (CTE), family sues NFL
Logical Reasoning replied to dayman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
After the death of Junior Seau, the assumption was that the cte conditions that had plagued other NFL players who had passed away early in life like Dave Duerson were eerily similar. The recent results verified that a relationship between his death and post concussion/cte issues did not exist which leads me to something that seems obvious but no one seems to discuss. The tremendous degree of reinforcement and pressure that goes along with the skills and talent of the child prodigy is something that is hard to understand. I grew up in East Aurora and live in East Amherst which are fairly priveleged places when you compare them with South Central LA or ghetto areas in Alabama and Mississippi. I never had to be a star athlete to 'get out', but alot of these kids have entire towns and communities riding on their backs and the pressure to hold up a town/city or more importantly is beyond measurable. If the superstar is able to handle this and compete at a super level, the accolades start to come and their life becomes based on how bright the lights are on them. I think that there are guys like Favre, Rice, Seau, and maybe to a degree our own Jim Kelly (although his support group keeps him very grounded) who aren't afraid of retiring as much as transitioning into their next phase of life where there are no lights and they are just regular guys that aren't asked for autographs and can't move to the front of the line at the grocery store. I truly believe this is a bigger deal than concussions and cte . Providing transitional help via financial and/or emotional counseling would be beneficial. -
I really felt bad for Cousins on draft day. There was some hype about him and I felt, along with many other Bills fans, that we were going to get him. It will be interesting to see how Washington handles his second contract. Swapping does not make sense.

The guy was the first to implement the wildcat in the NFL and whipped the Pats pretty bad when it was new. He found a way to get Reggie Bush going when his career was questionable. He is creative and he has speed at receiver and a fairly solid offensive line that may be getting a bit old in the tooth but still strong. We stopped Tebow last year as his wildcat was fairly ineffective and the wildcat as a whole is not as effective as it used to be. All of this coverage of the wildcat and Tebow. I can't think that it is anything that the Bills shouldn't be fully prepared for. Does anyone think this is wrong?

Have you had trouble with past girlfriends who have dumped you? What is the point of this post? Is it to note how justified the Bills were in letting him go? If that is the case, I would like to note that I don't look forward to your posts on Clements, Peters, Maybin or comparatively Roy. Edwards was given every shot to make this team and lead it with a new coach who was willing to give him the benefit of a doubt from the first day. It didn't work and both teams have moved on. What do you think about the excessive penalties, the fight for second and third receiver, or the competitive kicking situation?

When the refs called the touchback on the punt, I couldn't figure out why and I missed the explanation by the refs along with the people around me. Did they think that the five yard line was endzone line. On the replay they kept showing Brad Smith's feet so I assumed that the refs thought that the guy on our side that downed it went out of bounds and he was the first person to touch the ball which would then move it to the twenty. Did anyone hear an explanation of the explanation.

NFL RUMOR: Bills close to waiving Vince Young
Logical Reasoning replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We're not letting Brad Smith go and we don't need four qbs -
I was just wondering if 'making a play' was limited to just receivers and running backs or players that might regularly score touchdown. If Eric Wood makes the correct line adjustment call that give Fitz a split more second to hit Stevie on a quick post to score the winning touchdown, did Stevie make the play, Fitz who made the pass, Jackson who picked up the blitzing linebacker, or Jones who hustled his but off the line of scrimage to pull the double coverage off of Stevie? Dareus pushed the linemen as hard as he could back, got his arms up and got the ball deflected off his helmet. Everyone reading this knows what happened next.

Nix's UDFA/Waiver Wire grade
Logical Reasoning replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think this is post is long overdue. I think he has done a very strong job, but with the lack of talent he started with, it may not have been as difficult to find talent better than what we had opposed to some other general managers. -
My son went to the Jim Kelly camp and there is a part during the day when there is a 'chalk talk' where Fitzpatrick spoke. According to him, Roosevelt is one of the hardest working players on the team. He studies the playbook, game film, and works hard on the field and does not take playing in the NFL for granted at all. He made some good plays for us last year, he seems to be able to find the hole in the defense, and has good hands. From the videos I have seen, he looks good, but that is a tough gauge. Buddy Nix said that this is the first year where we will actually have guys that will be cut that should be picked up by other teams. I wasn't sure if Roosevelt was going to be one of them.

I am just as excited about the beginning of football as any rabid fan, but I have always been able to rationalize the hall of fame class. Even the older guys have had stats and data to prove their value and I also believe in the concept of a 'time period' player who might not be able to play real well today but dominated when he played. This leads me to wonder about Curtis Martin and Cortez Kennedy. There is no question that they are two very good players, but not hall of fame players. As Bills fans, we saw Martin twice a year when with the Jets and Pats and he did everything very well and was a very tough back but there are many players who have played similar to him that are not in the hall. Kennedy was also strong but nothing striking either. It seems as though the advocacy groups and the politicking have pulled the credibility and prowess of the football HOF. It would be a shame if this continues because it represents a great game with great players who were the best of the best.
