Buffalo Bills 40 times
PDaDdy replied to Happy Days Lois & Clark's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Where did you get that time from? I could have swarn Losman ran a 4.5 40. -
Awesome!
-
Guess your not a Smallville fan. heh
-
LOL....Spiller the Thriller, The Thriller or Thrilla'. Not bad.
-
You forgot the other important half to my statement "Without the threat of the deep pass the short game gets crushed." I think Tom Brady, Randy Moss and Wes Welker have the deep pass threat covered Dont you?
-
Trent doesn't throw those passes
-
GREAT POINT...I wish I thought of that. If all we wanted to do was throw under 10 yards Holcomb was just as good if not better and didn't cost us a draft pick or any real money.
-
Trent if anythind would be Spillers sidekick...and Spillers nickname is "The Red Blue Blur"
-
Thank you so much for point that out! Personally I don't really attribute any RAC yds to the QB. This had been one of my MAJOR beefs with Trent for so long but his supporters would recite yds/completion instead of getting my point that he doesn't throw the ball in the air very far.
-
JP Losman wants your personal appology for bashing him. At least he had the physical tools to succeed. ....LOL.....Yes, I made an assumption you were a JP basher as most Trent appologists are....If you didn't good for you.
-
It's way early but I have a good feeling about the kid. Soooo....I was thinking that he needs a nickname. I posted this in another thread but I was thinking of giving a nod to the tv show Smallville and going with superman's nickname.... "The Red Blue Blur" Given Spillers speed and the Bills red and blue uniforms it seemed perfect. The superman "S" for Spiller even fits. LOL http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M6Ogc-2Fp5w...feature=related

In a nod to "Smallville" and of course the Buffalo Bills I'm going with the "Red Blue Blur" and if anything Trent would be lucky to be Spillers' sidekick.

You could make a great case for drafting a LT although Anthony Davis and Bulaga didn't end up nearly as high on my list as Okung and Williams. I eventually came around to the Spiller idea and that is who we did eventually end up drafting. Any given year we should be able to draft a good quality LT like we passed up on this year. You don't see a dynamic playmaker with ludicrous speed like Spiller every year. That being said I was fully expecting Buffalo to get a LT in the second round or find an above average free agent to man the spot. I REALLY wanted an LT but when you have a chance to grab a guy like Spiller....you get him!!! PREPARE FOR LUDICROUS SPEED!!!!!!
-
Ted Ginn Jr was an ENOURMOUS reach. Spiller was generally accepted to be the most dynamic play maker in the draft and in most pundits top 4 players in the entire draft as I heard.

+1

There is realative "suck" and absolute "suck". We don't know how badly Trent sucks compared to other QBs BUT we do know that 2 attempts for a half a season is ABSOLUTELY sucky.
-
If we are going to keep giving shots to losers we may as well bring JP back. He suffered from exactly the same coaching woes, Mularkey and getting jerked in and out of the starting lineup. At least he was a first round pick with a cannon for an arm and 4.5 speed.
-
I don't think that is what he was saying at all. I think he was saying, liked I believed, that he has known Edwards was going to fail before last season even started. I don't take comfort in the fact that my/our prediction came true but I am pissed that we had to waste another year just to see our fears come to true.
-
I absolutely believe that we, as I have seen many teams in the league do, won't bring in a guy that can challenge their golden boy starter. In some cases perhaps this is a valid strategy if you know you have your guy and his numbers prove it. In our case Edwards proved nothing and could have easily been outplayed by several of the veteran QBs in the league. Jauron definitely had a big hand in how horrible and vanilla things were but Edwards made it even worse as we saw other barely mediocre QBs play with more moxy.
-
Personally where a guy is drafted doesn't matter "too" much to me. The point is can he do the job or not. IMO Edwards can't. I guess your point perhaps is that he wasn't drafted to be the franchise but he was thrust into that roll because JP failed. Regardless of how he got there individually he has not been effective for any significant length of time. Also IMO, Losman did not fail to the extent that people think. YES, he did fail before anyone tries to revive the even more tired Losman vs Edwards argument. LOL. I truly think Trent getting the start was more of a function of the new coach new QB phenomena we see. Edwards still has yet to top JP's individual numbers. Yes I know Cpt Checkdown excelled at completing passes behind the line of scrimmage and bolstering his completetion percentage but defenses packed it in on our offense once rubber arm proved he coudln't/wouldn't go deep and the running game suffered with Edwards at the helm. Edwards also didn't throw TDs that put points on the board.
-
Great minds LOL.

You can try. I wish I had my old signature which was a quote from Jim Kelly about Edwards. It spoke to the real issue of lack of opportunity but also was VERY clear in saying that inspite of that those opportunities were there and EDWARDS just didn't capitalize. Can you tell me how Fitz was able to attempt deep passes behind the exact same line????? In fact as the year progressed we had fewer starters than week 1 on the Oline due to injury and somehow Fitz had time? What "BS" do you have to explain that away? I have nothing to back this up and I could be completely wrong but I would be willing to bet that Brohm probably attempted more passes over 40yds in the air in one game than Trent did for a half a season.
-
Spiller will be able to help this team immensly if the current adminitration makes a complete break from the past. I love Freddy and Marshawn but they should be a compliment to Spiller not the other way around. This guy is TOO talented to worry about hurting their feelings. I sort of hate the comparison but this guy can be the next Chris Johnson which makes this pick an out of the park home run OR he can just be Reggie Bush who can hopefully stay healthier still making him a great pick. That being said Spiller can only make Trent marginally better. Due to his speed and elusiveness he MAY be able to break one of Trent's typically too late screen/checkdown passes for extra yardage or possibly to the house. But who cares? Me? I say why bother. Let's start talking about getting the best QB on field with our star RB in waiting instead of talking about how our star RB in waiting can make an ineffective QB marginally better?
-
I did not notice who it was posted by. To me what is important is the statistical proof of what we have been claiming for a long time. I wonder if this statistical proof will be enough to finally sway the supporters that did not believe that Trent was actually this bad. Everything about him that some have pointed to as a positive when really analyzed is a negative, especially things like his completion percentage.
-
Unless you lived under a rock last year or are a family member we all knew that Trent didn't have the arm or the stones to throw the ball down field. ESPN has confirmed what we already knew. Trent threw just over 1% of his passes over 40yds in the air and 25% of his passes BEHIND the line of scrimmage. Don't give me the BS about the short passing game can work, and there are a tiny handful of weak armed QBs that have had success in this league blah blah blah. Without the threat of the deep pass the short game gets crushed. I hope that Gailey gets this concept. Personally I was tired of watching passes out to the RBs in the flat and defenders being on them before the ball even got there. WHY? Because they knew that Trent couldn't go deep effectively. http://espn.go.com/blog/afceast/post/_/id/...kick-in-spiller
