  1. I'm not bemoaning JP's loss but I am bemoaning the bone head decision to keep Edwards instead. I am bemoaning the horrible, boring slow death football we had to watch the last 4 years when we could have at least had an exciting loser with a higher upside. WE watch the games, win or lose and post on message boards, because we are die hard fans. Most people watch the games because they are entertaining and exciting. They will put up with a losing team for a while if they are at least exciting. We haven't had excitement at the QB position since Edwards became the "fools golden" child endorsed by Bill Walsh.
  2. LOL. Let's not get crazy there fella! It's not a debate. Just an observation by me and a point of discussion. Nothing left to argue as neither will/should ever start for the Bills again. I don't think JP was the answer but I definitely don't agree on the entertainment value part of your statement. When you saw that ball go flying 70 yards in the air it got you up out of your seat. The fact that he actually connected on some of them made it worth it. Seeing the RBs with a little bit of room to run was also satisfying. Even watching him run around like a chicken with his head cut off was exciting in a sometimes frustrating way. LOL.
  3. I hear ya but there are gamers and there are practice guys. They may have to see that Fitz or Brohm could be gamers. Hopefully the coaching staff was honest and Trent truly did win the starting job in practice and preseason. They thought he was their best option to open the season with. They unfortunately had to see first hand that Trent is NOT a gamer. We know what we'll get with Fitz. Competent but not stellar play with a little game. Brohm could turn out to be a real gamer for all we know. I do not think he will or won't be a gamer and have nothing to base either claim on. We won't know anything until he gets a chance if Fitz doesn't provide the "spark" they are looking for. I don't care who we go with as long as we don't waste one more down with Trent.
  4. It's not a bring back JP thread. It's not a JP would have been our savior thread. It's a JP would have been the lesser of two evils thread. It's a can we finally admit our mistake in keeping and backing Edwards to the hilt thread. It's a JP would have been more exciting to watch thread. It's a what could JP have become if given the backing that Edwards got thread. There is no huge debate to spark again. JP is long gone and Trent is hopefully on his way too. I don't even want to give the con man another chance to fool the coaching staff and front office into thinking that he can some how be the starter based on practices or playing well against preseason vanilla defenses. Sorry about your loss. Trent sucks. Now the new coaching staff knows that beyond a shadow of a doubt too.
  5. I hear ya. He had problems no doubt. We saw that Edwards in 4 years didn't over come his maybe if JP was given the same time he might have overcome his own. JP taking sacks would have been easy for a real coach to get rid of. He had the physical skills to avoid the pressure and make 1st down runs. JP's problem was he would take a sack 8 seconds after the snap. Trent took a sack 4 seconds after the snap. Made up approximate numbers of course but Trent just didn't have the physical skills to get himself any meaningful extra time. JP could scramble. Reset and launch a 83 yds TD bomb to Evans. Trent scrambles and throws the ball away or completes a 7 yard pass when we need 15. Those useless passes with his check downs did keep his accuracy and completion stats up that all of his fans loved so much.
  6. Not saying that Losman IS the guy today or that even Losman could have been the guy if the team committed to him like the did Edwards. I'm basically just saying "what if?". Who knows what Losman could have become if we gave him as much time as Trent. Might have still turned out to be a neverwas any way? I'm also saying it would have been a HELL of a lot more interesting watching a guy whose arm and #1 WR on any given play could put points on the board or get your team a win. If he learned to get rid of the happy feet and stopped throwing fastballs on passes to the RBs in the flat and checkdowns across the middle he might have been a respectable NFL QB. Instead we ship him out and backed the wrong QB in Edturds. Despite all of the fan felatio Trent was no more intelligent, a leader or decision maker than JP was, had inferior physical skills and put fewer points on the board.
  7. San Fran is superbowl material compared to how we look. For one, their QB actually threw over 150 yards.
  8. We kept the wrong guy! We should have never let JP Losman go. Paraphrasing Dennis Green, "Edwards is who we thought he was." He is a weak armed checkdown bum. JP was not a savior either but the guy would chuck the ball down the field which at least challenged the defense beyond 10 yards of the line of scrimmage. At least it opened up the run game unlike Trent. Imagine if our previous front office committed to JP for 4 years like they did with Trent? This front office gave Trent every opportunity and never ONCE brought in any free agent QB that had even the most remote chance of challenging him for the starting job. FOUR YEARS!!! It is even more amazing that in spite of the straw man competitors to his job that were brought in HE STILL MANAGED TO LOSE IT TWICE!!! I would have rather dealt with some of JP's bone headed moves and gaffs while letting it rip and trying to win a game than watching the slow, painful, ball-less death that was Trent Edwards. What could have been if JP was given the endorsement of Bill Walsh and the blind faith and support of the front office. Might have turned that kid around.
  9. TOO late guys. They are already found the rotten apple that was spoiling the bunch. Trent Edwards is officially history. Fitz isn't a savior but the hope is that win lose or draw he will play with some BALLZ and THROW THE DAMN BALL!!! Fitz has a TOUGH start against the Pats coming up. Who knows what the future will bring but I bet these BS Lee Evans isn't a #1 threads will start to die down as Fitz actually makes use of our best aerial weapon. It's amazing after the thread I started "the final word..." using Sullivan's stats to back me up that Lee scores over twice as many TDs when anybody but Edwards is the starter. He has done this with such "pro bowlers" as JP Losman, Kelly Holcomb and Ryan Fitzpatrick. THAT is how bad Trent sucks when it comes to using our best WR threat. Guys, it's simple. Look at Carolina. You don't run down Steve Smith because Delhomme lost his confidence and couldn't throw him the ball. You bring in a guy that can get him the ball. Matt Moore is not even that good of a QB and got hurt/benched in favor of Claussen. When Moore took over last year and started this year, however, Steve Smith was back to his old TD ways. We have almost the exact same situation here. Edwards was the problem with Evans not the other way around.
  10. It's a hypothetical question. I would rather have any of those guys starting over Trent. None of them including Trent are long term solutions but they are all better than Trent.
  11. Not to be a jerk but here goes. 1) Don't get rid of talent to try to get talent. Zero sum transaction. 2) Get rid of Modrack and find someone who can evaluate freakin' talent!!! 3) Spend some money you cheap f#@ks and get a real LT. 4) Spend some money you cheap f#%ks and get a real RT. 5) Get a real QB or real effective QB like Vick 6) GET RID OF TRENT EDWARDS x5 There you have it. Unfortunately that just takes care of the offensive side of the ball That's my top ten how to fix the Bills.
  12. Come on buddy. You're trying to split hairs. IF a team hires him he has the right to excel at his chosen profession. Is that clear enough for you? People are still railing against him AFTER he has been hired and is pursuing excellence in his profession. Perfect example. Stallworth KILLS a human being and it was a minor speed bump in the sports media. Somehow Vick is still front page news? I guess nobody cares when a human being of hispanic decent dies an unnecessary death. Where are the people and their moral high horses on that one? I will never understand the wacko's that put such a low value on human life and could care less yet lose their minds when an animal is treated badly. A human dies. Who cares, go on about your day. Hell even make jokes about it. An animal dies and people take days off from work, picket, rail about it at the water cooler. This world is upside down.
  13. If an accounting firm does or doesn't want to hire you do you expect to have people picketing and lobbying against you going back to work after you served your time? If you drove drunk and harmed ACTUAL HUMAN BEINGS would you expect to have a mob of torch wielding moral superiors raling against your hire if you served your time, went to jail and paid your dues? Some NFL teams WANT to hire him and I suspect many more will after his performance Sunday. The issue is that the "some are beyond redemption holier than thou crowd" don't want companies( nfl teams) to hire him and let the guy go back to work.
  14. Our pass rush is in Washington DC. His name is Brian Orakpo I think the Bills got the cards mixed up on draft day and somehow we got this guy Hasbin? or Neverbin or something. Classic mix up!
  15. It's just plain ignorant to not see that he is remorseful and has paid for his crimes, is trying to make amends and rebuild his life. Claiming that he is not allows people like you to continue to be judgmental, morally superior and "holier than thou". All of the smug superiority with none of the compassion. You are a disgrace. I have seen this BS tactic many times before. Instead of accepting his apology and remorse they claim that it is not good enough so they can continue to sit high on their throne of judgment in their glass house and never have to "forgive". Perhaps people like you fear the real test of their faith which isn't aspiring to a high moral standard but forgiving others when they are not as strong and fail to do so. Before you make the next tired ridiculous claim I do think what he did was terrible. I don't want to go out with the guy and have beers, joke around and slap each other on the back. I DO think he has every right to rebuild his life and excel at his chosen profession which is football. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XzytivQsPGI
  16. They would just rather blame Lee, one of the few bright spots on the team. We have some genius deep thinker fans don't we? LOL
  17. Don't bother. These guys are idiots that a still supporting Trent "The con man" Edwards. Every year he cons the coaching staff into thinking he is an NFL QB. He works hard, does something in preseason which may involve being on his knees and he somehow gets named the starting QB every year. As soon as the bullets start flying he shows his true colors and it's more of the same checkdown deer in the head lights football. The real deal truth on this is in a thread I started that included a quote from Sullivan. If you run the numbers Lee Evans puts over twice as many points on the board when he plays with ANY QB NO NAMED EDWARDS!!! This includes such future hall of famers as JP Losman, Kelly Holcomb Ryan Fitzpatrick.
  18. Trent doesn't throw the slant or across the middle in general for that matter. Those patters require WRs to be on the move. Trent likes and throws to the old button hook stationary squat in coverage routes. The WR have to wait for their QB to figure out they were open and throw the ball hopefully before a defender closes on them getting a pick six only to have idiot fans say they should have fought harder for the ball or come back to help out their QB.
  19. Where are all of the geniuses that ran these guys out of town because they thought the Oline was the reason why Edturds stunk. Great job! We are in much better shape now. I'm sure Ralph appreciates your support of his decision to pinch some pennies, save some money and keep us WAY under the cap.
  20. Apparently all these morally superior, holier than thou, high and mighty types aren't actually church goers. Something about "no one is beyond forgiveness" I seem to recall. For shame.
  21. Amen brother. These threads are getting really really tired. Edwards is a bum. Yes the line has big problems but Edwards is an even bigger problem. That guy is a joke and there are still some brain damaged idiots out there that think he is a star in need of a better line.
  22. The coach can't throw the ball for the QB. Trent should have been fired after the end of the 2008 season.
  23. What is your problem? Marshawn did a good job running. Other than not getting better production out of Spiller I think they used Jackson and Lynch just right.
  24. It is as bad as it looks. Open your eyes. Trent is still our QB and our line is terrible.
  25. Getting Vincent Jackson and Marcus McNeil would be great but getting rid of Lee Evans is not a smart idea. Why would we get rid of one of our few bright spots? We need more talent not just shuffling it around. Even with Evans Trent made TO look bad. What chance would Jackson have as the lone WR threat? We need two great WR not trade a medium sized quick deep speed star for a star with a slower but bigger body.
