  1. Quote As a three-time Pro Bowl selection, Peters would seem to be the guy to look to in times of adversity. Instead, he's been the worst offender. He doesn't have an excuse of injury for some of his issues during the preseason. You don't expect a player of his ability and stature to have the lapses of concentration and discipline Peters has displayed. I didn't know you put so much stock in preseason? LOL I guess we read this quite differently. Sounds like the guy believes Peters has "great ability and stature" but has had some lapses of concentration and discipline IN THE PRESEASON. Doesn't sound like the guy is saying Peters sucks. Sounds like the Eagles OFFENSIVE LINE, which includes Peters, is having some issues. Keep up the smear tactics campaign though. Maybe you will get some converts when Peters like it or not likely gets his 4th probowl nod.
  2. LOL. Man I wish I could put you in the room with this clown I was arguing with in a post I started. He was another of these "I love Jackson, I hate Lynch" guys. He swore up and down that the Bills would replace jackson in the short yardage goal line situations. He used this to try to discredit or color the fact that Lynch got the same number of TDs as Freddie with half the touches. It would be great to see you guys duke it out. Is Lynch better in short yardage situations like the goal line, 3rd and 1, etc and gets those short yardage situations? OR, is Jackson left in the game in those situations because he is better at getting tough short yards but somehow magically can't get into the end zone to save his life? One of these must be true.
  3. Good thought but in my opinion you have it backwards. Let Spiller blow the game open and be the home run threat that makes the defense play the offense differently. Let Jackson be the semi change of pace back who is better at blitz pick up's and probably getting tougher yards than Spiller. When it comes fourth quarter time and the defense is warn down you bring in Lynch the shifty battering ram to grind it out and kill the clock for the win. LOL That makes more sense from a trade value perspective but I don't think it would leave us with the best team. Jackson is turning 30 this year or may have turned 30 already actually. Don't feel like looking it up.
  4. This won't be a popular opinion with the fan boys. Jackson is a great running back but Lynch makes a better thunder to Spiller's lightning. Lynch is even better at getting the tougher yards and Lynch is MUCH younger. Lynch is more truly a change of pace from Spiller. It's still really early but Spiller just looks like a younger, more elusive and much more speedy Jackson. Right now and potentially for the future as well keeping all 3 makes a LOT of sense. That doesn't even take into consideration the injuries. If one does have to go next year or the year after that, it's probably Jackson.
  5. There is some truth to that. The team managed to do pretty well after he left with a rookie coach.
  6. Ah Leo! I was wondering when you would raise your head and spit venom. Not surprisingly you some how manage to always disagree with me. You offer no value to the conversation what so ever just the usual, PDaDdy is crazy, PDaDdy is always wrong blah blah blah. Get a clue buddy. It's a promotion to LT. When you look at salaries in the league this is clearly the case. I couldn't care less about your silly comparisons to other positions.
  7. You mean the player that went on to get two more probowls wasn't the same player?...Strange we can't be talking about the same guy. You say he sucks. Coaches and players, you know people in the NFL, think he is good. Hrmmmm...which opinion do I trust?
  8. I agree 100%. I did include an inflammatory factual statement in my original post which created a cascade of posts defending Jackson's low TD output. I got caught up in this myself trying to get people to see the issue objectively but we know how that goes. There is a place for all 3 guys on this team. There are clear roles that each can fill where they will have their niche. My point was Spiller just looks so explosive right now it will be difficult for the fans to understand taking him out in favor of Jackson, or Lynch for that matter, unless it's to give the guy a rest. I know this wasn't initially how Gailey intended to use the guy but now that we have seen what he can do in that capacity, OH MAN!! How do you sell NOT starting him to the fans?
  9. He is including receiving TDs to our rushing TD discussion. I get his point although he was quick to accuse others of misusing stats. This was supposed to be more of a pro Spiller thread. People are going way over the top trying to defend Jackson who needs no defense. He's a GREAT and I mean GREAT change of pace back. People want to make him more than that is the problem.
  10. All I heard was blah blah blah statistics bad. Don't be one of the lazy uninformed people that tries to discredit the use of statistics. The numbers don't lie!!!! People, however, lie about the numbers and will attempt to miss use them. This is not the case however. Maybe you like pure conjecture and BS but personally I like supporting documentation for someones opinion. I can provide it. The nay sayers can't. He better have scored twice as many this year. You know why? Because Jackson ran the ball 237 times to Lynch's 120. He had 29 Red zone carries to Lynches 19. He had nearly twice as many receptions. The thing that you don't look at is what did Marshawn do last year when he was the #1. OH, that's right he DOUBLED JACKSONS TDs from this year when Jackson was the #1. Care to comment on that? No? Didn't think so....So....deal with that! Good points. I just think Freddie with his age will be the one to go. Spiller is a potentially better, albeit smaller, Jackson. Neither really compliments the other as it seems like their games will be similar. Lynch is the shifty bruiser that probably makes a better thunder to The Thrillers lightning.
  11. Uh...ya ....I watched the games. Apparently I'm the only one of us that actually had his eyes open while they were on. How about instead of making bogus claims YOU provide some stats to back your point? Quit making excuses for people. We are talking realism here that's all. What wins ball games is TDs. Jackson doesn't score enough of them. End of story.
  12. WRONG. Already provided stats to the contrary. Fred had 29 red zone touches to Marshawn's 19. As another astute poster said. How good can your starter be if he gets taken out in the red zone? Fred is not a 5'9" 195lb scat back. He is big enough to be very effective around the goal line. The problem is he isn't productive enough. If Lynch did as you allege, which I don't agree with by the way, get more carries at the goal line the coaches obviously thought he was better at scoring. Either way your argument holds no weight. Again your not getting it. Look at what I said not what you think I said. I like Freddy. Let's get that straight. Got it now? Lets move on. Fred, however, doesn't score TDs like a starting RB should. I seem to recall that Lynch in his 2 1000 yd seasons played for some coach named...who was it again?...OH...that's right ...Jauron. Better TD production as the starter in the same crappy situation. I know....I know..you hate Lynch. Problem is he is a better scorer and made more yards after contact. Don't believe me? Here is the link to the stats. http://sports.espn.go.com/fantasy/football/ffl/story?page=nfldk2k10advancedstats
  13. I agree but in his defense the line ABSOLUTELY caved in on a couple of those plays. It was embarrassing.
  14. Wow. I would think the pretty obvious answer to that is no. I meant how do we not make him the starter? We can't over use him but so far he seems like he might give us the best chance for success. Let Fred be the REALLY good change of pace guy he should be. Let Marshawn be the tough yard, 4th down, goal line, bruise em, salt the game away in the 4th quarter RB. That would seem to play to their strengths best.
  15. Never said TDs alone did determine the better back. But good backs score them You're trying to give the impression that Jackson is Warrick Dunn and Marshawn was Mike Alstott. Simply not true. I watched every game last year and I saw nothing to support your stat-less claim. Why do I even remember? Because I used to scream at the TV that they SHOULD put in Lynch because he gets even tougher yards than Fred.
  16. Whose bashing? I am giving people a little dose or realism. People are so quick to hate a guy with some character flaws that they will anoint his replacement the savior. Jackoson is a great story. By all accounts a great guy and team mate. The problem however is that he doesn't score TDs like a starter should. Period. That is a fact. LOL. He said rushing TDs are over rated. They are currently rated at 6 points. You know, the things that win games
  17. Did you ever notice how WRONG you were? PURE FICTION my man. Fred Jackson had 29 red zone touches to Marshawn's 19. Jackson also touched 237 touches to Lynch's 120. Almost exactly double the carries. Please don't spread untruths to try to back a point you can't make. The facts not only don't support your claim they directly refute it. We have 3 good RBs. As I said I think freddy is a good RB. He is a good teammate and loved by the other players, JUST LIKE Lynch is if you can get past his knuckle headed issues off the field. #1 RB? Starting RB? The guy that gets the ball first? We know exactly what we are talking about. Fred Jackson's TD production for those titles are not good enough. Those two guys are a great combo. "The Thriller" so far looks truly special. I know, I know. It's too early to tell. But looking at some of his college film and seeing a good deal of that translate to the NFL in just a few quarters of play is REALLY REALLY encouraging. How do you keep this guy on the bench? Spiller is the faster of the 2 in my opinion. I questioned the times at the combine. He was unofficially clocked at 4.27 but his official time is 4.37? Something fishy there. Best is fast no doubt. Go to you tube and look up spiller. It's is almost comedic how fast this guy is against college opponents. He made some good NFL players look pretty silly too.
  18. THE THRILLER!!!! End of story. Write it down. lol
  19. Dumb thread. I don't know if there were really any Brohm "FANS". There were just a lot of guys hoping he could become something because they were tired of watching Trent suck!!!! I am super critical of Trent but he played a solid game finally which was a nice follow up to his 5 series, 5 of 8, outing the week before.
  20. Sooo....all you Fred Jackson was the best RB on our team fans. CJ Spiller in just over a game and a half worth of football in preseason has already equaled Fred Jackson's production for a whole year. I love Freddy but he is not a franchise back. Gailey knew it. Kix knew it. And, now we know it too. He is a great change of pace try hard effective back but TDs score points! Even Marshawn was considerably better at it than Freddy. That being said. I'm glad we have all 3 but how does Spiller go back to the bench at this point?
  21. Waaaaaaa Waaaaaa. Jason Peters wasn't this. Jason Peters wasn't that. Ever hear of the sour grapes fable? Everyone loved the kid when he emerged as a probowler and worked his ass off to go from undrafted TE to RT to LT. Now he's a piece of crap because he wanted to be paid for it? Please!
  22. If the Bills wanted to keep him at RT, when he signed his contract, they should have kept him at RT. When you get a promotion, like to LT, don't you want a pay raise or are you one of those wimps that lets your employer abuse you and promote you to a better position but not give you the money?
  23. "I am fine with people not liking his business acumen or how he handled the negotiation process but saying he didn't deserve any or all nominations is not a smart statement." -PDaDdy You do realize it was a "Peters is no good" whiner that started the thread right? Your a joke. You people need to get over it. You're like jilted girlfriends that can't let go when your "man" dumped you and is off banging some other chick. What's next? Are you going to slash his tires, go have a good cry and then eat a half gallon of ice cream while watching old footage of the superbowl years? See above about the validity of his probowl nominations. YES...that's how good he is!!! Lol...Obviously in my haste I meant to type consecutive. Good catch though.
  24. Nobody. The game is blacked out
  25. Quit whining. He is a probowl LT just accept it. You can't question the ruler because you don't like the measurement. Players and coaches voted him in along with some fan support last year. I'll take the opinion of actual players and coaches in the nfl over any of the blowhards in this forum. INCLUDING myself, one of the biggest blowhards of all. I am fine with people not liking his business acumen or how he handled the negotiation process but saying he didn't deserve any or all nominations is not a smart statement. MAN. I wish we had Phillys problem. I would love a probowl LT right now.
