  1. Better numbers than both vj and mesean but you'd pay them 9 and not Stevie?! Get some facts and a clue. People like you may not run him out of town but your ignotance definitely gives bills fans a bad name.
  2. I'll pile on. Hes signed sealed and delivered to New England. He had his best year under McDaniels and said he would follow him wherever he goes.
  3. Mike Wallace puts up some gaudy numbers so I wanted to check him out to get more info. Steeler fans are saying that he is a one trick pony who can only run the streak route (sound familiar) also they call into question his hands. Another thing they add is that Antonio Brown is the more complete receiver. There were many comparisons to Nate Washington on the board. He is a good player maybe will end up being a great player but #10 is to much for him. Consider that the #10 pick will get a much smaller contract than Wallace will command and it doesn't make financial sense either. If he was an out and out free agent yes, for our #10 and big bucks no.
  4. I wouldnt really care about any of the bolded at 10. I understand your point though and it is a valid onr. How about this though, how many of these guys would you be happy with: Mercilus - DE Clemson Upshaw - OLB Alabama Kirkpatrick - CB Alabama Perry - de/olb USC Brockers - DT LSU Cordy Glenn - OG UGA Branch - DE Clemson Hightower - ILB Alabama your list and my list makes 20 and I didn't include players who aren't a fit and will be top 20 picks (kendall wright, mark barron, dontari poe, janoris jenkins, etc..). A trade down would still leave a good player and add an extra pick. Some of these positions (dt, de, wr, cb, ot) have wildly different order of who teams feel are the top 3. Trading down i na year like this where the waters are a bit muddied as to who is the clear cut best is not the worst thing. The more picks the Bills get the better the shot of landing quality.
  5. I feel that Stevie genuinely wants to come back here. I think that is why they are working on it now. I know we are jaded as fans but sometimes players may actually have some loyalty and Stevie seems to fit this. http://www.centralkynews.com/amnews/sports/amn-uk-football-exwildcat-johnson-legit-after-rupp-arena-introduction-20120229,0,3516535,full.story “I guess I was just blessed to be in a great spot. It’s all about where you end up. Those guys (from UK) are still probably better or at least equal in talent to me, but it’s about where you end up. I was fortunate to end up in Buffalo and got to play. The coaches saw something in me and I got an opportunity. It’s a weird league. There’s a lot of talent you never get to see because of the team’s style of play where a guy lands.” Where Johnson lands next year remains in doubt. He insists he would like to stay in Buffalo, where quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick has signed a new deal. Buffalo could use the franchise tag on him to keep him, or let Johnson test the free agent market. “I was already planning on making a change as far as the type of mentality I have on and off the field,” Johnson said. “I have put in time with my quarterback. I know my quarterback will be there for the long run. If I sing a long-term deal, I¿can do all I can to build up the organization. I am going to change and become a better player and person around the (team) facility.”
  6. actually tbh I love that attitude. Maybe they wouldnt be sub 500 if they did that. Cam just had the statistically most impressive rookie year by a qb EVER. Most passing yards and rushing tds! He improved his teams win total by 5 games! The great ones (some of them anyway) have this attitude - wrong sport but that quote reminds me of something Kobe or MJ would say.
  7. he is just shy of 6'3" and weighs 223 (combine results) which is not small by any means. Also he showed a steady progression in his passing skills. He went from completing 59.9% to 72.4% by his last year. 36tds to 6 ints, 3,998 yards and a 192.3 rating. That is why he os thought of as a great prospect/franchise cornerstone
  8. not so fast my friend http://www.buffalorumblings.com/2012/3/1/2835452/buffalo-bills-are-not-in-on-robert-griffin-iii-per-buddy-nix "I've visited with (the Rams)," Nix continued, "but not about that. We talk to everybody, and we kick the tires on everybody, but if we were going to probably move either way, it'd be down, not up." I agree that it most likely won't happen and the Bills will stay put at 10 but I don't think it is set in stone either.
  9. How about every one year wonder being compared to Maybin? How about every Texas player is lazy because Mike Williams was? How about every qb from california sucks in Buffalo weather because trent and rob johnson did? I can't stand some of the ignorant comparisons on this board! I really wonder sometimes if people watch football or just come here to stir sh*t up.
  10. Surprisingly he mentioned if they moved anywhere it would be down. I would love it. Couple that with this link and I may get my wish! http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/02/25/illinois-mercilus-says-bills-showing-a-lot-of-interest-in-him/
  11. The cool thing about 2 monday nighters is the west coast getting a true prime time game. Its the only time it happens all year. Most MNF start at 5:30 for them which is kinda sh*tty. On the flip side it sucks for whichever team get that opening mnf games, or more accurately their fans. Nothing worse than opening day coming and your team not playing. That is except for them playing and blowing a huge lead late to their most hated division foe but I digress...
  12. Wouldn't it be wild if the Colts cut Manning so Luck doesn't have to sit behind him only to have RG3 end up sitting behind him. I don't see it happening but what a crazy scenario if it did... especially if RG3 turns out better than Luck - you know it would be credited to Manning regardless of his actual impact. Manning doesn't strike me as someone who would be a mentor due to his competitiveness but I could be wrong.
  13. I wonder how many teams will end up actually going after rg3. With Manning and Flynn more than likely available I think it will remove the Redskins and Dolphins. That leaves the Browns, Seahawks, and maybe the Bills. I think that is why there is so much talk about this happening now. Before FA the Rams hold all the cards, once it starts and a couple of the pieces fall the supply/demand moves away from them. Again I will assert that I really feel it will be the Browns who are the eventual winners in this. If the Redskins and Dolphins do end up with Manning/Flynn 1 of 2 things will happen. The Browns can sit pat and let RG3 come to them at their pick or pay less of a premium for the #2 pick. Either way I will be stunned if someone actually gives up 3 #1s to make this happen. Also I would like to add that if the Rams did trade Bradford (say to the skins for the #6 pick) they will save themselves 26 million dollars! I have no idea why they are tied to this guy. He is/has been injury plagued if not prone and has a huge cap number. Being just 2 years removed from being the #1 he may be able to fetch a decent haul. Imagine the Rams draft if they got the skins #6 and #38. It would give the Rams 4 picks in the first 38! On top of saving 26 mill it seems to be a good deal for both sides (even slightly slanted in favor of the Redskins).
  14. Missing on a qb high in the draft isn't as bad as it used to be. The salary structure limits the financial burden of such a pick and that is what used to cripple franchises.
  15. I can't be the only one who remembers this. I tried looking but couldn't find a link. Does anyone else remember this? Anyway, I think this is much ado about nothing. I think it is all posturing on the Rams price to drive up what the Browns will be willing to pay for the pick. I feel they don't want to move out of the top 4 where they are assured of either Kalil or Blackmon who will both immediately help Bradford. If they move to 6 it is somewhat of a crapshoot who they end up with. The only way I see them being comfortable with this is if they have a different tackle rated as high as kalil.
  16. Well there is documented interest by the Bengals in Richardson. Also KC (who picks directly behind us) has had Richardson mocked to them whenever he free falls. I would also add the Jets as a potential landing spot if he makes it all the way there. So if the BBengals do in fact want him and want him badly enough they may explore a trade. If they do that the logical partner would be the Bills. I'll spin it like this, they would essentially be trading Carson Palmer for Trent Richardson and the #42 pick. It would give them a scary triplet as well as not short out their draft. They would still have 2 second rounders as well. The more I look into it I don't see it happening but I would love if it did. They are the perfect partner for the Bills in terms of where they could really help themselves. Which is again why I don't see it happening... it's to good to be true for the Bills. Btw if it did go down I would draft Floyd/Kirkpatrick/Mercilus at 17 and 21. I think its reasonable that if all three are there at 17 1 of the 2 we dont pick would still be at 21.
  17. I seem to remember a story where Belicheat would bring in all of the high ranked qbs for an interview. It wasn't because they were going to draft him but so he could pick their brain. That way he would have insight into their thought process when he had to face them. If this is whats going on . Also Chan has stated his preference for running qbs as the poster above stated maybe they will look into making a move. Either way its good to do some homework. Finally, maybe this is what Ralph meant when he said we need some runners
  18. Walter Football has had him mocked to the Bills for a couple of drafts now... in the 2nd round. I wouldn't mind that. It also would keep alive Buddy's streak of players from the national powerhouse program that is.... CLEMSON!
  19. THAT IS AWESOME!!! Even more reason for me to like the Thurmanator!
  20. This guy would have been a great pick if the Bills stuck with the 34. He does have an amazing size/speed combo.
  21. Sure in theory... but how many times do players have the same grade? That would be an interesting thing to find out. I know the only other comparison is the nba but I prefer that method. It takes a lot of the guessing out of it imo. If you can just take the best player then focus on your needs in free agency where you can get a starter if you need one easier than you can through the draft.
  22. Height / Weight: 6-5 / 260 http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/draft/player/_/id/27557/andre-branch Pass Rush Skills 3 Can be a quarter-count late off the ball. First-step quickness is adequate but not good. Lacks explosive burst around the corner and is a one-gear pass rusher. Shows good upper body power and the ability to use his hands effectively. Flashes an effective club move but doesn't use it frequently enough and needs to improve his array of counter moves once reached. Shows good awareness as a pass rusher. Realizes when he's not getting pressure on the QB and does a good job of getting his arms up for PBUs or to affect QBs sightline. Versus the run 2 Consistently executes his assignment and does a nice job with outside contain. Plays under control. Shows good leverage out of stance. Is stronger than measurable would indicate. Is consistently able to lock on and anchor versus bigger OTs. Does an adequate job of disengaging but can continue to improve hand usage. Makes some difficult tackles while disengaging from blocks. Good effort Gauged the eye of a Florida State offensive lineman David Spurlock during 2010 contest. No off the field issues to our knowledge. http://blogs.buffalobills.com/2012/02/27/dl-branch-ingram-post-good-40s/ He models his game after Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs. "I'm a versatile player. I can stand up, I can run sideline to sideline and I can also drop into coverage. And I'm a natural born leader," said Branch He's a projected first- or second-round pick I figured I'd put this up before some delta bravo tells you to google him.
  23. I gotta say this type of thing is why I wish the draft happened before free agency. The Bills would be in a lot better spot knowing who they had taken at 10 and knowing what they need to do in fa then vice versa. If they end up having the option of taking a good lt but already signed bell what do they do?
  24. I did this yesterday when I was cruising around that site. I picked Mercilus (prob not a big surprise for some). I also went through and picked the other teams and kept voting coples so he wont be there On an aside... Wondering what your thoughts on DeQuan Menzie from Alabama are. I think he did well across from Kirkpatrick and he is rated anywhere from 3rd to 7th round. Thanks Astro! BTW your latest mock with Mercilus at the top gets a from me!
  25. Haha I was wondering how long it would take for that thread to spawn this poll. Come on people seriously..... It's Kathy bates all day!
