[SB Spoiler?] EA Madden prediction is out

I didn't mean to imply there would be a blizzard or anything. More along the lines of IMO cold temps favor running and defense over a high flying passing attack. -
[SB Spoiler?] EA Madden prediction is out
section122 replied to Just Jack's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This might not be the thread for it but.... Russel Wilson has really been playing poorly for the last 6 games. He is being carried by that running game and defense. In his last 6 games he is averaging 167 yards passing with 5td to 3 ints. I know many here do a lot of hand wringing over how well he is playing and that the Bills missed out on him but he is the definition of a game manager at this point. This isn't a Russell sucks or the Bills shouldn't have passed on him post but the hyperbole surrounding this guy from this board is out of control. He went over 300 yards passing twice this year while going under 200 yards 7 times. I didn't even include him passing for 206,210, and 202 yards either. For the season he is averaging 204.16 ypg! The weather will certainly be a factor but unless he steps his game up this will be a tough one for Seattle to win. The Broncos shut down what had been a stellar run game last game out and forced the pats* to throw to beat them and they couldn't pull it off. I'm thinking the Broncos pull this one out (unless Russell plays a GREAT game). -
Bills hire Jim Schwartz DC, Todd Downing QB coach

The quotes you're sharing are completely driving your narrative though. Were there no positive quotes about him? Were there no fans giving him credit for the defense? -
Miami was incredibly hot today. They just couldn't miss! However the play they ran to death with the high screen catch back door cut for a layup was very concerning. Hopefully other teams don't exploit it before it gets fixed. Cj fair looks very tired to me. He needs to get more rest during these games. I was happy to see Roberson go in and then poof he was gone! I agree about how promising rak has looked. It was another good outing for him. Ennis continues to be phenomenal and grant too. It sucks that they probably are gone next year. Hopefully they can make this year count!

Jameis Winston wearing Bills gear on Twitter
section122 replied to BillsFanForever19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If ej did give it to him it certainly appears thr it would fit under your description. However what proof do we have that is the case? Maybe he is sporting it bc he grew up a fan or became a fan when ej went there. I'm sure in buffalo it is different but there is certainly a perception of old school bills coat, shopping at wal mart (perhaps with your wife who is wearing pajama pants) white trash among many I know near syracuse. It obviously isn't the rule as I wear Bills clothing year round and don't consider myself white trash lol. I do have some friends that will bust my balls about it though. -

I don't know about Jameis but Watkins definitely said that. -

Eh p$&s in my Koolaid was never my favorite flavor... Think about how great that food would taste after a big w! Edit: my apologies I thought the filter would have caught that! -

Doesn't matter the reason just getting the Bills gear out there in a positive light is a great thing. The perception of Bills gear is white trash. Giving it some street cred (did I really just use that phrase? ) would be a welcome change! -

Alright that is a huge stretch to me as the buddy buddy hire that many like to kill Brandon and Marrone for though. I have to ask though since you are not on board... What hire would you have been on board with? I laid out some of the concerns about the other candidates so I'm curious who and why would have been a better hire to you. I'm in the opposite camp I would love a thanksgiving day Bills game! -

The question is what would the slam dunk move have been? Promote Donnie Henderson? Major question marks as a dc. Hire wade? Scheme switch as well as the supposed bad blood. Hire pepper Johnson? No experience as well as questions from his former organization about his qualifications to do the job. There are some in this thread that are down on this hire while banging the drum that Marrone should have been fired and pettine promoted. This to me was the best possible move that could have been made. Also you referenced this being a friend hire as one of your concerns. Is there a previous connection between Marrone and Schwartz? -

That's a very good point. The Browns just hired a coordinator to be their hc (no experience at this position) and are geniuses. The bills hire the hc from a team to be their dc (proven success at this position) and are dooooomed. -

No it's not just you. The different feel continues for me as well. This move was not at all same old Bills. I was wondering after the plan in place talk when the shoe would drop. I didn't at all expect to see the hire be someone like this. A name guy, proven recent track record, and universally approved by the press. Certainly not a George Edwards/wannstache type hire. -

When I saw this my immediate reaction was wow the Bills did great with this hire. I thought when I came here everyone would be saying the same thing. Boy was I wrong lol. I swear they could've hired belicheat to run the d and people would have said he's nothing as a dc without parcels! -

I know this was put out by the Bills so it wouldn't be here but are any national guys panning this move? It seems like universal praise for this move (well except on here). -

I know you do I apologize if that came off as directed at you. I'm with you and my post was meant as an add in to what you posted. I'm very happy with this move as well. -

Well his run d rankings are great but so are his 3rd down conversion rankings. What makes you think he is a friend hire? Have marrones and schwartzs paths crossed anywhere? -

I like these rankings and they are better than pettines. Please if you are down on his hire read the link 26cornerblitz posted and I guarantee you'll feel better. -

That makes more sense then. Is continuity worth taking a lesser known, perhaps weaker candidate? Continuity for continuities sake is a very dangerous game. Especially for the sake of one player who may or may not be here anyway. -

I was already very happy with the move but after reading that I'm extremely pleased. These are two of the defenses biggest weaknesses and we just got a guy who specializes in both! -

Pettine is gone and it had absolutely nothing to do with the Bills. You're mad at the team for something out of their control. Pettine leaving was his choice not theirs. -

I can't believe people are glossing over this. I am a huge fan of hiring ex hc for coordinator positions. Add in the fact that his record of success as a do is so convincing I don't know why people aren't happier. It could easily be argues that his track record is better than pettines as a dc. The bills had a plan in place and executed it quickly. They also hired a guy with a successful background instead of taking a chance on an inexperienced guy like they have so many times before. I'm very happy this is the guy they got and don't understand how anyone is upset by this move. -
It was pretty instantaneous for me. My Draft: Anthony Barr OLB - UCLA Austin Sefarian Jenkins TE - Washington Gabe Jackson G Miss St. Carlos Hyde RB OSU Garropolo Ryan Carethers DT Arkansas St TJ Jones WR Notre Dame I liked the first 3 picks so much I went luxury for my next 2. I agree with it being unrealistic but just for fun I pulled a bpa draft and it came out horribly. I won't even share the results It was so bad (2qbs, 2rbs, no tes or lbs) It's definitely a fun little tool. Thanks for sharing OP!

Possible partners if the Bills want to trade down
section122 replied to simpleman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If it was a trade down with the Eagles I would be okay with a 1st, 2nd, and their 1st next year which seems more plausible to me. I know the scenarios with the Eagles are likely pipe dreams but as Whaley said the Bills are in a position to go bpa at all of their picks. That to me screams perfect trade down scenario. There isn't a position or player that they need to reach for so dropping a few spots and acquiring extra picks is the way to go. A similar trade as last year when they moved from 8 to 16 and netted an extra 2nd rounder would work for me. -

These numbers are crazy to me. When I looked up Oswego I saw 52". Not sure if you have ever ventured up there but they have had singular snow storms that top 3 feet! I don't know if it is poor measuring or what but I still have a hard time believing it is that little. -
