No curse for the media? They sabotage the business and hound and hound and hound and hound and hound and hound because it generates a new story. Not only is it "Matt Araiza is in trouble" but then they get to report on the "inaction of buffalo bills management who won't make a snap decision on ruining this kids life" and then pose ridiculous questions like "are the bills putting football over the human rights of an individual"

But yeah....alllll of that is just unavoidable "news" coverage. These reporters don't have any skin in the game, no money to be made to spin controversy, not. at. all. Just reporting the facts, those guys are 1st amendment American heroes. The Fourth Estate!

A very long read, and the other parts are only for paid subscribers, but his sources paint a picture of McD as a narcissistic control freak who won’t take accountability for anything.

Do with this what you will.

In other words, a typical NFL head coach.

Once upon a time, a loss like this , or any loss, would piss me off and ruin my week!

    Not anymore.

I take these losses in stride now. Realizing that it's just a game and really is meaningless in the great scheme of things and really has no bearing on my life.

Being a Bills fan for almost 50 years does that to a person I suppose.

    And this too shall pass.

I was like you at one time. Now I get mad because I know my window is closing. I'm coming to the realization that I will probably never see the Bill win a Super Bowl in my lifetime. I appreciate and thank you for your perspective. I'm going to try to apply your advice.

Allen doesn't do ***** in the offseason, he admitted it.  He will progressively regress each year he gets older.   He's not mentally there right now

And here lies the problem with Josh. He feels that a 46 million dollar per year job doesn't require working on your craft in the off season. I'm quite sure Tom Brady was able to find the time to work on his game while working on commercials and  recreation. It's possible to do both. Josh just doesn't feel it's worth his time to work on his game or with the receivers. It doesn't take months to decompress. It's something that has to be inside of him, his desire, his love for the game. I think Josh loves to win. The problem is that he doesn't hate losing like the great ones do. I got beat up on this board by a couple of people because I called Josh out about this after watching him do an interview at a PGA major. He was lamenting that he couldn't make all the majors, which was his life's goal, because he had to go to mini camp. Getting paid so much at such a young age has to be very difficult to navigate. He's still a young man and all that money can change a person. I'm not seeing the same Josh after he got paid as before he got the bag. He has time to fix it, let's hope he does.

With 2K posts, this isn't your first time on a message board.

Why do you care to defend him this much?  I could turn my off switch as much as you can turn your off to me right?

Do you think this is worth continuing?  I don't and should stop derailing this thread which I have done enough.

With 2K posts, I'm  not on this message board a lot. I do care to defend a person's right to post, as long as it's not defamatory. You do have the right to complain about another poster. But, as stated, why do you care? Why does his posts affect you so much? You're borderline whining, which is in itself annoying.

I'm not telling him how he should react.  But generally, when someone is very whiny and repetitive, it's not met with positive responses.
Displeasure isn't unaccepted, but better content would be met with better responses.

And you could use your off switch to control what you hear, right? Maybe that person doesn't care how you might respond. Maybe he's just venting. I say let people have their own personality. Why do you care? How does another's venting affect you? And let's be real here, you are trying to tell him how he should react.

Off switch as in we don’t need to voice our displeasure over and over and over and over and over again…many times about the same thing.  Its a broken record of “woe is me”.

I can handle the emotions of a football game so I will keep watching.  You after a loss sound like an Alanis Morrissette song.

Everyone has their own way of dealing with the ups and downs of a Bills game or season. You could use your own off switch to ignore those who are voicing their displeasure, right? That way you're not trying to tell others how they should feel or react to a game.

Bengals looked great against SF, but SF is also looking rough lately.  Cousins torched them the week prior, without Justin Jefferson.

They also should've lost to Seattle the week before that if Geno Smith wasn't out there looking like an abject dumpster fire anytime they got inside the Bengals red zone.

I agree with what you said, but the Bills have looked out of sorts ever since that London trip.

Maybe. The Bills are 5-3, have Josh Allen at QB and have a + 86 point differential. CIN is at home ( usu good for a point and a half ) and are 4-3. They have a point differential of - 13. This line seems about right. Maybe it goes to -2 or something.

Some on ESPN are saying Cincinnati is now the best team in the AFC. The point differential is because of their bad start. I know some of us Bills fans can be pessimistic at times 😒

I do have this faint glimmer of hope that Milano is one of those rare athletes who can make this sort of recovery in time for the playoffs.  That's not substantiated by anything other than an instinct.

On One Bills Live Tasker refuses to give or agree with any criticism whatsover as  to how Ken Dorsey has done as an offensive coordinator. By his reactions, you can often tell that Chris Brown is not on the same page, though he often defers to Tasker overall.  Someone like Maddy Glab seems to imply she has her doubts about Dorsey, expecting to see some big changes this year.

I am posting this because of Tasker's comments on OBL Monday 8-21, related to the Bills' offense horrendous performance against Pittsburgh.  I was curious to see if Tasker was going to level any criticism at all on the coaching staff for how un-disciplined and un-prepared the Bills looked. After all, the buck stops at the top.

But right on cue, and immediately, he made almost shocking excuses for the Bills performance, letting all off the hook.  He said that the Bills just want to play the Jets in the opener and didn't seem interested in this pre season game at all.  He said that over and over, couldn't get that out fast enough to open the show. But not as a criticism at all, but as a valid excuse.

Then he took the next step, and said that this successful veteran team is focused on the winning playoff games, indicating that a game like this had almost no importance to them; so why bother?  But again, he wasn't being critical at all, just offering a lame and strange excuse.

Of course in his hyper-homer like analysis he offered even more damning criticism of the Bills.  As without the mindset that all games, all plays, are important, there is no way this Bills team can contend for a championship. In response, Brown said something like this meekly at one point.

Tasker is one my favorite players in my decades of being a Bills fan, a vital cog in the best teams I have ever seen play in Buffalo, and smart, with great character. I also appreciated his work as a color commentator, as he was objective,  clear, and didn't overdo it, didn't speak just to hear himself talk (see: Kirk Herbstreet, the opposite).

But repeatedly saying the Bills are going to be a "wrecking crew" this year, and not seeing the problems most saw as the season progressed last year, and now in this pre-season, has me losing respect for his opinion. Then, his almost comical response to the Pittsburgh fiasco showed me how far down the rabbit hole he has burrowed.

I think that objective, honest analysis is the most helpful, and Tasker's  has become lacking in both respects, in my opinion.

A few years ago I called his show and offered my opinion on Wyatt Teller. I said that I think the kid has promise and all Tasker said was, "he's just another guy" and probably won't be on the roster come cut down day. He just blew off my opinion and kind of chuckled after he hung up.  I stopped listening to him after that. He's a homer 100% and will never criticize the coaches or the upper management. He is very hard to listen to on tv when he's doing the Bill's games. His analysis is awful! It's no wonder the networks got rid of him.

The panic that's ensued after the game Saturday night is amusing. On August 14, 2008, the Bills 'hosted' the Steelers at the Rogers Dome in Toronto.

The Bills jumped out to a 21-0 lead on the Steelers—running their starters off the field. The Bills eventually won 24-21. After starting hot, the Dick Jauron coached Bills went 7-9. The Steelers finished second in the AFC behind the Titans and went on to beat Arizona in Super Bowl XLIII.

I had to tell myself over and over again, just that.

    Great video/analysis.

One thing that stood out during live game, and confirmed here, is the "variety" of looks, schemes, stunts the Steelers threw at us.  5 man, 6 man rushes, various stunts and fronts/wide 9 too, etc.

This is the Steeler defense, but not something you see teams do in preseason.  They put alot on film, didn't go "vanilla" as some say.  It's not an excuse, but when you don't scheme specifically, and looked like Dorsey was trying new concepts under center/route development, this is partly the result.

Living in Steeler country, I know a couple media/close contacts to team.  One texted me during the game, that he had learned during week that Steelers did some "moderate" planning for this game...to put forth a good showing for their only home preseason game/bitter taste from LYs game.  Just passing along, its impossible to tell how this compares to the "prep" our staff did specifically for this game.

You're exactly right. Tomlin even said before the game that this game would show what we are made of. They got beat 38-3 by the Bills last year and were treating this game as if it meant something.
