  1. I was thinking the same thing when I saw that play unfold, I was very impressed at how fast he got in position to make that play, big Marcell is a beast!!!
  2. No buff too tuff we dive at five!!!.... On a buffalobills.com video Freddy mentions that so far they call it the Buffalo bounce and asks if anybody can come up with a better name, he also mentions that they do it for the fans so let's call it: The 12th Man Salute!
  3. My biggest sin against fanhood vs Chan/Nix was the extension of Kelsay's contract, I gave them sh.t for it, but now I'll have to admit so far Kelsay has been playing good....
  4. Nice set up BillsFanNC!!! Just be careful if the Bills lose heartbreaker style, you have an axe not to far from where you'll be watching the game.... As for myself I'll be watching the game at Station des Sports in downtown Montreal enjoying wings and nachos and lots of beer, and if the Bills win the game, I'll be very very very happy and will be going to work Monday morning with a serious hangover but will have a permanent smile on my face....
  5. When they showed that segment of the fans getting the jerseys, you're one of the fans we saw the most, you looked like you were joking around with Jasper about how the jersey fit you, correct me if him wrong, but it was fun to see...
  6. 100% agree... No QB controversy at all....It's Fitz team right now no matter who they sign to back him up...
  7. Don't know if this was posted before, but Wow!! Can't wait to see him in action with the Bills!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-vnf_oF9K_k
  8. Living in Montreal I can confirm that Alouettes games are ok, and since they make it to the Grey Cup almost every year the "east conference final" game in Montreal always bring 50,000+ to the big O , but nothing will ever beat a Bills home game as far as tailgating and atmosphere goes. CFL will always be a sub-product of the NFL, plus if you think about the major atmosphere letdown comparing a game in Buffalo and Toronto(one of the most boring city in Canada), that makes you feel safe about a potential move of the Bills to Toronto, it's just never going to happen, never.
  9. Awesome game indeed!! I remember we were dressed up for the cold weather that day, but it was actually not that cold for a December game. I remember that play where Bruce almost sacked Cunningham in the end zone and then he threw it to the middle of the field to Barnett who took it all the way for a TD, the Bills safety, Williams I think, not sure, badly miscalculated the pass and got burned for the TD. Few weeks after I was at a friends place to watch the wildcard games on TV and they showed that play during the pregame show as one of the best plays of the year, my friend said: Wow! Pete did you see that??? I replied: We were there you idiot!!! Too funny, that's what happens when you start tailgating early and drink too much...
  10. Born in a small town way up north in Canada, Baie-Comeau, moved to Montreal to study when I was 18, went to my first Bills game the 2nd of December 1990 vs the Eagles, been a die hard Bills fan since then!! Can't wait for the season to start, Go Bills!
  11. You`ll have to explain to me why he would need the free clothes in 5 years : Mendenhall, their-first round draft pick, came to terms on a five-year, $12.55 million contract. Sweed, their second-round choice, agreed to a four-year contract in principle. Terms are not yet available.Mendenhall's deal includes bonuses of $6.83 million, guarantees of $7,125,000 and total cash value of $9,855,000 with an escalator that makes the contract worth $12.55 million.
  12. I only remember him because he`s a local guy, but he did play for the Seattle Seahawks and after his football career he killed his wife : Tommy Kane Tommy Kane
  13. I did count the DB's, wow, 11 1st rounders and 8 2nd rounders!! Interesting info I didn't know about that pick: The 1960 American Football League Draft was held on November 22, 1959, shortly after the organization of the league, and lasted 33 rounds. An additional draft of 20 rounds was held by the AFL on December 2. Each AFL team had "territorial rights" to players from its general region for a first draft selection, so that teams could sign players who were known to their fans. These were not "picked" as such, but agreed on by consensus. The first territorial or "bonus" picks for each team were: Boston Patriots ~ Gerhard Schwedes, HB, Syracuse Buffalo Bills ~ Richie Lucas, QB, Penn State Dallas Texans ~ Don Meredith, QB, SMU Denver Broncos ~ Roger LeClerc, C, Trinity Houston Oilers ~ Billy Cannon, HB, LSU Los Angeles Chargers ~ Monty Stickles, E, Notre Dame New York Titans ~ George Izo, QB, Notre Dame Minneapolis AFL team 1 ~ Dale Hackbart, QB, Wisconsin
  14. Clayton mentions that the talent we have is better suited for the 4-3, so we should be drafting for the 4-3 and stick to it....This year the Bills started with the 3-4 and by the end of the season they we're using the 4-3 more often than not, this offseason they hired Dave Wannstedt as assistant coach and linebacker coach, he is known as a 4-3 coach, not to forget the extension given to Kelsay during the season who is nothing else but a 4-3 defensive end, so are we back to the 4-3 and drafting guys that fit the 4-3 or we stick going to the 3-4 gradually ???...Clayton obviously makes it clear what direction we should be going...I'm not approving Clayton 100% here, just stating why he made the statement that we are going nowhere by drafting 3-4 guys...
  15. Wasn't sure myself, so I double checked, Losman and Kelly are the only two QB picked in the 1st round by the Bills... Bills Draft History
  16. Here's the Q&A with John Clayton: Q: Given the wide range of talent in this year's draft class, if you were the Bills' GM, who would you want to take with the third overall pick? Alan in Portland, Ore. A: If I were the Bills' GM, I'd draft Cam Newton. Chan Gailey can design a good offense for him to develop, even if he's only a 54-percent thrower as a rookie. Gailey likes to work with mobile quarterbacks, and you're not going to find one more talented than the 6-foot-5, 248-pound Newton. Sure, the Bills can draft a defensive player, but I think their talent is better suited for a 4-3 than a 3-4. If they keep drafting for a 3-4 scheme, they are going nowhere. This is a quarterback-driven league and the Bills have had only two first-round quarterbacks selected in their history. It's time to step up and take a Newton. I'm still not sold on Newton, I kind of agree with him on the 3-4 defense, here's the link for complete Q&A: My link
  17. Check out the link to see where ''Stone Hands'' ranks in drop passes... http://stats.nj.com/fb/leaders.asp?year=2010&range=NFL&rank=232&type=Receiving
  18. I`m with you on this one, it is the perfect situation to bring in a rookie QB, the only thing I`m not sure there is one worthy of pick #3 in this draft, or do we go after Kaepernick in rd 2, or we wait next year to go QB (Luck, Barkley and Jones) ....personally I would go defense and and right tackle this year as priority but that`s totally another debate being discussed in other topics on this board...
  19. He could have easily said that whatever happens he`s 100% with what ever the Bills decide to do, and that would have been ok with everybody...but he did say he`s 100% with Fitz, to me it`s pretty clear he wants him back as the starter this year, but of course if they do draft a QB and make him the starter he won`t be saying anything negative to the media.
  20. He could have backed that we should draft a QB with pick #3 , or he could have said we have to look at every scenario with the draft coming, but he went out of his way to say he is 100% behind Fitz ....kind of like you that goes out of his way to say something stupid without being smart enough to understand the meaning of Johnson`s statement.
  21. Did not see it posted anywhere... Was to be expected with the season he had with Fitz, but still nice to see our top receiver fully backing up the QB. http://espn.go.com/blog/afceast/post/_/id/26685/steve-johnson-im-with-fitz-100-percent
  22. This one is for Billsphan on a previous topic(now locked) on Lynch: I usually just read and go on when I see a post that doesn't make sense like that one, but this one is too much: Lynch has one nice run and he makes Nix look like a bumbling old man on national tv? Come on!!! What if Lynch fumbles the ball and New Orleans recovers and runs it in for the winning touchdown, then Nix looks like a genius on National TV? If you only took the time to think for a minute and understand that Lynch was on the market from the start of preseason, when he didnt report early in camp it was obvious that he did not want to play in Buffalo, but no team wanted to take a chance on him early, than Nix had to wait for the season to start and wait for a team with injuries or bad running game(ex:Packers,Seahawks,Colts) to start making offers for Lynch, the best offer that came in was Seattle's and the trade was made, it's that simple. Now I agree that Nix still made some questionable moves since he's with the Bills, but trading Lynch certainly is not one of them.
  23. Stony, I can see why there is reason for concerns with Newton, but isn't it the same risk with every college player? A QB being able to read NFL defenses can only be discovered when he actually plays in the NFL, the thing is you have to be able to teach your rookies to do that, and with Chan Gailey has our head coach I would feel pretty comfortable taking a risk with Newton, one can only imagine what Chan the Man can do with a talent like Newton
  24. 100% Agree...Cam is a beast and a special player , hope he's available at #3 so we have a chance to see him in a Bills uniform, he's a can't miss player with all the tools he has, plus he has shown that he can win big games : Cam Newton Highlights Game by Game
  25. Good post, I'm pretty on the same page as you, the only thing that has me worried about Nix is the 4 years extension given to Kelsay, a player that doesnt fit the 3-4 scheme, and who is average at best in the 4-3....
