Like I said earlier, there was no way any WR was gong to have an impact with this offense. But I do agree with you about Evans being overpaid, but not just for this season. He would be at best, the second WR on most other NFL teams. I just happen to like his work ethic, attitude, and that you can count on him to play every game.

ESPN INSIDER: "Cowher to Bills back on"?
CodeMonkey replied to RocBillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's more than just weather its quality of life in general. But thank you, I needed a good laugh this morning at work and you made me laugh out loud -
But Evans is an iron man. Never misses a game and never gives up on a play. 30% more money than TO, yeah that seems about right.
-
My 12 year old has become a fan as well. He and his siblings started every Sunday early in the season with a breakfast of TO's (which I was sent to purchase on a regular basis), and wore his jersey as we watched the games (and LOVES the pinto tailgate!). But about half way through the season he saw that they were "not very good". He still wears the jersey and watches the games and plays as the Bills on Madden (albeit with Matthew Stafford as the QB so that he can win). But doesn't get too high or too low during the games. All in all I think he has a pretty good perspective on it.

I can respect that Like I posted in another thread, my wife will be watching on TV because of some Indy scrub that is on a reality TV show that she watches. So she will be watching while I am off doing other things. It just seems so surreal and wrong

Exactly. There was no way a WR was going to have a big on field impact with that offense. Anyone capable of looking objectively at this team could have seen that. The Bills FO may not be the best in the league, but they aren't complete morons either.

Shocking news! Clayton doesn't believe Sal's report

Follow Glinda's instructions ... close your eyes, tap your heels together three times and say "There's no place like home Buffalo." -

The states got wise to that and now it is taxed at the source of the income. -
Failed? This past season had one of the worst teams ever, and had the best season ticket sales ever. It was a complete success.

ESPN INSIDER: "Cowher to Bills back on"?
CodeMonkey replied to RocBillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Probably a guy who is trying to talk his wife, who grew up in NC and currently living in Raleigh NC - and who endured Pittsburgh for 15 years and Cleveland before that, into moving from Raleigh to Buffalo. Nice restaurants as compared to Raleigh? Not hardly. And how many friends would either of them have in Buffalo? Particularly given the fact that she is basically "home" now. Again, there is considerably more to this than just what he wants (even if he did want Buffalo, which I can't believe is the case anyway). He is not desperate for a job, and I suspect their feeling is that his wife has "done her time" in the northeast. I mean no offense, but you must be single dude -
ESPN INSIDER: "Cowher to Bills back on"?
CodeMonkey replied to RocBillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well because this is a day of opinion and speculation, here is mine. Cowher now gets to spend most of the week with his family. He goes to the TV studio Sundays where he shoots the **** with other football guys, watches whatever games he wants, then shoots the **** again with the same guys. No 100+ hour weeks, no bull **** from owners/fans/press/players/agents. And for doing this he gets paid (reportedly) more than he was making coaching the Steelers. Now if you are in Coach Cowhers shoes, do you: A) Take a job in armpit Buffalo NY, with a team that even if you are perfect with drafting and FA pickups, and get very lucky every other way, are 3 years from being anything. Just because other positions didn't pan out this year. Or B) Stay with your cushy gig one more year and keep looking for that perfect fit position. Anyone selecting A needs to put down the bong and stop drinking the bong-water. -

An interesting question ... Hmmm. Baltimore, Oakland and Phoenix aren't exactly garden spots, but the weather is better. And then there is Cleveland. Buffalo is right up there though. -
He should paint FU NFL this weekend.

ESPN INSIDER: "Cowher to Bills back on"?
CodeMonkey replied to RocBillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I heard that Russ was in contact with Tom Landry and he didn't say no either. A friend of an insiders brothers cousin-in-law told me Russ went to a psychic downtown and apparently Landry is impressed with the Bills organization. [sorry, all these speculation threads have me a bit giddy] -
My plan is to go to the tailgate then skip the game and do some other stuff. I gotta go with the under.

Starting Fitz would only be a marketing ploy..
CodeMonkey replied to NixFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I disagree. Many Bills fans will buy seasons and tickets in general regardless. That has been proven at least in my mind. Because it IS a business first. -
Lines are Outrageous this week
CodeMonkey replied to CountDorkula's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This has got to be a tough week for the odds makers. With so many teams playing meaningless games they don't even know if many starters will even see the field. For example the Bills game. The Colts gave up the perfect season by sitting starters last week. How many starters will even play at all this week now that it is a 100% meaningless game. If it was my decision, I'd probably not even have Manning and a few key others make the trip. And think about that Buffalo game again. Generally they give the home team 3 points just for being home. That means the odds makers think the Indy scrubs are slightly better than the Bills starters Though my wife is excited to see this game because Hank Baskett who is a Indy scrub is apparently on some reality show she likes (married some Bimbo named Kendra who the show is about). If it is on TV she may watch the game while I am doing something else. Talk about role reversal. -

I don't know one way or the other, but being involved in the negotiations does not mean he was involved in the decision. -
Bills compiling new list of coaching candidates
CodeMonkey replied to Tortured Soul's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Because they are from Buffalo. Geez, I could have written that piece of common sense. -
I got this in my fortune cookie with lunch and figured I'd pass it along to the Bills FO ...

I would take a flier on Brohm over any of the ones in that list and hope for the best.

To be clear, Dungy and Cowher are acceptable
CodeMonkey replied to major's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
These 'acceptable' threads are in-!@#$ing-credible. You think Ralph just has to snap his fingers and anyone will take the job? No one with other options in their right mind wants this team. The best we can hope for is someone looking for a chance in that position and is willing to gamble and take the job. And hope futher he ends up being worth a ****, This is Buffalo !@#$ing NY and the Buffalo !@#$ing Bills! Dungy and Cowher are acceptable, give me a !@#$ing break. We will take what we get, continue to watch, and most of us will continue to buy (seasons) tickets. Period.
