  1. That's what I was saying in the thread about the schedule. It is brilliant for maximizing ticket sales for the season.
  2. I'm surprised they made the Browns a bronze. They have a non-trivial local following, plus their fans travel well. But it is late November I suppose.
  3. For me it sure would be, and you would think it would be a big deterrent to anyone. But it would be a biz decision as to how quickly they could make that up in a more lucrative market than Buffalo. Only time will tell.
  4. If any new ownership decides to break the lease, I'm sure the county would make it anything but easy or cheap for them to do so. If for no other reason than it would be political suicide for any county politician to roll over and play dead on this issue. As to the bolded, this is a very good example. But say you are this person, you would certainly pay a penalty for breaking the lease. But after paying the penalty, where would you be living , in the original apartment or someplace else? That is, do you think the court would force you to stay in the original apartment?
  5. I have my doubts as to how effective any of the things you mentioned would be. My thought is they are dealing with a billion dollar business and the new owners as well as the NFL will do what they feel is in the best interests or their business. Show me the money! But I agree with you in that there certainly is no harm in trying.
  6. I'm curious, what role do you think "we" play in selecting a new owner?
  7. The bottom line is, go or stay, in 2020, or earlier, or later, or stay in Buffalo forever, none of us have any control over that. Simply enjoy having the team in Buffalo for however long it is here. Carpe diem!
  8. This apparently is the entire Jills document. http://www.scribd.com/doc/220066268/Jills-Glamour-Etiquette-Hygiene-Rules
  9. He is a good looking, wholesome kid with a big following from his college days so that is probably a really good job for him.
  10. Could be. But apparently they were on "The Today Show" (nationally televised talk show) this morning so it might take more than a couple days now.
  11. Yes I am very pro nightcrawlers unless Bon Jovi likes them. In which case they should all rot in hell!
  12. You are hilarious. I am pro Bon Jovi because I mentioned he had enough money to assume someone liked what he produced? And you say there is not enough "public scorn" for him because he wants to own a team and doesn't care if it stays in Buffalo NY or not? Please leave me out of your nonsensical rantings, ok? Thanks.
  13. "A new sheriff in town" I recall a similar, if not the exact, thread title when Nix and Gailey took over. Nothing wrong with some guarded optimism, but a little early to be declaring greatness.
  14. Cheerleaders sexually objectified? Their bodies evaluated??? How could this be?????? Look, if they were underpaid then they should sue the hell out of whoever was responsible. But being evaluated on your looks etc. is part of the gig. Anyone would have to be a moron not to know that was going to happen going in.
  15. You mean if you are a season ticket holder they won't sell you tickets for your kids at the reduced price? If that's true I'm shocked. But pick up a couple on stubhub for even cheaper than the kids price. You can still sit together, particularly in the 2nd half.
  16. That is absolutely true. I am a Bills fan. I used to be a football fan maybe 10-15 years ago but not any more.
  17. The cheerleaders at our local high school don't even cheer at many games anymore. Their main focus is the gymnastics like competitions that exist now. The whole leading cheers thing today just seems to be a throwback that they do once in a while.
  18. RE: 6 years - They wouldn't have to. But that has been discussed at length and with excellent informed input in another thread. Some choose to believe it, and others don't. RE: decreased sales and revenue could actually work in their favor. If the Bills break the lease and the county takes them to court and the court awards the penalty payment to the county (specified as $400 million in the lease), the court could make the county provide evidence of $400 million in damages. If sales and revenue due to game attendance dramatically fall off (due to the sale of the team), the county might not be able to prove that much in damages and the amount the Bills would have to pay as a penalty would be [considerably] less.
  19. According to Forbes Nov 2013 the value of the Bruins was 600 million including 277 million from the stadium. So the value of the team itself would be 373 million, The Sabres value was 250 million with 76 million from the stadium (somehow) for a value of 174 million.
  20. Ahhh. I was judging it on what Pegula paid for the Sabres. I didn't realize how much of a bargain he got
  21. Hmmm. I'd like to see the bottom line for the new Bills owner after a few years and compare to the Bruins, Habs, Pens, or Leafs owners during the same time. I suspect the TV contract would make even the Bills more profitable overall. But if you took away TV contracts, the NHL would survive. Do that to the NFL and it would collapse within one year. Plus the cost of a NFL franchise is about 4 times a NHL one. Which is the more viable? I'm not sure.
  22. The fantasy football people I know have their tablet/laptop next to them while they watch a game. The get their fantasy info online in one concise place and watch whatever game they are interested in. The networks are catering to games that give them the best ratings. Best teams/games equals best ratings. Simple. When the Bills and other AFC teams stop sucking you will see them in prime time as well. As with everything else in the NFL, show me the money baby.
  23. It's the Bucs game on Saturday Aug 23 at 4:30. A Saturday at 4:30, you really can't ask for more. The Bills do a really good job making it very enjoyable for the kids and the hard core drunks are encouraged to (and do for the most part) stay away that game. We go every year and I highly recommend it to Bills fans with kids. The fireworks show after the game is usually nice as well. And don't buy tickets from the Bills. You can usually get them dirt cheap on StubHub (or probably from people here as well), the exception being recently when it was against the Stillers and Stillers fans were buying them at near face, the bastages! Enjoy!
  24. The PDF from the Bills site (far left button) printed fine for me. http://www.buffalobills.com/
  25. That really means nothing.
