  1. this is a great thread.. glad to know that i'm not alone in being miserable the rest of sunday evenings and nights, and on to monday and usually longer.. when we lose i hate to even read the news or watch game recaps, it's all too fresh and still burns.. sometimes i'll wait till wednesday until i even come back to Two Bills Drive as for the screaming, swearing, hollering and yelling at the tv, the refs, the cable company, the commentators, and pretty much everyone else in the area, that's about par for the course. i've tried hard to exercise some restraint and try some self-control, but it doesn't work. it's pointless, you can't be a half-hearted fan, i'm either all in, soup to nuts, or i'm nothing, and much as i tell myself every season i see DJ on the sidelines that 'this season i don't care, i will not fall for this rigmarole again', guess what, here i am again. good luck to everyone this season, may the force be with us. NB: props to that everclear martini recipe.. yowza!!
  2. notice how we consistently keep getting burned by opposing TEs and slot receivers.. Crumpler was all over the place to begin with and we couldn't keep up with him
  3. when i said theme i was referring to for example, Singletary focusing on the physical pads-on approach, Cable focusing on the basics of formations etc. one would think that DJ would try something new, after all, his methods don't really seem to work now, do they?!
  4. i don't know if that kind of approach would actually be good for us too! a team that hasn't made the playoffs this decade cannot really point fingers and telling other teams they suck!
  5. check out this link my question is, does our training camp have a 'theme' to it, a particular aspect being focused on or are we just going out there and doing basic drills?
  6. was just going to say, the BU hockey team was exciting to watch and got all the way there.. just for the record, i might be biased, i went to BU after i graduated UB..
  7. how's about you apply for the position to co-ordinate media events then..
  8. Roscoe is less like Chrebet and Welker, and more like Teddy Ginn. However even Sparano has been able to integrate Ginn into the offense pretty well; anyone remember us getting gouged for big yardage last year?! I agree with the poster a few pages back who stated that no receiver stands a chance playing for DJ..
  9. Matt Cassell played so bad in training camp and preseason last year that a lot of people thought he was going to get cut and Matt Gutierrez was going to be starter after Brady went down. Yeah right, look how that played out. Of course, Cassell might be a product of the Bellicheat system whereas here in Buffalo we have no system, so I wouldn't be surprised if even Peyton Manning came here and struggled!
  10. excellent excellent D-coordinator, will always be remembered as a coaching legend.. prayers to the family, and RIP Jim
  11. there's a reason why the 'Ask Tim Graham' is pinned right at the top of the board
  12. right. and the 'Skins have a long history of correctly identifying talent and making shrewd, smart cash decisions. this is going to be a long weekend, i can feel it already.
  13. 1) The secondary is only as good as the pass rush. If we're not getting a pass rush on, the opposing QBs will have all day to wait for openings and mismatches to develop in the secondary. Pass defense numbers can also be deceptive - if you can't stop the run, teams will run against you all day to control the clock, and your secondary looks better by the stats. 2) Just the interior? From what I remember, most of the pressures and sacks we conceded last season were from the outside.
  14. just out of curiosity, is your shoe size higher than your IQ? in which case you should be very comfortable inserting your foot in your mouth.
  15. Reggie Corner played pretty good last year whenever he was on the field
  16. Whitner is not going to be doing much roving if the defensive line doesn't get any penetration.. he'll be too busy back-pedalling..
  17. i'd be more interested to see how many two-a-days and the like we have to build some team stamina
  18. i hear you man, i love football season.. i work half days on saturdays, so i try to get out about 11 and then my weekend really starts with the noontime college game..
  19. they still aren't.. once you're out of Boston and go west, the Red Sox and Nascar come high on the list of priorities. the Celtics and Bruins are lower down on the list, and the Pats* even further below
  20. wow!! i really liked him too.. he had lots of leadership ability, and a pretty good arm RIP man
  21. Thank you for your 'realistic view' post Thurman#1, you're right - depending on what tint your glasses are, the same article can be read any which way you want. The one positive that I take away with our interior is that these kids are hungry, and not afraid to do whatever it takes i.e finish tackles - they might bust, but at the same time if they do their jobs they'll actually make Walker & Butler look good doing theirs too. I really hope Edwards is working on his 'internal ball clock', because out of (say) 30 pass attempts in a game, he might be able to get the ball out 25 times, but one of those 5 times he doesn't he could get hurt (remember Cardinals last year?)..
  22. damn horns, buzzing around like giant mosquitoes Miller was bought by Castle Brewing, whose flagship brew Castle Lager tastes just as bad as Miller
