  1. I recently had a conversation with my therapist about this.  It seems that this phenomenon can be explained, in part, by dissociation.  I recall long drives home from a stressful day at work or a busy day of grad classes, and forgetting the last 20 miles of my commute.  Totally lost in nothingness. The brain’s neurological coping mechanism.

Yes. My nephew's boyfriend.  He's a 300 pound vegan! Seriously... It ain't as healthy as you think.

I heard an interview recently with Rick Rubin where he talks about how he was a strict vegan for a substantial amount of time, yet he was the heaviest he had ever been in his life.

It’s every individuals choice, but it can make things tough on friends and family who have to accommodate. It’s just one small thing to consider, not to change your plans but it’s just a little different if you have a group who wants to go out for a bite to eat.

    Good luck with it!

In other words, don’t go out to eat at restaurants at which you aren’t completely certain there are vegan options.  Call in advance.  No one wants to sit there for 25 minutes while the waitress goes back and forth to the kitchen trying to figure out if your meal can be made vegan.  I’m trying to help 😉

  4. A vegan diet CAN be healthy if done correctly.  My wife was a vegan for over a year, but has gone back to eating meat and fish occasionally as she found herself to feel “fatigued” and not herself at times.

You need to be careful to consume foods that give you protein, calcium, iron, and other essential vitamins such a B12.

Who wants to be a nurse? Such a grind. Give the medical degree away free, now we are in business... That's why healthcare is so expensive... The damn doctors.  They need a sweet return on their medical education expenses...

    😏

I want to dunk your head in a toilet and give you a swirly so bad.  Nerd.

That's how my wife got her MLIS (Masters Library & Information Science) degree (U of I) paid for. This was like over 25 years ago... She had to agree to stay working in Illinois for a certain number of years.

Kind of like Northern Exposure when Joel Fleichman had to work in Alaska for 10 years to pay off his medical school bills.  I did 3 years in Fairbanks!  I should get a bonus!  😂

Forgive me, for I’m not really familiar with all this. Did I read you have to work as some type of “public servant” (that is a terrible term IMO, so please let me know if something else is more palatable) for a period of years?  If that is the case, hell ya! You earned that!

    Yes.  Ra Ra Hammersticks!!

PSLF is built into the fed loan agreement. Taking advantage of something that the G freely offered when you signed your note isn’t exactly robbing anyone. It’s an alternative way of paying your loan back, 10 years in public service.

Of course it might help if the title of the thread was correct 😂😂😂

Public Service Loan Forgiveness…sorry jerk 😉😅

OP is employed in the public school system. The kind of service that these programs incentivize is something we should be supporting, not making folks feel badly about. How is this materially different from the GI bill or subsequent iterations

    Excellent point.  Thank you.

    Only ignorant people think that.

Um, @Westside , I know this might not be the best time to ask, but I’ve had my eyes on this expensive bottle of Japanese bourbon at the liquor store.

Even with the new “expendable” income due to my recent student loan forgiveness, I can bring myself to splurge.  Given that you’re so rich, would you be willing to buy it for me as a congratulatory gift?

One thing about trades... the side jobs are endless.

Also people looking for free labor.  My father was a union bricklayer for almost 40 years, but was a jack of all trades type of guy.  I can’t remember too many weekends where he wasn’t helping someone remodel their kitchen or doing plumbing.  Always helping others 😂

I didnt catch any of last nights game.  How did they give up the 2 goal lead in the third? Did they lose composure or allow good goals?

Ehhh….the TB goal in the 2nd resulted from a bad VO turnover in the defensive zone.  In the 3rd, 2/3 goals were legit good goals.  The other was due to a half assed defensive effort, IMO.  Swiping at sticks instead of putting bodies on bodies.

I think the two WC spots will come down to BUF, NYI, FLA, and DET. The Caps suffered a terrible loss last night to the Ducks. The Pens got rocked 7-2 to the Oilers. They have no defense and goaltending. I think this is finally the year the Pens and Caps both miss the playoffs. Both are older teams and in need of a rebuild.

Caps are already sellers at the trade deadline.  I think they’re ready to fold.

All games should be 3 points.  Why are regulation games 2 points and OT/SO games 3 point affairs?

    Make regulation wins: +3

    OT/SO wins: +2

    OT/SO loses: +1

Play 4 on 4 for the whole game or make ice at least international size. Just not enough room out there with all the advancement in talent and equipment/skate technology...

...The North American game originally had 6 skaters and it was dropped down to 5.  Make it 4 now.  We see how exciting OT is 4 on 4...  OR, again, make ice surface bigger.

Trap hockey sux... Waiting for odd-man rushes blow. More wide-open play

    This is a horrible idea.
