  1. There are more players that fit the 3-4 role than 4-3. Look at the pash rusher in each D. Either a OLB or DE on the right side. in a 4-3 you need a guy like Peppers/M. Williams. Those guys are no where to be found. 6-7, 300 pounds, run a 4.6 something. You can get away with a guy like Schobel and all but we dont that great a pass rush. Now look at the 3-4 rusher. James harrison is 6 foot, 240. There are tons of guys like that on every NFL roster. Guys like Joey Porter are great athletes but dont have the size, there just are not as many players as athletic as a Porter and 6-6 280+. As for the NT in a 3-4, yea there are not many 350lb humans, but the NT is asked to anchor in one spot and take up blockers. The best ones can move but movment in not as important as strength. a 350 pound man will be much stronger than they are fast. as for a 3-4 DE, they need to be 300+ pounds, strong, but not as fast or quick. the 4-3 asks the D lineman to be best and fast and quick and strong. There are guys liek that but a whole lot less than just big guys who are strong with decent feet.

I disagree in the 3-4 its harder to get a big NT to clog up the middle and get bigger MLB's. Its also harder to get those Joey Porter type OLB's who can blitz effectively. In a 4-3 you can get away with OLB's who are primarily run defenders and coverage guys.

I agree with you though that the DE's in the 4-3 are primarily used for pass rush and run support. In the 4-3 you count on you two DE's to get at least two thirds of your pass rush. But while the DE's are harder to get in a 4-3 the rest of the Defense is easier to acquire. So I think wholistically a 3-4 is harder to put in place than a 4-3.

  2. just think if we start Flutie that never would of happened....we could of won the Super Bowl that year

Well if it wasn't for a forward lateral the Bills would have won the game. I was for Flutie starting the game because you stick to what got you there. But RJ did put the Bills in a position to win the game. So I think that RJ wasn't at fault for the loss. Like I said we make the tackle on that play we win the game and the move to go to RJ looks like a good one. I guess we should just let it go but until we have another playoff moment we just can't let it go.

As for Miller Lite it sucks. Besides Sam Adams I rarely drink American Beer. Miller is just not the kind of beer I like.

  3. my opinion: smoke as much pot as you want (its your body, life and decision) but don't Kill innocent dogs-

and you think he would have stopped doing this if he did not get caught? you know the answer-

Would you have cared if Vick fought Rats. OR is it because its an animal a lot of people have as pets that you really chastise Vick's actions.

  4. Pros:

    1) Jason Peters is an athletic freak that has both enormous size as well as muscular tone.

    2) Because of 1, he has above average speed, strength and balance for his position

    3) Because of 2, he is an ideal choice to run behind and IDEALLY, use in misdirection

    4) He was acquired on the cheap, but was rewarded with a stepped up contract prior to expiration

    5) The only player with the physical stature of Peters available to replace him was Jason Smith of Baylor

    Cons:

    1) Jason Peters lay face down with a torn groin at the end of 2007, and in my opinion has not regained his same level of speed and balance

    2) Jason Peters did not take his injury seriously and held out of all training and team sponsored rehabilitation while at the same time demanding another contract adjustment

    3) Jason Peters is a highly functioning invalid, given his score on the Wonderlic

    4) Because of 3, Jason Peters is not an ideal choice in an offense geared to quick, intelligent decision making, which the Bills have assembled the pieces for over the past few years and look to employ this season

    5) Jason Peters put unreasonable demands on the team given his production level and dedication over the past 18 months

This does not mean he was unreasonable in wanting an extension for his overall body of work

    Result.....

The Bills made what I consider to be a wise decision given Peters play after return from injury, their new offensive philosophy, and the position Peters and his agent had taken

As for his ProBowl visit last year, anyone doubting Union politics in the NFL needs to understand the power the players have. Watching Troy Vincent in action off the field as well as talking to many former players will let you know how tight it is to those with understanding. For the love of the baby Jesus, they all wore a Gene Upshaw patch on their jerseys, even if they all weren't on board.

Will the Bills be a better team because of Brad Butler in the lineup instead of Peters.....no. But when you take salary, system, draft picks, and the example this trade sends into account....the franchise is ahead on a whole.

Good take on the Peters situation. HOWEVER to say the franchise is ahead on a whole is a little early. IF Wood and Levitre are busts and Peters goes on to have a HOF career than we look like dopes in that trade. I like how the Bills are trying to build the line once Peters was gone. They used the picks to try and fill up the other 4/5's of the offensive line with young talent that could gel into a unit that is good in the long term.

Once again I think you got a good feel for how the Peters situation turned out. But to say we were the winners once you take into account the fact that he might be a little overrated, we don't have to pay him, we got three draft picks including a first rounder, and the fact that we are running a system he might not be best for is still even with that good logic too early to tell.

And besides I think Peters could have fit into the no huddle and I think he will be very good for Philly although not great. But if Wood and Levitre develop into good guards and if Butler was better at RT all along than I say the trade worked out for both we got two good guards and it allowed us to move Butler to a position where he was better at. While Philly got a long term anchor for their o-line.

  5. I think where Tebow is drafted will depend on how he develops & plays this year. He has a LEADERS personality. That can't really be taught, you either have it or you don't. He showed his leadership by putting the loss to Ol Miss on his own shoulders last year, not by calling others out. He also put the team on his shoulders & carried Florida to the Championship Game when Harvin was injured & could not play. To all that think NFL LB's will kill Tebow, he is as big and tough as most RB's in the NFL & unlike Trent Edwards.................he does not get injured.

Eli Manning is a soft spoken guy but he is no the Man on the Giants. Why because he won a SuperBowl. I think you are overstating the whole Leaders personality thing. While certain guys have more leadership qualities that make them able to harness the ability of others it still comes down to what have you done for me lately. Tebow can't yell at anyone in the NFL till he takes a team deep into the playoffs. If I was a guy in the huddle and this guy who has done nothing in the NFL is trying to inspire or yell at me I probably would think Hey kid its the NFL your not in college talk is cheap do something.

If Tebow pins the loss on himself or others who cares all the media wants to know is will you win the next game and if you don't than they will kill you for that loss. I think the whole NFL LB's will kill Tebow is more from the he is not going to be able to run the ball as effectively because the LB's are bigger stronger and faster.

If I was a team I would only draft Tebow under 1 situation. If I was a team with an ageing QB who while not ancient only has like 3-4 years at a high level left. AND I had a coaching staff that could use him in the Wild Cat in the short term and take those years and develop him into a more polished QB for the long term. And I would only spend at most a 2nd round pick on the guy.

  6. I would have him split time with Derrick Fine. Fine is a solid blocker who isn't a terrible receiver. If you have him and Nelson who has the tools to become a great receiving tightend why not have those two take a shot at the position? If you want Nelson to get better at rout running than give him a few plays at wideout each game as well as some time at Tight End.

I am worried they are going to forget that in addition to rout running he has to work on blocking. If you put him as a wideout that could take some valuable blocking reps away from him. I understand the thought process of flanking him our 6 to 8 times a game just to give him the ability to work on his routs but in addition to that you need to get him in as a Tight End for about 15 to 20 plays a game at least with at least half of those being running plays.

If he can't at least take a step towards becoming a respectable blocking tightend by the end of this season than the coaching staff failed. Odds are with this coaching staff they will not properly develop Nelson. A previous poster said that Nelson as a 4th wide out would be a mismatch but its not something you would want to overexpose. Like I said 6 to 8 times a game would be ideal at most 10 to 12 times much more than that would tip our hand too much.

  7. I would like to think that being the only team in the division playing a 4-3 defense would serve to be a big advantage this season.

The reason it doesn't work to our advantage is because Most of the teams in our division play at least 8-11 games against 4-3 opponents. So when they face us twice a year its not a look they haven't seen before. Next year if the Pats, Jets, and Fins play a 3-4 heavy schedule than it might work out for us to play a 4-3. But I doubt their schedule only features a hand full of games against a 4-3.

  8. I don't know if he goes top 10 but I would bet the Farm he is a 1st round pick at QB. Some people on this board are a JOKE. They have seen VERY LITTLE of his play, yet are ready to pronounce him a marginal QB. Hell he still has an entire year of College ball to play. He may never have the best arm in the NFL, but he is intelligent, a LEADER, & a WINNER. If he wins another Championship, he may well go in the top 10.

I think some team is going to fall in love with him. BUT no team is going to shell out a top 20 pick to get him. The highest I see a team taking him would be in the lower first round or the high second round. I could see a dumb owner falling head over heels for him and either trading up into the latter first or early second just to get him. It reeks of a move Danny Snyder or AL Davis would make.

Also a Leader and a Winner at the College level makes no difference at the NFL level. Its easy to get college kids to fall in line because the coach tells them to follow you and you already have a ring on that level. If Tebow tries to yell or inspire a guy like TO or anyone in the NFL he will get laughed at. You need to show in the NFL that you have what it takes to at least take a team to the playoffs consistently.

Even A guy like McNabb or Hasselback can yell at a wide receiver because they have won at this level. Tebow needs to win before he can be a leader and the NFL is a level where most think he can't win. Tebow = Big fish little pond.

  9. In 10 years, everyone will be switching back to the 4-3 after they realize that there isn't enough talent to go around.

I think there are always going to be 5-7 teams running the 3-4. There is always at least enough talent for 4-5 teams to run it somewhat effectively. Look at the teams last year that ran some form of the 3-4 The Chargers, Pats, Steelers and Dolphins all ran a very effective 3-4 defense. Even the Jets and Cowboys had decent defensive units while running the 3-4. So there is always going to be a decent amount of teams running it.

I honestly think that a well run 3-4 with the right personnel can be a very effective defense. Its hard to defend because you can throw a lot of fronts at an offense. And if you get a defensive line that can hold down the defensive line than you free up 4 linebackers to blitz from various directions. Its a good Defense but there is no way the league can support 13 plus teams running it.

But there will always be a few teams running it, its too effective with the right personnel for a group of teams to not try it. However 4-3 teams will be the beneficiaries while the 3-4 is over exposed. During the draft teams with the 3-4 will take players that fit there system even if it is a little high (Cheifs pass on Orakpo and Curry to take Tyson Jackson). While the better 4-3 players fall.

  10. Why do we really hate Vick? Enlighten us.

The reason MOST hate Vick is because he fought an animal that you have as a pet. Most dogs are part of people's homes and they make a real connection with them. A lot of people see the dogs Vick fought as an extension of their own. Thus you connect with the issue on a personal level. If Vick had been fighting Rats or some other non-domesticated animal there would be no where near the level of outrage because you don't see a rat as anything of value.

Thats my reasoning. I have never owned a dog because growing up my mom didn't allow me to because she grew up on a farm and doesn't view animals as pets. So I don't know first hand the personal connection one can have with a dog so I am able to get a little separation from the whole Vick issue and look at it form the surface.

If Vick fought Rats honestly would you have cared as much or at all? Keep in mind Rats do feel pain and basic emotion.

  11. :thumbsup::angry:

The courts are a different appeals process from the commissioner!! The union is fighting the suspensions!

The NFLPA and the Williamses had argued in separate lawsuits that NFL officials knew a weight-loss supplement called StarCaps contained the banned diuretic bumetanide back in 2006, even though it wasn't listed on the label, and that the league should have notified players and federal regulators.

Why can't you admit you were wrong! There are other outlets for appeals other than the commissioner!

So saying the fact that the players Union can Sue the NFL is an appeals process? And as someone else has already pointed out substance abuse is a different issue than the personal conduct policy. So basically the appeals process goes like this (Rodger Goodell)- you are suspended for 3 games. (Player X) Can I appeal,(Rodger Goodell) OK I have appealed to myself and you are still suspended. (Player X) Well that doesn't seem fair I am going to my union. (Goodell) You don't like it sue me.

That is not an appeals process, and I am pretty sure you can't sue over a personal conduct issue because the Union allowed for it to be put in the CBA. Like I said if the Players Union doesn't care than they deserve it but I should hope during the next CBA they lobby for a actual appeals process.

  12. (sigh), the union can stand up for a player that they feel has been handled badly. There is no reason they can't.

    Link

    From an article dated May 29th 2009;

MINNEAPOLIS -A federal judge denied on Friday a request by the NFL Players Association to put the suspensions of five players on hold while the case over use of a banned substance is being appealed.

However, NFLPA attorney Jeffrey Kessler said it doesn't necessary mean the players will miss any games at the start of the 2009 season because there could be action at the appellate court level before the season starts.

Further, he said, U.S. District Judge Paul Magnuson has sent some issues surrounding the suspensions of Minnesota Vikings defensive tackles Kevin Williams and Pat Williams back to the state courts.

In the NFL you appeal to Rodger Goodell. That actually shows how much power Goodell has. The Union had to get a Appeals Court ruling in to just stall Goodells process. The tacit was not used to get the suspensions reversed but to stall the suspension till next season. The appeals process is a joke you appeal to the office of Rodger Goodell.

  13. I live in Fla and it seems like the guy can do nothing wrong. He is home schooled and does missionary work overseas. He reminds me of a much bigger version of Doug Flutie. Say what you want, all the guy does is win. We have not had a passer of merit since Kelly. Tebow has the mental toughness of Kelly. Tebow has the size to do well in the frigid northeast. We could do worse at qb.

There is a reason why Tebow isn't viewed by pro scouts as a legitimate pro QB. A lot think he is a perfect fit as a wildcat QB but he just does not have the skills needed in order to succeed as an every down QB. A lot of people get seduced by his college winning and personality (I think if he was black though no one would care about how religious he was).

I would take Trent Edwards over Tebow. Tebow is smoke and mirrors and I hope a team is dumb enough to pick him up in the first round as a long term answer at QB because they will be disappointed.

  14. Hey Tim I made a thread comparing the way the Giants built their offensive line to the way the Bills are trying to build their line. The Giants have had relatively the same O-line with only one major move in the last 4 seasons. The Giants built a line more as a unit rather than a collection of talent.

I see the Bills unit as a unit that with time can come together and be a very good o-line for years to come. In two years everyone on the o-line besides Walker will be under 30. If the Bills have the patience to stick through the growing pains of this new unit than the Bills line will be a very good unit for years.

Tim do you feel that this line can develop into something similar to the Giants O-line and do you feel that the Bills are trying to go for that type of unit?

  15. If the union finds a particular case unfair they can still stand up for the player. So far they've agreed with commissioner.

How can they stand up for the player. There is no appeal process. Once again they appeal to the very same person who issued the suspension. If Goodell wants to he has no reason to change his original decision. In Baseball and hockey the union can appeal a case to an independent arbitrator who follows a system of rules in deciding the outcome of a suspension. At least that possibility of an appeal would keep Goodell honest.

If the players don't mind than they get what they deserve.

  16. He's a convicted felon...end of story

There's plenty of professions you can't get a job in after being convicted of felony. The NFL needs to be one of them. Goodell has been harder on troublemakers than the other commissioners...if he lets someone in the league who knowingly and willfully committed vicious crimes for over 6 years, it'll be hard to take him seriously again.

As far as Little and Lewis, for one, both their incidents happened before Goodell took over as NFL Commissioner. For another thing, Lewis was convicted of a misdemeanor and Little is guilty of killing someone because he wasn't thinking clearly and got behind the wheel while over the limit.

No one expects everyone in the NFL to be a choir boy but there needs to be limits...and anyone convicted of a vicious felony crime is over that limit.

I always seem to get into an argument with you about Vick. I won't respond after this post because it is only going to lead to the same argument that we have gone through over and over again and we aren't going to change each others minds.

I think what makes Vick's case so hard and tricky to me is that he went to jail for almost 2 years and lost 100 million dollars and is now bankrupt. Another wrinkle to the argument is that Vick has a partnership with the humane society so the public outrage is likely to be limited by that. You say that he hasn't lost enough and think that that the NFL has no obligation to let him back in and that what he has done is worse than what anyone in the league has done since Goodell has taken over.

I believe that Vick has lost enough. His crimes were terrible but no human life was taken or greatly harmed by his actions so while he should have gone to jail and lost his money I don't think the rest of his life should have to end as a result. IF a team is willing to hire him the league should let him in. Unlike most of the people in the league who beat their wives, repeatedly drive drunk or high, or do other illegal and horrible things Vick served a prolonged jail sentence.

I believe that the NFL instituted a hard ass discipline policy under Rodger Goodell because too many players due to their money and status were not getting any recourse for their actions through the justice system. But Vick got a really significant punishment for what he did so I don't think a second punishment is necessary.

To conclude my point I just don't think a year ban is really necessary because he is just going to go back in next year and you will still get protests. If you ban him for a life time I just don't think the punishment would be fitting the crime. So for the NFL just let him in take your lumps (If there are any the NFL is a juggernaut very few things can stop it) now and let it blow over as quickly as possible.

  17. Yeah, the league just needs to formalize its suspension policy, because as it stands now, it can seem kind of arbitrary. Goodell has be using his authority wisely and fairly, so far, but if there's a commissioner that doesn't do that down the road, or Goodell changes his tune, the players should have some form of recourse.

Exactly Goodell needs no rhyme or reason to hand out suspensions. If he gave Lynch a 6 game suspension who is going to stop him? He also can give guys less or more time on a suspension for no reason other than he didn't like him. For all we know he just hates Lynch because of no real reason other than he didn't like the cut of his jib. While Brandon Marshall has a nice guy quality to him as well as a few nice friends to vouch for him so he gets it reduced to 1 game. IF it happened that way there is nothing no one can do to Goodell.

Its too much power for one man to have. And like you said its too unorganized. I really hope the players union bargains for that because too many of their players get affected by this policy for them not to care.

  18. You are completely wrong

Brandon drew a line in the sand - Peters would get no new deal in 2008 (before, during or after the season)- no matter what he did.

so stop with the nonsense that by showing up and playing nice he would have got a pay raise in 2008.

you say he got bad advice --

seems Peters made out like a bandit - he got the big contract he wanted and he now plays on a Super Bowl contender.

by holding out in 2008, he called the Bills bluff. they folded in 2009 and gave him away.

how is it HE got bad advice???

as a Bills fan, you may not like the outcome - but the agent works for Peters, not the fans

He got the result he wanted but he risked a lot by holding out and not getting the deal he wanted before ending his hold out. Like I said if he showed up and played well than the front office is the ones who are the bad guys and that pressure would have led to a new deal during the 2008 season. After all the Bills did give a deal to Evans during that same year. And he could have asked for more if he played well in 2008 instead of handing in that barely above average effort. It worked out for Peters despite his best efforts.

As far as 2009 went I was all for signing the guy but once he was traded (not necessarily for nothing but yeah not the best deal) the Bills were focused on getting the rest of the line in shape and building for the long term and having four guys who are young with potential turn into a unit overtime. Like I said not looking to harp on the Peters trade but I think once it was all said and done they built the line in a different fashion a philosophy that I think will pay off.

  19. Here's a solution...DON'T !@#$ UP IN THE FIRST PLACE! But while it is kinda messed up that the appeal isn't heard by someone different, it's not like changes can't be made in the punishment...Brandon Marshall got a 3-game suspension last year, appealed it, and it was reduced to 1 game

I have 2 solutions for you

    1. get a barf bag
    2. start ignoring the real world and live in a fantasy world in which it's written into law that you can do any job you want to even if you're not qualified (and a hardened criminal isn't qualified to do a lot of jobs)

Don't screw up in the first place is good advice. Most people do their best to follow that but in the life style these players live trouble tends to follow them (not even by their own fault sometimes) and they do screw up. Its overly simplistic to have one guy decide what is the appropriate punishment for every case in the league. Like i said have Goodell make his judgement and than if they have a problem with it they go to a arbitration process where different people look at it and both the league and the player state their reasoning for or against the suspension. I think we both are in agreement about that to a certain extent.

As for a fantasy world I have no problem with a disciplinary policy its just don't use the corporate slogan of "Its a privilege not a right" to justify it. The policy is designed to make money not hold the league to some sort of higher standard. If you really think its about discipline or setting that its a privilege to play than you are fooling yourself.

  20. Is there anyone else who thinks that is !@#$ed up the fact that Goodell is the only person that judges suspensions? I mean the person you appeal to is Rodger Goodell aka the person who suspended you in the first place. Shouldn't there be some arbitration process? But for some reason the players union never says anything about it. Are they waiting for the CBA to expire or do the players just don't care.

I know if I was a guy like Marshawn Lynch I would be so pissed that the only hope of stating my case for a reduced suspension is to the guy who has already has rendered a verdict on my case. Its just not right for one man to have all that power over the way so many earn a living.

And stop with the whole its a privilege not a right thing. The league can't say No Mexicans in the league its a privilege not a right. Its 30 individual companies competing against one another under the same banner not a country club. I know the league has a disciplinary policy and wants to uphold an image but don't quote that line it just makes me sick. That privilege not a right thing is just a line made up by the NFL to justify its hard ass one man one rule conduct policy.

  21. Last year you had 10 teams running the 3-4 defense this year you add to the list The Green Bay Packers, The Denver Broncos and the Kansas City Chiefs. Even the Arizona Cardinals are thinking about converting to it.

The 3-4 seems to be a big trend in the NFL recently and going forward its only getting more popular. The decades two most successful franchises ran the 3-4 (Pats and Steelers combined won 5 of this decades SuperBowls). In our own division we are the only team to not run it. But will teams who run 4-3's be the one who benefit from this trend?

In a 3-4 you need to find a NT that is so dominant that he alone can control the Interior of the Line. The more successful 3-4 teams have them (Casey Hampton, Vince Wilfork, Jammal Williams). You also need bigger MLB's who can absorb the pounding that comes with only having 1 DT in front of you. You also need bigger DE's who can control the outside of the offensive lines and do a good job of pass rushing. You also need freakish athletes at OLB who can be great pass rusher and still defend the run well.

All those things are hard to find in the college level because most schools don't run a 3-4 which means that these bigger stronger guys who are hard to find already become harder to find. Long term I hope that the Bills don't switch to the 3-4 its too much of a hassle because there just are too many teams out there looking for these types of guys and there just aren't enough of these guys out there for all of those teams.

I think its easier to draft guys for the 4-3 and I think that teams can build effective defenses with it. Simply put more teams looking for 3-4 talent means less teams looking for 4-3 talent.

  22. GET THIS GUY. I rarely look at big name guys and say bring them in. My typical thought process when a big name is released is get him, than I take a look at why he was released and if he is that much better than what the Bills already have. Usually I back off the big names because in actuality they are not really much of an upgrade over what we have.

But this guy is a young guy with potential who is being released by a team who is overly committed to a system they just aren't ready to implement effectively. I wouldn't bring him in as a starter by any means. But we are lacking depth at defensive end (I mean quality depth, Ryan Denny and Chris Ellis don't inspire confidence off the bench). Maybin is good depth but he can't be counted on to step in full time.

If we added Moss I think that he can be a answer long term for replacing Schobel and give us depth in the short term. Its a great move give Denver a 7th round choice and bring this guy in. A young player with a lot of potential who was released or being traded for no real reason.

Another thought on Denver is that they are acting like the Jets when they brought in Mangini and were force feeding a 3-4 defense on a team that was built to run the 4-3. The Jets were a team that had small Middle linebackers and no big nose tackles as well as small defensive ends. Yet they wanted to be a 3-4 team at any cost. The Broncos are doing a half assed job of converting to a 3-4. They had 3 picks in the first two rounds and only spent one of those on the front seven.

  23. Cmon man, the guy has started every game in 3 seasons in the league. If that's not the epitome of first round talent, I don't know what is

Not saying he is not a first round talent but not top 5 talent. If you draft a LT number 4 overall or even in the top 10 you are expecting a guy who is going to be a top ten LT for a decade. Brian Mckinne is the kind of guy I think you expect when you draft a guy that high at the very least. Fergueson is a guy who if you redid that draft would be drafted somewhere in the latter portion of the middle of the first round.

Solid LT who can hold down the position yes. Anchor of the O-line who can protect the blind side from elite pass rushers NO.

  24. If our guys grow into solid performers/all pro almost, then they will leave in free agency because the Bills will not pay the freight (in general).. there is no "long term" with this franchise as they are in perpetual rebuilding mode.

Guards, Centers, and Right Tackles don't cost any where near what LT's cost. A top tier or even very good LT cost between 7.5-12 million a year. If you look at the Giants O-line they don't really cost that much. Rich Seubert makes around like 3 million a year. Chris Snee makes 4.5 million. Shaun O'Hara makes 2.7 million a year. The most expensive guy on the Giants line is Kareem McKenzie who makes 5.2 million a year. A total cost of those 4 players is around 15 million total. Even the LT David Diehl makes 5.1 million a year.

I think the Bills can afford those kind of players. I mean Peters got around 10.5 million a year for only 4 million more a year the Giants field 4/5's of their line. I find it hard to believe that if Butler develops into a good RT they won't shell out 4.5 to 5.5 million a year for him. I doubt that if Wood and Levitre develop into a pair of good guards they won't shell out 4 to 5 million a year for them. These guys are in the Bills price range.

  25. I think the Bills would love to have Brooks BUT its not a matter of is there no interest on the Bills part it is a matter of is Brooks interested in coming back and if he still wants to play what teams run a system he can be a fit for. And out of those teams that still run the Cover 2 how many have a need for a OLB,

I also think that the Bills would be the best fit for Brooks for three reasons. 1- We still run the Tampa 2 and 2- We have a huge need for an outside linebacker 3- We are the only team with both the system and the need that has a decent chance of competing this year.

If Brooks were to come back where else would he go? Tampa is changing systems and I just don't see any other teams that have a need for a OLB in the Tampa 2.
