  1. I live a couple of miles from Boca Raton. Do you guys think it would be out of line if I dropped in on the Pegulas to watch the game? I mean with all I've learned on this site I could give them some pointers on how they should proceed. I could pick up a twelve pack of Labatts Blue and some wings.
  2. Or maybe Pats DL and LB are not very good.
  3. Make sure that robe has the big logo on the back.
  4. And the owner has the right to call the guy out as a stiff.
  5. Bob, I know Greg, he is a really good guy and no BS. If you don't have any passion for what you currently do, go for it.
  6. A life time ago I managed a club in the Hamptons. It was frequented by a number of swells, privileged spoiled brats really. I had a problem with bounced checks, so I made blown up copies and posted them in the entrance way. It was amazing how quickly people made good on those checks. I ran a very high profile restaurant in NYC, four stars from the NY Times also written up in the Times as the best service in the US. It was frequented by celebrities, masters of the universe, politicians and even royalty. If someone was a notorious bad tipper and it didn't matter who they were, we did not accept their reservation. You have an obligation to your staff. They need to know you have their back and are not going to let customers abuse them.
  7. Good one. Or the service was good and he's a stiff. And this coming from a guy that started waiting tables in college, bartended, managed and owned restaurants. I over tip in places I frequent. People never understand how I can walk up to a bar that is two deep and get service immediately or get a table in a very busy place with no reservation. Really not very complicated.
  8. Not necessarily, some people are just stiffs.
  9. The only time I've ever been physically accosted at a game, was at a Bills, Dolphins game in Miami. It was a drunk Bills fan that thought I was a Dolphins fan.
  10. Did you read Sully's article today? It seems that the reason the Sabres didn't turn it around after Pegula purchase is because they didn't listen to Sullivan. How arrogant is that?
  11. I once got sued for $2m, for the intent to commit mental anguish , because I questioned a tip that a customer left wait staff. It went on for a few years. The jerk eventually got nothing.
  12. Honest to God this just made me laugh out loud.
  13. Nothing like a good Hank quote.
  14. Watch the Inside the NFL. Ed Reed wants to know the whole story before he condemns his "brother" Ray Rice. Gumbel and Esiason don't really disagree. Well Ed, your "brother" punched a woman and knocked her out. What do you think Ed? Was Ray threatened? Was he defending himself? Then to add insult to injury the producers of this show have Brandon Marshall as a guest, who of course was stabbed by his wife on a domestic violence incident, unbelievable.
  15. Ok this story is mind boggling. I have not lived on Buffalo for forty years, so I am of no help. Someone tell JMora where to stay, what to do. Someone needs to invite them to tailgate.
  16. Don't know about now but at one point in time Wayne Huizenga owned the Dolphins, Panthers and Marlins.
  17. Sanchez time?
  18. My living room in Delray Beach FL. I think I'll grill some Italian sausage at half time.
  19. Submitted my binding bid.
  20. Talked to a kid on the beach here in FL wearing a Bills jersey. He was about ten, asked him if he was from Buffalo , he said no but his dad was. He said he hoped the Bills are good this year, I said me too. As I walked away I thought , the Bills have not been remotely good in this kids lifetime. And so the cycle goes on, the misery and joy of being a Bills fan. Saw a homeless guy wearing a Thurman Thomas Dolphins jersey. Did a double take.
