  1. I'm pretty sure they mentioned Thurman's run at least a half dozen times during the broadcast of the game.
  2. It depends on how much value you see in a first round pick. Also, I can see the Raiders getting a 2nd round pick for Jason Campbell. So ultimately they are getting a proven veteran QB who might still play at a franchise QB level for a first round pick, unless they make it to the AFC championship - it which case the trade of 2 first rounders would clearly be justified. I don't think it's really that bad of a deal for the Raiders.
  3. They drafted Dareus because he was a premier prospect at a critical position. And considering the fact that we are scoring the 2nd most points per game in the NFL (behind only the packers - and barely behind them at that...), I would have to argue how much we "need" a WR.
  4. By what I've read, Barnett and Williams are both likely to play. Plus, the Giants are pretty battered too. I like our chances.
  5. Let us know how she feels in March Hopefully the turds will migrate to Philly instead. You forgot to mention digging your car out of the snow...ahh fun. Last year it snowed here once...we all went outside and made mud angels
  6. We should be favored, and if we don't win, it's a big disappointment. Bills > Giants, by a long shot. We should win by double digits. Because the Giants got beaten by the Seahawks at home. They should not be favored against anybody at this point.
  7. LOL that struck a funny chord with me. Down here I always hear people say "I'm gonna learn you this..." etc, and I always thought it was just some kind of southern lingo, like fix'in to or over yonder...but my wife informed me recently that people who say that actually think to learn you something is the same as to teach you something... I actually heard a guy tell a Mexican "I'm fix'in to learn you some American" I was like dear god... And honestly it really pisses me off how some southern white folks dog the Mexican population. The one that makes my blood boil is "if you're gonna live here, learn to speak the language." I'm just thinking - do they offer Cherokee classes at night? Or...if you're gonna tell them not to live here, learn to pick an onion. Cause I'm sure as hell not gonna get out there in 120+ degree heat index and pick them... And guys, I'm ranting now, but I have tons of respect for most Mexicans. These dudes WORK. They literally sprint back and forth all day long with 50 and 100 lb sacs of onions on their backs. It's amazing really. Most of us COULD NOT do it. It really torques me when people dog Mexicans.
  8. Of course we are all excited right now about the Bills. But if we somehow manage to McKelvin the playoffs this year, I'm gonna be kinda pissed and not really care what happened early in the season.
  9. What good is perpetually getting younger? That is no good whatsoever. We have a chance to make a run - we should get what help we can find. That being said, Reggie Wayne isn't really what I had in mind. The Brandon Lloyd speculation did intrigue me though. And Brandon Lloyd never had Peyton Manning inflating his numbers.
  10. My question is this: which of these NFL skills do you allege that Tebow does not possess, and which games at Florida that you watched him play in lead you to this conclusion? You could say his footwork needs improvement...but would you not also agree that that is the easiest aspect to improve through repetition? And honestly I'm not at all saying he doesn't need to improve in other areas as well, I'm simply granting that his footwork definitely needs improvement and asking you to validate why you think he isn't capable in terms of the other items that you listed.
  11. That's a pretty good article from Don Banks - well written and unbiased in my opinion. The fallacy in Dilfer's thinking is that Tebow needs to play like Manning to win championships. The whole issue that Tebow supporters are leaning on is that Tebow can play like Tebow and win. He doesn't need to play like Manning. That is the bottom line. You see, a lot of people don't want Tebow to win because him doing so would devalue the playing style of guys like Manning, who are prototypical pocket passers. Not to say that pocket passers won't succeed and be great, it's just going to become evident that you don't HAVE to play according to one certain paradigm in order to win in the NFL. And the NFL doesn't want to see this because for years, they have been moving toward a passing dominant league, and Tebow threatens to undermine this business model. So they have been spewing this propaganda that his style won't work - because they don't want to see his skill set be successful in the NFL. But it will be. We all will see soon. Isn't funny how Dilfer tries to grasp at anything he can to keep dogging Tebow? Now that Tebow is about to start (after Dilfer and others have been saying all along that he won't start in the NFL....) Dilfer is granting all of a sudden that Tebow might be successful for a few games? That just seems a little suspicious - he is backpedaling big time here on everything he has been spewing all season long. But at least for a few weeks, he'll be able to say "I told you he might be successful at first." That will buy him some more time. But Trent, it is inevitable man. You and Hoge can have a Tebow-crow choking party together. I'll buy you guys both a beer to make you feel better.
  12. That's exactly right. We argue using stats because it is beyond obvious they haven't watched more than perhaps a 5 min clip of Tebow's college career. And personally, I believe it is crystal clear that the dude is being ostracized because of his lifestyle, and because of his success and accolades at Florida. But in the end, Tebow will succeed, we will be laughing our asses off at all these people who have been dogging him for so long, and Merill Hoge will choke his crow on national T.V. I make these predictions, because unlike the "fence sitters" on this board, and unlike the NFL analysts who continue to drone on about his throwing motion, I watched Tebow play week after week. I saw his prodigious abilities destroy my favorite college team time after time, even when they had national championship aspirations. I learned long ago never bet against Tebow. Many people on here will learn the same lesson in the same crow-choking manner that I did. This time, I'm going to be on the "I told you so" side.
  13. First of all, I'm not your friend. Lastly, I would suggest that you are the one having trouble grasping the point. I am arguing that the relevancy and validity of Tebow's or any other player's college statistics far exceeds the relevancy and validity of speculation regarding "ideal throwing motion." For example, who establishes "ideal throwing motion"? And once we know who establishes the standard for such an argument, then we must inquire as to their credentials to establish such a standard. You see, statistics are much more objective than "ideal throwing motion". Now just consider this: if you were on trial for your life, would you prefer a lawyer who was making subjective, speculative arguments, or one who was making empirical, objective arguments? Have a nice day.
  14. No...its comparing green apples to red apples. It's football and football. Not football and basketball. Let me go ahead and dissect this beautiful post for you. Other than that, you raise some good points. Well, I'm sure at some point in your life you've made at least one good point about something.
  15. You do realize that many NFL quarterbacks also played in the SEC don't you? And that none of them can even polish Tebow's boots in terms of passing accomplishments while there...including Peyton Manning. This is not indisputable evidence that Tebow will be great by any means. By I think it certainly supports the argument that he will be a good NFL QB FAR MORE than that he will not be a good NFL QB....how can you possibly refute this logic? And yet, every NFL player also played in college somewhere. And yet, none of them come anywhere near Tebow's college accomplishments. How does this support your argument better than it supports our argument? Garranimal, logic and empirical evidence is lost on them dude. They *actually* believe that the argument "his mechanics are flawed" is stronger than "he was the greatest college QB of all time, statistically speaking". They *actually* believe that. All I can say is I'm glad they are posting here instead of discussing military games and theory at West Point...
  16. That guy is a !@#$ing idiot. Do not feed that troll by posting his inane banter here please. Someone tell him Lee Evans is not romantically available already.
  17. Well honestly you might be nitpicking a bit there...relatively speaking, China is much closer to Buffalo than say...Neptune.
  18. I'd give up the third rounder and another low rounder to get him.
  19. Is anyone NOT extremely happy that Chan Gailey is our coach right now? Like many others, I had my reservations about Gailey at first. I didn't think it was a bad hire - we certainly could have done much worse. But neither was I saying "woohoo! Chan Gailey!" Now I am saying that...so woohoo! When I read your first sentence I was thinking...Since Marv? I mean let's not jump to conclusions...but everything about Chan screams prodigious coach on the cusp of greatness. Is he perfect - no. There have been a few instances where I was like "what the heck are we doing?" But there have been many more instances when I just watch and think "wow". Marv was a decent coach, don't get me wrong. But he had possibly (and maybe even probably) the most talented team in the history of the NFL, but never won the big one. At this early juncture, I have to give the edge to Chan. But things may yet turn for the worse...however it certainly doesn't feel like that will be the case right now. Yea Fitz and Chan seem to have a symbiotic football relationship. They possibly compliment each other better than any other tandem in the league.
  20. You need veterans during crunch time - like the playoffs.
  21. Really? Because they did a pretty nice job of shutting down most prolific offense of all time for an entire half when they beat the Pats.
  22. I wonder...has a kicker ever been traded in the NFL? I can't remember if Morton Anderson was traded or signed as a free agent when he joined the Falcons. He's the only possible one I can think of. And Tebow could never be a successful kicker in the NFL. His kicking motion is far too jerky and slow.
  23. lol ok ok I can deal with this post. You are likely correct that he doesn't have the physical gifts to allow him to be a prototypical pocket passer like Brady or Manning. However, he has a lot of physical attributes that really set him apart from anyone else that plays QB in the NFL, and it is those attributes that we Tebow supporters expect will make him successful, not to mention his intangible attributes.
  24. Really? Because so far, Tebow's results support my perspective. In 12 NFL games, Tebow has an 84.2 passer rating. Not bad for a guy who has played in 12 NFL games. But I'm sure there's some reason why that doesn't count right? Just for comparative purposes, Peyton Manning, in his rookie season, had a passer rating of 71.2 with 26 TDs and 28 INTs. Tebow's 12 games is a smaller sample size, especially considering he didn't start many of those games, but 84.2 rating with 6 TDs and 3 INTs is CLEARLY superior, is it not? Let me reiterate: Tebow does not have to be pretty to be effective. Is that just beyond you or something? Kelly, I'm going to thoroughly enjoy rubbing your face in this for as long as you post on this forum. And I will. Believe me, I will. Every time you make any post regarding any subject and I happen to read it.
